heh...now that you mention it, i think his eyes are green. i've never really taken notice of his eye colour...but then i tend to associate green eyes with Irishmen. :wink3: oh & i'd just like to add that Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars is currently #5 on the Absolute Radio Song of the Decade voting!!! http://songofthedecade.com/ :dance: (personally, i think there are better/more deserving SP tracks...but then at least SP are represented on the top 5 as of now...heck, it's even ranked higher than Coldplay's Fix You, which is at #8 right now...& Yellow is playing on the channel as i type)

i'm sorry, but i probably win for worst fan ever...cos i barely ever pay attention to or watch music videos. hence, i had no idea there was even a Signal Fire music video until it was mentioned. & i seem to have an aversion towards the Spiderman movie franchise. so i have not really had a good listen to that song...if only cos i somehow now always associate it with Spiderman. :shame:

i'm online now...& i see you're online too... ;) Madonna & Michael Hutchence are what's missing...heh well, i quite like both. but i think in the case of Ray of Light, it's definitely been reworked (pun not really intended) to be more "rock" sounding. for New Sensation, i believe it's been toned down somewhat, or at least it seems that way to me, compared to the energy of the INXS one (if i remembered that song right). & thanks a lot for that link, Jen! :D Chasing Cars sounds so lovely...& some great close ups of how he plays it. tho i'm left wondering why his fingers move around so much considering he's only really playing the same 2 strings throughout... :\ & Bianca, i agree with you! that interviewer looks real funny...especially when he's got a super serious deep in concentration look on his face (like some pretentious arty farty type who's trying to make some deep semiotic association to the song's words than there really is) as Gary talks about how he came up with the song.

i think the re-mastered CDs are more for newer/younger fans to have a chance at getting hold of the older U2 albums, especially those from the 80s. ;) those are rather hard to find in the days before all these re-issues.

yeah, but the thing with China, they don't like artistes who have ever had any involvement with anything against the way they do things. they did ban Oasis cos Noel happened to have once taken part or performed at an event that had some anti-China tone to it. & Bono is quite the prominent campaigner of a few causes...i would not be surprised if he's stepped on their sensitive toes already at some point.

Just Say Yes or an even newer song? :sneaky: haha...same here! i went walking around & realised that the venue in Bristol is ridiculously close to where i'm now staying...which has led me to occasionally take a walking route which involves passing by the venue just for the fun of it when i'm headed into the shops/market. :P ...now all i need to do is pray super hard with fingers & toes crossed that i do not get a programming assignment due on that particular Friday. cos i cannot bear to have to spend my entire Friday evening til 9PM sat in the labs trying to meet the deadline...which was what happened to me & my coursemates the Friday that just passed. :dead:

^ this! kinda makes me wish at times that either i was born a decade or so earlier so i'd have gotten to see U2 before they got as big as they are now or just wishing that they weren't (arguably?) the biggest bands in the world. :P actually, in my case, wanting to go to a U2 show is already a headache. i've heard that the reason they don't ever tour in Asia besides Japan (i can't really recall if they've ever done a show in Taiwan or Hong Kong...the only other possible Asian countries western artistes regularly tour) is because most Asian promoters can afford the cost of bringing U2 to their country. of course, this is just what i've heard...but i think there is some truth to it. :thinking:

McFly are the UK version of Jonas Brothers (kind of...they aren't brothers) just lesser known. & there is no way in hell that any self respecting music lover could honestly approve of ANY McFly song being "Song of the Decade"...even the Absolute Radio DJs are saying that the voting's been hijacked by McFly fans. that's the only sane explanation for it. :P

which ones are you stuck on Ilione? the only tougher ones i'm kinda sure of are these : Q : Name the Belle and Sebastian drummer who originally played on Snow Patrol's first single Starfighter Pilot and has now returned as a member of touring party A : Richard Colburn (as per Wikipedia...i personally don't know much about Belle and Sebastian beyond that they were on the same Jeepster label as SP) Q : Which track that features on 'Up To Now' features an air-raid siren, the only Snow Patrol track to have featured that sound? A : Post Punk Progression (or PPP) - very confident of the song, since i have it on my WinAmp...but i'm not entirely sure what would be the right answer since i know the song as "Post Punk Progression" but the tracklisting on Up To Now is stated as "PPP" only. :shame: Q : Where did the band play a show in a strip pub (the pole having to be unscrewed to fit the drumkit on stage)? ok...i am quite stuck on 2 particular questions in this week's round of the Pub Quiz. there's one that's asking what song Gary performed acoustic amongst the crowd in the recent UK & Ireland arena tours which really stumped me, then i found these 2 videos on YouTube...so could this be the answer dear SP gurus? the new album's looking good. i liked Pale Horses & there was a D&B mix of One Time We Lived available for d/l recently. tho so far i love Play the most amongst his albums. Porcelain, Natural Blues are classics. :)
