I'm not really a poet, but I wrote this for my friend a couple days ago and I ended up liking it: we were listening to elvis on the radio in the back of your room. "you ain't nothing but a hound dog, crying all the time." except we were laughing. we were bouncing on your bed, the springs creaking with every jump and the sheets twisting alongside our feet. see, you are john and i am yoko so we tumbled on the mattress and wrestled and protested. "make love, not war! make love, not war! move love, not peace!" and we banned any frown pressed against the sheets. the world might not like me but i love you. you are the king - the king of pop with his arms stretched out. i'm only a prince, but i'm okay with that because doves never cry and you're always going to be my billie jean. i screamed. i shrieked because i am mama cass. i am strong and confident and bigger than the world. like janis riding her mercedes benz. the world open into fields of strawberries into rolando beach. you turned the dial on the radio and opened your eyes to the mess we made. i am only a small, skinny, girl from texas. and you are miles away.

I'm extatic that my favorite producer of all time worked with my favorite band! But I've always been a bit of an Eno fangirl and I rambled on for weeks about this when I heard the news. It was like one of the best things I could ever imagine. Also, I love Coldplay's new record, so there's always that... If I was ever a musician, I'd kill to have Eno produce my record. But that's just me.

I haven't come seen any big reason why they named themselves DEAR AND the Headlights. Everytime they're asked in interviews they just say it was a play on words. But there are a lot of weirder band names out there.
