Am I The Only One That Has This?
I've got the Back to the start-dvd. It's rubbish. 1,5 hours; about 30 seconds of it was Chris talking about Oxfam (or something like that) while putting on deodorant, and the rest of it is just random, ugly, sweaty people in bad lighting talking about the band, while almost-coldplay music is playing in the background....

Post pictures of the gorgeous Chris
oooooh, on the South Bank show, my heart completely melted when he sat by the piano, showing how he came up with Clocks... he was like a kid, so happy and excited.... aaahhh, bless him

Wedding Bells - Possible new song
I love it so much, and i hope it makes it on to the next album, but i don't think it sound like a Parachutes-song at all. It sounds like all new chilled out acoustic love song - Coldplay :laugh3: if i'd compare it to anything, it would be green eyes, or maybe reign of love.

The 5th Coldplay album
I'll have to agree with 1st poster here, I really believe and hope that this is going to be their career-defining album, the one that will - like said - cement their legacy. It really feels like it. They've developed so much as musicians and songwriters, and i don't think that they'll go back (and i really hope not) and do "Parachutes ii". I love Parachutes, it stands on it's own very well, so let it be, and move on. I'm so fucking exicted about LP5, they better not let me down! But i defiinitely don't think that they will take a step backwards quality-wise. They learned from X&Y, and they have it in them to be legendary, so if the next album doesn't do it for them, the album after that will. AND NO WAY ARE THEY GONNA STOP AFTER LP5!! I'LL KILL THEM IF THEY DO! But it would actually be nice with a less... hyped up album, and with less exposure. I mean, Viva was insane. If you looked at top 10 most searched for songs 2008 at LastFM or Lyricwiki, 6 or 7 of them would be CP- songs from Viva. Don't know if it's possible though, to get a more, hm... commercially toned down album. This is after all, Coldplay - biggest selling act in the world... But I have a great feeling about this album, as soon as they changed the website you just felt that they're moving on into a new era, Viva is in the past now, and it's looking pretty damn good ahead...

coldplay in a new copyright case?!
This guy should be sued. He's the plagiarist. He's copying trying-to-sue-coldplay-for-ridiculous-reasons. :dozey:

25-Aug-2009: Hannover Stadium, Hannover - Tickets, Previews, Meetups, Reviews/Photos
Hm, that thing about Chris leaving the stage... look, i know he has a temper and all that, but i find it hard to believe that he would keep 40 000 people waiting cause he's a bit pissed of. Maybe his earpiece wasn't working properly or something like that, so he couldn't hear himself.

22-Aug-2009: Olympic Stadium, Stockholm - Tickets, Previews, Meetups, Reviews/Photos
:) thanks for your sympathy. i looked for some last minute-train tickets, but the few that were left were all so expensive, and i don't have much money. And i don't have a driver's license (which i of course now curse myself for not getting during the summer, like i had planned), so there really was nothing to do.... i'm sad, but i seriously would have DIED if i didn't have the wembley concert in a month.

Coldplay & U2 --- Discussion
Well yeah, they did the iTunes thing, but I don't think that's really compareable with other commercials, because with the iTunes commercial, they're actually promoting the album, their own music, not a product. So I don't think it's selling out in the same sense as if it would have been a GAP-commercial. But no i really don't think they should do commercials, I respect them so much for having the point of view they have abou their music. As for U2 compared to Coldplay... well I really don't think that they sound like U2 at all... I mean, yeah Jonny uses the same technique as The Edge, but honestly that's just about as far as the similarities go. Yes, they're in the same genre, but so are a lot of bands. U2 have their own sound, and Coldplay don't copy that, they have thier own as well, which is completely different. And I just get so sick of people, especially journalists who consistently have to compare Coldplay to U2 ALL THE FREAKING TIME!! Always these sneaky little comments like "Well, Chris Martin is no Bono, even if he wishes to be" or "That's not how U2 would have done it" Well :censored:!! The only song that actually sound like it could have been a U2 song is Lovers in Japan, other than that, their sounds are different, and I could never mistake a Coldplay song for a u2 song. Sry about the rant, had to ventilate somewhere :P

What Coldplay songs did you hate at first, but later came to love?
Me too! They don't even like it themselves, I don't undertand it! It's absloutely stunning and heartbreaking and brilliant and the piano is amazing, his voice is brilliant, the guitar, everything about it is SO GOOD!
-
Anyones tickets for wembley arrived yet?
Oh I feel relieved, mine haven't arrived yet, and I'm really paranoid about it as well. But nice :) they will come in september then.

