How would you know that those bands are the only you really enjoy listening to if you don't buy music from or download music of any other bands?

I hear the radio basically every day on the bus and all that. Though generally if I don't have to I prefer just listening to my Ipod or a CD.

On a local radio station they play Pumped Up Kicks all the time, which is nice cause I like that song and this band. But the extremely annoying people who talk on the station in the morning were complaining about how they thought the song was an innocent happy song because there is "whistling and it reminds them of their sneakers they'd wear when they were children". And then they said they were really disappointed when they listened closely and heard the word gun in the song.

To clarify I do love Devendra Banhart and that video I was just using it as an example. You're saying it like your opinion is just fact though. You don't even say your criteria for DECIDING it is simply bad though. People can just enjoy it even if it lacks seriousness.
