  1. another heads up, folks. Just heard from one of my tweeps who works at ACL that there will be a BALCONY ticket giveaway TOMORROW. and yes, Lauren, PM me your number! EDIT: Sorry, that should be FRIDAY not "tomorrow". losing track of the days over here!
  2. Ahhh... so *that's* how you got the AF tix. :sneaky: Well, I'm going to proceed based on the assumption that I'm going to the taping, dammit. Who wants to meet up for drinks or something after?
  3. Good Luck to you too, Angie. And Good Luck to everyone trying!!!!
  4. I KNOW! I was just checking out all the comments on the CP's facebook post... looks like a whole bunch of people who wouldn't have known about it otherwise are entering. Great for them, but that makes sucky odds for us. :(
  5. ^No, it's not separate. Just saw tweets from ACL directing everyone to coldplay.com to enter there for the Coldplay taping. Sooo.... yeah. Not sure how I feel about my chances. :(
  6. Head's Up, Everyone!!! Just saw this tweet: acltv AustinCityLimits TV Heads up! Most of the ticket giveaways for our Sept. Austin City Limits tapings will be posted TOMORROW on our blog. #acltv
  7. :shy: that's my video with the kids! :) I found out about the contest right before the videos were due. The winner was announced Thursday, and I have to say, I was happy to have lost to her. I think she did an incredible job!
  8. I know. It's the only thing I'm worried about. :/ Ridiculously hot. Face of the sun hot. Fucking hot even for Texas, which is always fucking hot. Last week, highs were between 108-112 EVERY DAY. So hot it's still 98 degrees at 10:30 at night. BUT, I have seen a tiny little glimmer of hope. The highs for this week are between 90-95, with nighttime lows in the 60s. Let's all hope it carries over to next week! And, just asking here... is it possible to work together to try to secure spots? So that we could each take turns getting out (for food, drink, bathroom) at least for part of the day? I know as it gets later in the afternoon it'll be impossible to get back in after getting out, but maybe in the early afternoon?
  9.:dance::dance: re-watched bits of Glastonbury last night and realized that I NEED to be in front, or as close as I can possibly get. It may make for a miserable day, but I think the show itself will make up for that!
  10. The countdown has begun!! Who wants to try to get together the Thursday night before (after we all attend the ACL taping, of course)?
  11. [ame= ] [/ame] I completely agree, Anna. It starts off so promising, but it doesn't seem to go anywhere.
  12. There will be, but not until the first day of the fest, Sept. 16. :)
  13. Hi! I'm sure someone on here will be happy to take that extra ticket off your hands! :) I'd love to meet up at the park with anyone. I'm planning on getting there early, too. ACL just posted on twitter that they were mailed out yesterday, I think. You should be getting yours soon! Guys, those of you coming in from out of town need to be prepared for EXTREME HEAT. We've had a record breaking run of 100+ degrees here (I think we're somewhere like 69 days this summer, 40-something of which have been in a row). It's brutal. Mid-September shouldn't be as hot, hopefully, but it will still be very, very hot... probably mid-upper 90s. Unless it pours! :P
  14. I'm planning on getting there early, too.. probably around 11. I like most of the bands on the stage before Coldplay, so it should work out well. Just so you know Dianne, Old Crow Medicine Show pulled out of the fest (I was looking forward to seeing them again, too). Brandi Carlile is taking their spot. I am so torn, because I want to be up front, but don't know if I can handle standing in one spot ALL DAY LONG! l0wxo2 (I'm sorry, I haven't caught your name... I'm Jen. :nice: ) were you right at the barrier for Lolla, or just way up front?
  15. :( I went to ACL in 2005 JUST to see Coldplay, and didn't arrive until about 30 minutes before they went on. I was a mile away. BUT, I think if you get there and just keep worming your way forward you should be able to get a pretty decent spot. Good luck!!
  16. That sounds like the VLV tour book I have. :) and, welcome to the forum, btw!
  17. It hadn't even occurred to me we might hear Paradise! Cool! We'll have to figure something out. Are you all getting in Thursday too, Dianne? Good luck to everyone! Make sure you register on the ACL tv blog. They'll announce when you can enter about a week before the taping. It's getting closer, guys!!
  18. Was shocked to hear Major Minus at the theater a couple of weeks ago. I'd completely forgotten about it til I saw this thread!
  19. LOVE LOVE LOVE the video. light-hearted and funny. Can't wait for the album!
  20. My floor and PIT tickets (for two different shows) were $97 + service charges. I also bought nosebleed seats for $45 for one show, and lawn seats at an outdoor amphitheater for $35 (both also had add'l fees).
  21. ^agreed! I think it helps to have some context...
  22. btw, guys, I know it's still a month off (a month!!), but was wondering if anyone would like to meet up the night before for drinks/hanging out. We could go after we all win tix to the ACL taping. ;)
  23. Angie! That's incredible!! HOW did you get tickets?!