What Coldplay songs did you hate at first, but later came to love?
Yes, for me. Now i asbolutely love it because of Chris' low voice. Politik i didn't like either, now it's one of my favs. And I recently discovered that A whisper isn't that bad at all. And for some reason I didn't like Sparks :stunned: How could you not? But, if we turn it around, I can say that I adored Lost! after I had first heard it, now I can't stand it, I seriously want to tear my hair out as soon as the song starts. :\

"Strawberry Swing" video - RELEASED! (20th July 2009)
OMG this is the best video ever! I started laughing so much, first when chris got swallowed by that sea monster , and there was a fish or something walking around in its stomach :D Brilliant. And then when he started fighting with those... Skull-thingys, it was just so random. Actually I was laughing through the whole thing :D:D:D IT'S SO GOOOOD!!

Omegle
Hahah the Coldplay-thing actually worked for me one time. why doesn't coldplay play "yes" live?
Well... it's not really a "live"-song is it. I mean, it's good, but the whole sound is very studio, very much production. And also, I don't think that the averege Coldplay concert-goer likes this song very much. The least accessible song on the album if you ask me. Or maybe they just don't like it very much.

Scandinavia?
Stockholm is a beautiful city, and as parachutes_ said, you really should visit Gamla Stan (Old Town) when you're there. The weather in August should be very warm, if the weather's good, maybe up to 86 degrees farenheit.

YOUR ISLAND
Okay, I know this is kind of stupid, but I thought it would be fun anyway... What I thought we could do in this thread, was to gather all the if-you-were-stranded-on-an-island-and-could-only-bring-one-thing-what-would-it-be?-type questions that exist and discuss and compare.... basically best-of-lists, but more fun.:) Like, for example, if you were stranded on an island, and you got to bring an iPod with only five songs on, which songs would it be? (and every song must be from a different artist or band, so you can't take 5 Coldplay-songs) Or if you got a tv and a dvd-player with three movies to watch for the rest of your life, which three movies? I thought we could just make up list-subjects as we go, and you know, not just music/movies/books, but random stuff as well(like what Simpsons-character would you bring with you to your island, if you could only pick one). Everyone just come up with subjects, and we'll take it from there. Okay, to be a bit boring, I'll start with the first one, 5 songs from different artists/bands, I would choose: - Yellow:smug: - It's late, by Queen - Chop Suey, by System of a Down - Lazarus, by Porcupine Tree - Simon, by Lifehouse Okay... maybe this was a lame idea, I don't know.... Me and my friends do these things all the time when we don't have anything to do, and I just thought it might be fun to try here... :anxious: What do you think?

Describe a Coldplay album using only two words
A rush of blood: slick, deep Slick because it floats effortlessly and perfectly through the songs, it's brilliantly dynamic. Deep bescause although it's not exactly difficult, I reckon it's the least accessible of them all, and the most broad. I feel all the songs have a deep musical and emotional core without being so much in your face like on X&Y. You know, I have listened to this album a million times and I still feel like I haven't listened enough, like I can't get to the bottom of it, or wrap my mind around it's emotional depth. To me, it's classic, completely timeless.

You know you're addicted to Coldplay when...
When you have had so many and so long conversations about Coldplay with your also Coldplay-obsessed friend, that all your other friends have gone insane, and if you even think of starting a sentence with "You know, that interview with Chris..." or "What do you think about the lyric line in..." or for the billionth time argue about which album is the best, Rush of blood or Viva, will make them start screaming with frustration and hit you in the face... :stunned: I also think this one is pretty good: My techno- and metal-loving brother is always screaming at me how Coldplay suck, that they're too soft and boring, you know blah blah blah blah... So one day i was sitting in my room, with In my place blasting out of my speakers at full volume, and my brother came in and, looking all ashamed and embarrased, and mumbles something like: "What's this song called...?" "In my place" *grunting*"Hmph.... it's quite good..." and then leaves my room. Guess what song I hear blasting out of his speakers later that day? :smug: This has so far happened with In my place, Violet hill, Viva la Vida, Yellow, Strawberry Swing and Rainy day... :sneaky: I'm gonna make him a full-blown Coldplayer, just you wait and see.... :whip:
