  1. Yeah. To be honest, I completely agree with the band's sentiment nowadays that they want to make the music that they want to, without caring about what people think; but at the same time, I remember that Viva la Vida was made almost as a response to the criticism that they received for X & Y, and then Viva la Vida turned out to be the epic album that it is; and I keep wondering whether it might make sense to actually try to hold a little bit onto that drive to prove something to people, even though they don't need to anymore.
  2. Ah damn! They're sold out already ๐Ÿ˜ž
  3. Yeah, makes sense to me. I think this definitely feels like the start of the teasing!
  4. Looking for one ticket for any of the Lyon dates (22nd, 23rd and 25th June 2024).
  5. Also just noticed that Chris has gone back to his really short haircut, and that makes me think that there's a pattern (this has possibly been pointed out before) relating his haircut to the style of the album (as hilarious as that sounds, I know! ๐Ÿ˜‚). Generally, (at least recently) shorter hair = quieter/experimental/alternative albums. I remember Chris sporting shorter hair for Ghost stories, Everyday Life, beginning of Viva la Vida as well, I think. But I don't think he had the short haircut for Mylo Xyloto and AHFOD and MOTS. Ofc, Parachutes and AROBTTH had the short haircut as well. But we can all agree that those were from another era. So can we hope for something a little more experimental again in Moon Music? That's it, that's my most overstretched idea for this year on Coldplaying. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
  6. I think they've been doing that off late. But not necessarily close to the release date. But either way, they did just announce the name of MOTS vol. 2: Moon Music. But they also said that it's a while away. So at this point, I don't really know what to think! ๐Ÿ˜…
  7. True! But going back on topic with this page, it definitely looks like the new LP or at least an EP is coming out very soon. It's starting to look like way too much promo just for a tour. We've got two known interviews coming up in the next 24hrs, so let's see what comes out of that!
  8. I hope they also give us an extended version of the Biutyful outro that they did in the early few shows of the tour, and which is also in the music video before the post credits scene. The guitar on that outro is just so good; I hate that the outro isn't part of the song! Wishful thinking though, I know. They definitely won't have an outro for Biutyful in their next album ๐Ÿ˜…
  9. Yeah, I was also thinking about possible click track issues. I remember really loving how fix you started, and the mix was sounding beautiful on that song. Most of their old songs sounded fine actually: scientist, vlv, clocks like you mentioned, etc.
  10. I realise the gravity of what I'm about to say, and I am going to risk saying it nevertheless: Weirdly, this song is my favourite track off the album. That vocal melody is an absolute ear worm, and the instrumentation and mix is top notch. And somehow, I don't mind the pitched voice at all. It's really pushing limits in terms of what is considered sonically pleasant, but I'm gladly accepting these new boundaries (or lack thereof).
  11. Also, I just wanted to check with everyone else about what they're thinking about the performance. To be honest, I'm not sure if the issue lies with the really bad mixes off-late for Coldplay's live streams and TV appearances, or if they're still warming up to playing the new songs live; but has anyone else felt like they're falling out of time with each other just by a little bit in the new songs? I mean, mistakes and bum notes are okay once in a while, and I'm not referring to that, but there are times when they're not landing together on beat at times, albeit just by a little bit. I don't notice this as much with the older songs, which is why I'm thinking that it could also just be them warming up to playing MOTS songs live. I might be reading into this a little too much, but at the end of the concert, when they were gathering for their bow, I think Chris was a little disappointed about the performance, especially coloratura; he's talking to Will a little seriously, and later while walking off stage, Will (in his typical, lovely, wonderful way) pats Chris on the back and seems to be saying, 'it's okay'. I might really be reading too much into this actually. ๐Ÿ˜… But having said all this, it nevertheless was really great to watch them perform live to a big audience again, and honestly, the visuals on the roof were just amazing. I know they're going to sound great live!
  12. Hmm, I doubt it to be honest. Looking at how much they are promoting Higher Power right now and with the video coming out early next month, I'm thinking they wouldn't want attention to be driven away from Higher Power already. I guess it's going to be some of the previous hits, a cover and Higher Power. A maximum of 9 songs, I'd say. From one of the recent interviews, I remember someone mentioning rehearsing The Scientist (can't remember who it was now), so that's going to be in the set.
  13. Now that was a great performance of Higher Power! Damn! Those fireworks made an already energetic song so much more powerful! But hang on, was this really live, or did they use the footage from last week when they rehearsed? Because I'm really wondering how they managed to have the (wonderful) ambiguous dancing company VFXed into a live stream. I also loved the camera flying through the fireworks in the chorus. Whenever they get back to tour, it's going to be amazing!
  14. Oooh! I'm excited! This is the first time I'm tuning into a live stream of a Coldplay performance since the early festival shows of MX. (Coincidence then, that I'm catching them live for what could very likely be MX pt. 2?). Well, actually, I did watch the live broadcast of EL live in Amman, but for some reason I think of that broadcast as a film, rather than a streamed live concert. Also, I can't imagine watching this stream alone, so I had to post here and say hello to everyone else who's watching along!
  15. I really liked it, right from the first listen! Iโ€™m a bit of a sucker for 80s music, so that definitely played a part! I also enjoyed chris doing the same dance steps as the dancers during the chorus of the song in the video?
  16. Just spotted this on Rik Simpson's insta. It was posted two days ago!
  17. Something's definitely brewing. They're being a little more active nowadays (in terms of making themselves visible on social media) with the iHeart performance and now the Instagram live performance. They wouldn't want to reappear in the public eye like this just to drop by and say hello. Something's definitely coming, and soon! It will be really interesting to see how they work things around the pandemic, but I'm sure they won't keep their plans on pause for much longer (besides touring of course).
  18. Could it by any chance be their dorm from university? I think I saw something similar from the AHFOD documentary.
  19. Suhit replied to grids's topic in The Lounge
I absolutely agree (Hello everyone btw!) I'm always going to keep coming back to the forum. I would like to visit more often, but growing up and having lots of work sucks (not really, I'm grateful for it, but you know what I mean). This community has really helped me fight some demons and has made me feel welcome all the time. Now it's time to happy cry a bit and keep my keyboard away from my tears.
  20. Oh, I've come really late to this news. Is it possible for someone to DM me the song please?
  21. Has anyone managed to watch the Road to Jordan video on Youtube Premium? EDIT nvm, found it!
  22. Marianna Champion has done backing vocals on the song Everyday Life. That's Will's wife, yes?
  23. Looks like Viva la Vida won the poll on Coldplay's youtube community page :| (Check top right corner of the image) I have a feeling they shipped the viva drum and bell kit by mistake to Jordan so then they rigged the poll to make the most of it. Unless the bell is for the Sunrise-Sunset Interludes and the drums come attached to it.
  24. Not sure if this was mentioned earlier in this thread. I had skipped a few pages in the middle. But doesnโ€™t Trouble in Town sound like it was composed at around the same time as E-Lo? Especially with the slightly distorted drum at the end, and the kidsโ€™ chanting. It sounds very similar to E-Lo there.
