Who on earth is buying this garbage?
the winners were a dance group...hardly something you can market a music CD on. & look what happened with that George kid from the previous BGT - also a dance act....but managed to come up with an album with him rapping/singing/whatever, complete with music video.

What are you reading right now?
haha...awesome!!! :D it's SO bordering on hentai...especially how you switch the Chobits on. :wink3: i'm currently reading The Long Way Down by Ewan McGregor & Charley Boorman. more of a travelogue than serious fiction writing. but i thought their 1st book/adventure was pretty interesting to read. else i'm waiting for Terry Pratchett's Unseen Academicals to be out in paperback (i.e. cheaper & more portable) form. :D

*sigh* have to agree with you there, Anna! :bigcry: i don't really have any other SP gigs to compare with, but i'd say that the songs played on this tour, particularly the reworkings of the old/familiar songs are just something else heard live & loud... :wacky:

Wireless router networking connection problem!
that's an example of what happens when techies geek out on the non-techies... :P but that's good that you're more/less up & running now...aside from getting your sis to test the wireless. :D you should be good if the Wireless LED is already lighting up normally...i don't think you need to worry about the WAN not lighting up seeing as you didn't plug anything in anyway.

Hello Malaysia!
haha....not really. it'd be better if i actually could remember more clearly how to do the stuff i was trying to tell you to do. have a look around the Lowyat.net forums anyway. since it's a local forum you might just find the answer or detailed steps to your problem more easily there. ;)

Wireless router networking connection problem!
since it wasn't working when it was on the Dynamic IP (DHCP) option, i'd suggest to give it a try on PPPoE this time.

same... rather blue-ish pix, but here's some screencaps i took from the Up To Now DVD...if only for the bromance-y moment. ...cos i'm trying to get my mind off my binary tree assignment right now...it's giving me a frigging headache. :P & Anna, i do believe that that's your name that's been mentioned on TheThirdBar.com!!! :D

U2

Wireless router networking connection problem!
& i think DHCP should be enabled on the D-Link router only (i.e. disabled on the Billion modem). the router should also be the one handling the PPPoE stuff for going online on Streamyx.

Apparently Im getting this...
agreed. netbooks are also great if you like to bring a laptop out with you to surf the Internet at school, cafes, buses, etc. your shoulders will thank you for giving up that 13" Macbook for a lighter load. mine did. ;)

The Snow Patrol Thread
i think i heard someone doing an MJ-ish yelp there? :laugh3: haha...someone yelled very loudly "It's Bristol!" when Gary mentioned Brighton at Colston Hall. he told the person to "chill your ham" (or something weird like that...it's apparently an Irish saying) after saying that he did know they're in Bristol...he was just trying to say something about the Brighton gig. now that's embarassing! :P

U2
my fave is U2 performing I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For with Bruce 'The Boss' Springsteen at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! :D (despite how dodgy looking Bono's hair was looking then :P) [ame= ] [/ame] i loved No Line On The Horizon on first listen...especially the title track. but i didn't really get into How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb...still haven't really. so i guess i'm the other way round of you...hah

Hello Malaysia!
yummmmm......hungry.............. i'm trying to make my own teriyaki tuna tonite...the marinade tastes nice...just hope i don't screw up the cooking part. :P i'm not a fan either. but i tend to listen to all sorts of music. so i've got some of his songs that i actually like...'An Jing' is one, the others are 1 song from the Initial D movie & one called 'Common Jasmine Orange' (no idea what the Mandarin title is...found an English title for it & stuck to it).

Wireless router networking connection problem!
hmmm...i may be wrong on this...but i think your DHCP Server shouldn't be the same as your Default Gateway if everything was set up fine. btw, it's just a hunce of mine that it might be the modem's just not set to the right mode cos i had a similar problem in Singapore when i connected a router to my existing ADSL modem. anyway, in order to change the modem to bridge mode, you need to be connected directly to the modem 1st & access the modem setup page, which you can access by just typing "192.168.0.1" (or something similar...it should be mentioned with your modem documentations in any case) into your browser's address bar, if you've never done it before. these settings pages tend to differ between modems/companies, so i can't really guide you. but if you can click around on it, you should find 1 particular section/link/page that will let you change the mode (i think the choice is between "modem" or "bridge" modes). hope this works for you...or maybe winnie might have a better solution for you.

The Snow Patrol Thread
fair enough. but if you see most of the interviews for/about Up To Now lately, the guys generally emphasise that it isn't meant to be a "Best Of" compilation...especially when the stuff from their early years don't quite qualify as hits in the first place & neither are the Reindeer Section stuff, tbh. so it's not really a run off the mill thing... & i think right now the only other band that can do something like what SP have done is Elbow (then again, it seems like they are already doing something like that). it's a bit harder for Coldplay to do a similar type of "looking back at our career" thing when their debut album already was their breakthrough hit album. thank you again for the fingers crossing, Jen!!! :D i'll return the favour one day for you too, for sure. ;) & i know i've already said it, but i really love the new versions of those 2 songs too! that chant-y bit for Chasing Cars...*sigh* :wacky: saw your video of One Day Like This...brilliant stuff! :D & yay for you & Anna!!! your effort paid off!!! was there a lot of people waiting also, like you were expecting? a shame that you didn't get to meet Gary tho....guess it looks like we each missed out on 1 of the SP guys...he didn't come out at all?
