The only song of theirs that I've heard and kinda liked is "Ocean Breathes Salty." The music video for that song is a bit weird. Anyway, my Internet at home is really bad for videos, but White Hinterland sounds REALLY good based on the description. I'll listen to those tracks should I have time when I'm in town some time this week.

It'd be something different. For something more along what I think you might like, try "Angles" by The Strokes. It's really solid. I have yet to check that album out, but Other Lives is on my "music to look into" list. Technically, the physical release isn't until August 30. People just happened to get the leak. I think it might be out digitally by now, though. I don't know. I haven't listened to it yet, but if it's similar to the "East Harlem/Goshen" single, I bet it's pretty good. I haven't really checked into him yet, but I heard a song of his on the mixtape made for me in the mixtape exchange we're wrapping up now, and I really like it. :D

They were willing to give "Helplessness Blues" by Fleet Foxes a 2 (which is BULL, by the way). I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Coldplay got an equally low score.

^ I really hate it when people tell me that. I'm not trying to bring the thread down, but people have been telling me that for years now, and things have only gotten worse as far as my problems are concerned. Anyway, I'm probably not the best person to ask, given I still deal with this issue every so often. I usually have to spend a good chunk of my day being by myself and just getting all my negative energy out, which I typically do by crying. It's not the healthiest thing, but it's better than keeping it all bottled inside until you lose it. I feel like it helps me if I listen to music that is somewhat depressing. I can't listen to happy music when I'm like that; it just pisses me off and I'm like, "UGH SHUT UP why can't I be happy like you?" When I listen to sad music, however, I remember that I'm not the only one with problems, and I'm not as bad off as I maybe think I am sometimes. It can always be worse. Yesterday I took good listens to: ♦ "Suego Faults"-Wolf Gang ♦ "Colour of the Trap"-Miles Kane "Suego Faults" wasn't as great as I thought it might be based on the hype in this thread, but I thought it was pretty enjoyable nevertheless. I like the Miles Kane album quite a lot, more than I thought I would.

Reading that letter you wrote before you left made me even more mad at you than I already was. As much as everyone else doesn't want me to hold grudges against you, what you did was unforgiveable, and I hope you never come back.

I don't say things just to get people riled up, because frankly, that's stupid. If they were really that thin-skinned to get upset enough about our comments to stop playing as a band, I would honestly lose all faith in Coldplay entirely. Thankfully, I don't think that's the case. Like most musicians, I think they're going to just keep doing what they love to do, which is make music. That's what all good musicians do. She's doing what she wants to do. Again, like I said, she's not finished. Why, just the other day, she was part of the entertainment on "America's Got Talent," and people CHEERED for her. Really, it's mostly Ark Music Factory's fault that it ended up as bad as it did. They're the ones who write her songs, after all. Well, of course Coldplay is going to stop eventually. Every band does, whether we like it or not. I really doubt it'll be because of a few things people have said on this forum, however. There are too many people (a lot of them here on this forum) who love them, and I'm pretty sure that's who they're concentrating their energy on. ~~~~~~~ While I'm sitting here thinking about it, I want people to understand that things I or other people may have said aren't meant to degrade Coldplay, and we're not saying these things because we hate them. In fact, it's quite the opposite. I know I personally care a lot about this band. They're the reason I came here and met so many of my wonderful online friends. I can never repay them for that. We just don't want to see them go in a direction that some of us (including myself, to an extent) don't think they should take. No, we can't really change what they do, because they're going to do what they want, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't express our opinions about it. Maybe they do read what's on here every once in a while. If they know that some of us are displeased with what they're doing, maybe they'll rethink what to do in the future so we can all get the best music possible. The best is what we want and expect of Coldplay. I don't see why that should become a problem.

Yeah, but Sigur Rós is completely different, considering they speak a completely differnet language from most of the world. Coldplay are from an English-speaking country and used an album title that has no meaning in any language, as far as anyone can tell. We may realize it has some sort of application later, but you can't possibly say that now without knowing a track listing or anything. Tell me where I said I know more than you. Tell me where. See, that's when people really start to rub me the wrong way, is when they try to twist my words into something completely different from the original context. Anyway, you were the one who said who used the term "OBVIOUSLY not" in your previous post, so you were the one who implied certainty in your opinion, so that's why I responded the way I did. "...because it might ruin our experience listening to the album." Seriously? If you're going to let an opinion-based thread on the title affect your opinion of how an album sounds, you have issues. Any person in their right mind wouldn't let that bother them.

What was the point of talking about Sigur Rós' musical style, then? You were the one who brought them into the conversation, not me. Anyway, their album titles actually do make sense for the most part, because all but one of the albums are named after their songs. The only one that isn't is "()" (otherwise known as "the bracket album"), and you kinda can't name that one after a track on that album because they're all "Untitled #_" (OK, so they have alternate names, but still), and even so, it's better that they named it that because it reflects what the album entails. As Approx mentioned (if I may abbreviate your name like that), there are no lyrics at all, as it's sung entirely in Hopelandic. I think the album title reflects that perfectly. Given that no one knows the intent behind Coldplay's naming process (especially since we have no official tracks to try to relate to it and even make a remote guess), you have as much of a clue about Coldplay's intent as we do, which is none. Don't try to act like you know more than everyone else when you don't. I'm not sure if I agree completely with the first bit, but I agree for the most part. That sounds a bit creepy, honestly.
