  1. I just hope they can live up to the expectations I have for them as a result of the first one.
  2. Well, if you are going to like only one Arctic Monkeys song, "Brianstorm" is a great choice. It's the song that got me into Arctic Monkeys. As far as The Vaccines, I thought their debut was amazing. However, their second album sounds like an unexciting rehash of the first one. :\ My feelings of Two Door Cinema Club are kinda the same way; their second album is more downbeat and darker than their first one, but I just like their debut a lot more.
  3. Artist name, artist nationality, number of albums released, genre (or subgenres, rather. This is kinda iffy, though, as genres are open to interpretation).
  4. You don't like ANY of those bands? WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU? D: (OKno, not really, but I do like all those bands.)
  5. Whoops, double post.

  7. ^ And this is how a hipster lives: through irony.
  8. HELL YES. I've been waiting on LP4 for ages! :bigcry: Also, thanks for the reminder about Frightened Rabbit. :nice: Adding Josh Groban to my list, too. :dazzled:
  9. Bumping this because it's Chris' birthday. My Wolsty is 34 today! :dazzled: I'd post a celebratory picspam, but I think I'd go WAAAY overboard, haha.
  10. Yeah, I think that's the best thing to do, if you want a review. I'm sorry you guys have to resort to that instead of getting a review from your original person, though. :(
  11. Actually, I think listening to Coldplay and being on a Coldplay forum killed your hipster credentials way before that.
  12. I've actually been working on an extensive spreadsheet for artists I want to look into for a while now (still haven't finished it), and it has those sorts of statistics. I'd be glad to donate my time to that.
  13. Off the top of my head, these are what I know for sure are coming out: Atoms for Peace Villagers Local Natives Foals
  14. ...Or it might be that Muse, Keane, etc. didn't really release solid albums this year. But no, I get what you mean. There have been a substantial amount of debuts released this year, and from what I've heard, they're quite good.
  15. Nonsense! As far as taste in music, generally, we're a pretty understanding bunch, especially with those who are new to the exchange. Even if we don't necessarily like what's put on the tape, we appreciate the time and effort people put into them, and that's what matters.
  16. Yeah, Suzana, come on and join us next time! It's a really nice and fun way to discover and share music. :nice:
  17. Yes, ma'am. :D I love them. Especially Simone. :dazzled:
  18. I just went and changed mine again.

  20. I think now would be as good a time as any. If you haven't done it in a month, chances are, you won't do it at all. Once again, I'd like to volunteer my ears to a mixtape, should anyone need a review. :nice:
  21. Laaaaame. Just kidding. Have fun!
  22. 70 isn't that high of a score, if you think about it. 70/100 is 7/10. Now, if they gave it a 90 or a perfect score like Pitchfork did with Kanye's "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy," I could maybe understand why you're so fussed about it. Speaking of Pitchfork, they gave T2L a 5.5 (I myself would give it no more than a 6, but that's beside the point), and a good chunk of us that regularly visit the Muse thread on this forum (myself included) concede that it's their worst album, so I honestly don't even see where you're getting the idea that T2L is so highly praised. Also, I don't really understand some of the points that you're making in terms of genius. "Showbiz" doesn't that have much going on in itself (not knocking it, as it's one of my faves off that album, just saying), KoC's chord progression isn't THAT revolutionary, and as much as I love B&H (It's my favorite song), the solo was very heavily inspired by Rachmaninoff, and some speculate that it might even be a ripoff from one of his piano concertos. (Now, it looks like I'm dissing Muse here, but I'm not. Anyone who knows how much I truly love them knows that. I'm merely playing the devil's advocate here.) Having said all that, yes, I agree, T2L is subpar. I listen to maybe half of it on a regular basis. I find "Explorers" to be boring, and I've never hated a Muse song as much as I hate "Panic Station." At any rate, it's all a matter of personal taste.
  23. I'm still pretty new to Talking Heads, but I enjoy them so much. I can't help but be in a good mood when I'm listening to them. :D
  24. Even after all this time, I still don't like "Kid A" all that much, and I don't understand the hype. -waits for all the Kid A lovers to tell her to GTFO-
