just saw today that the last season will premiere Feb. 2nd... it'll be on Tuesdays now.

I see what you're saying, but I guess what I meant was... I would hope we do good because it's the right thing to do... not merely because if we don't, we'll go to hell. I would like to think that people can determine what "good" or "right" is without god or religion having to define it for them.

I completely agree with everything you said here. But is that the only reason to do right? to get to heaven? to avoid hell?

@Mika- which movies did you watch? @Susan- which one is 1408... is that the horror one that came out last year? :( I hadn't heard this, though it does seem that Jeremy Piven's been doing some jerky things lately. Hope it's not true; they're so funny together.

That was pretty cool. Loved the beginning, though (and please don't kill me, I know you're a huge Radiohead fan) I thought the end *did* go on a little too long. thanks for posting it! Oh, that sucks that you won't get a chance to see them. :( I know you'll enjoy the album, though. I also got the Deluxe edition, and I love it. I've not finished watching the DVD yet, so I'm excited to get a chance to sit and pay attention to it! And no worries about the name thing... it's hard to keep everyone's name straight sometimes! :nice:

I think Fitz mentioned it in his review... it's just so cool how they need nothing other than their instruments and their voices, they performed for 2 full hours and made it such an intimate, meaningful show. Was just beautiful. I've really been in a Swell Season mood, too... love the new album, particularly Low Rising, I Have Loved You Wrong and Paper Cup (though really, the whole thing is fantastic). Glen's performance of Back Broke at the show was perfection.

@Christina (or anyone who can answer)- who's the girl singing I Remember? Is that Lisa Hannigan?

I saw the incredible awesomeness that is the Swell Season last night. I :heart: Glen Hansard. BUT, due to circumstances beyond my control, I didn't get to stay after and try to meet him. :bigcry: Though I'm really disappointed about that, I was absolutely blown away by the show. Glen, Mar and the rest of the guys are obviously very passionate about what they do, and they seemed to put everything into the performance. They played forever and I loved every minute. Absolutely incredible.

So, Saffire, do you think they shouldn't face any consequence for what they did?

I'm new to Damien Rice- amazon had Live at Fingerprints ridiculously cheap one day, so I downloaded it on a whim. I've really loved it. Ready for more now! So according to what I've seen here, "O" is a good place to start?

@Mig-El & Meredith- I don't know about all the major retailers, but I'm pretty sure amazon.com (US) is NOT carrying the deluxe edition with the DVD, just the 2 disc set. Also have checked Target and Best Buy online and it looks like they also just have the 2 disc set. Best Buy MAY have the deluxe edition... they've got an Up to Now listed at $37.99- BUT, it doesn't have any specifics as to what it includes. Mig-El, you may just want to order it rather than risk not being able to find it when you come to the US. I'm going to order mine thru amazon.co.uk. :(

Sorry, but how exactly does that "drum up support" for the war? I don't disagree with your argument that support for the war is low, but I just don't see how the senseless killing of soldiers would help build support for the war.

so I checked the ABC website for a start date for the new season... all it says is "Early 2010". couldn't possibly be more vague. :rolleyes: But, I should probably re-watch at least the last half of seaon 5... so much happened and I know there's no way I'll remember it all! My favorite ep: Definitely "The Constant". Also loved "The 23rd Psalm"- the one that told Eko's backstory. They're all soo good! My favorite characters: Desmond :heart:, Charlie, Sun, and I love to hate Ben. The actor who plays him is absolutely perfect.

Congrats again, Brooke! "Lunch" is awesome! :lol: I imagine all this excitement is making it hard to concentrate! :P
