  1. Edit : I had no idea you could spray paint the wings! So I made a prettier one :)
  2. Same here! At first I didn't want to know about the video because I told myself it's much more exciting not to know about it and suddently I can read that it is an awesome video that is supposed to be finished tomorrow, that may be released next week and "consist of a lot of animation" ...?! And many other things... It kind of raises my curiosity now :D I wander if that "animation" thingy has something to do with the colorful ETIAW lyrics we could see in the mysterious muted videos, just before they released the single :P
  3. The same person (under the nickname "chalky08") posted comments 1 hour ago on youtube (on the ETIAW official video) : " i was on set filming this today! The video gets released next week! it is brilliant! It was great, it consist of a lot of animation, it was so fun to watch everything. I got talking to chris and everything :) Im not aloud to give to much information as i signed a confidential form but Im going back tomorrow as its the last day of the shoot and it should be released some time next week. But its such a fab video." Oh this is going to be awesome! I hope this person will have fun on the last day of filming as well! It's getting very exciting!
  4. Ok that Radio 1 listener is awesome "Hello, I just want you to play the new Coldplay song!" :wacky: It's 12:00 here... It feels strange  . Only 50 mins left!!
  5. I was reading your message while listening to the radio and at the EXACT second when I read "something like Speed of Sound or Clocks" they started playing Speed of Sound :stunned: :laugh3: you definitely have a strong Coldplay radio related aura or something. :D I once randomly heard Speed of Sound at like 1 am on a local japanese radio... Followed by Mickael Jackson's "Black or White" and the "Imagine" from the Beatles. It felt a bit weird but I was glad "Speed of Sound" was part of the classics for the radio djs :wacky:
  7. Fortunately I'm done with my exams, which will enable me to listen to ETIAW all day long starting at 1pm on Friday
  8. Aww YOU are welcome ! I'm glad I could help you discovering some new bands :). And I'm sorry for the tracks that weren't so good to you ... I wish I knew it before mixing actually, so I'd have chosen other songs to put on my tape :sweatdrop: . But anyway, yay for you being so open minded and nice ! Oh, just in case my mixtape maker is passing by... ( :curtain: ) my review is on page 52 ! *is still optimistic about getting a tracklist :D *
  9. I'm sorry for the delay. Thank you very much for your review ! I'm your mixtape maker :) . Haha I'm sorry, this was my very first attempt at doing this so I had absolutely no perspective nor experience and no clue about how to organize the tracks etc ... :sweatdrop: . I'm glad you liked it as a whole though, and I can undertand why you did not really like some of them. Reading your review was very instructive, really ! :) Thanks again for making such a complete review !! Here is the tracklist : (Quick announcement btw, I'm desperately waiting for my mixtape maker's tracklist, my review is on page 52 :D ) Track 1 : Rufus Wainright - The Dream I adore this song, I find it perfect as well. I'm glad you like it as it is. :) Track 2 : NieR soundtrack - Song of the Ancients (Fate) Yeah you are right, now that you mention it the singer has a mellow voice... a bit too slow yes. She sings in a language that doesn't exist, so yeah it can be annoying after a while. Still I like how this song can be refreshing and exotic, all summery :D Track 3 : Volo - Fiston This one is about a couple breaking out : the father has to take care of their son all alone, so he is stressing out (but optimistic) about how he will manage with it, hoping her wife will come back . The whole song is basically the father explaining the situation to his son and saying things like "She knows I love her, she'll be back in no time you'll see but we'll have to stay together alone for a while, let's enjoy it " etc. Track 4 : Stornoway - Zorbing The singer's voice is simply amazing, don't you think ? But I agree it's rather long and heavy at times. Track 5 : Beirut- Un Dernier Verre (Pour la Route) Your comments about this song are relevant to me. I'm in love with this band in general. If you like this song, I'm sure you'll enjoy listening to other songs from them (especially "Elephant Gun", "Nantes", Postcards from Italy" ... :wacky: ). The singer's name is Zach Condon. Track 6 : Here we go magic - Collector A nice little song, not excellent but hyper and happy to me Track 7 : Renaud - Mistral Gagnant This is a very special song I fell in love with when I was very young. I find this huge gap between the melody and the singer’s voice really touching. He is telling us how his childhood was, it’s a song about childhood memories and how life still goes on without you being able to stop time and everything. I know it sounds a bit weird, but this singer is usually more into heavier things/harsh style and that’s yeah, special to hear him singing this song ! Track 8 : The Temper Trap - Sweet Disposition Haha we both agree on this one, it’s a gem, and Conditions is a great album indeed. :wacky: Track 9 : Air - Once upon a time This song is out of phase with I don’t know… time. I see why it could be disturbing though, maybe a bit too different from everything else :sweatdrop: . Oh, that voice ! It’s a guy singing  . But it’s hard to tell when you don’t know, really ! ^^”” Track 10 : Patrick Watson - The Great Escape Yes the little tune along with the lyrics work pretty well here, I admit it is a bit depressing but beautiful overall. Track 11 : Stereophonics - Forever Exactly that’s it, easy to listen to and mainstream , yet not that simple I guess. Track 12 : Gomez - See the World I admit this one is pretty famous and recognizable (with an awesome video^^). I totally agree with you. Track 13 : Nujabes Feat. Shing02 - Luv (sic.) pt.3 Ok,at first I didn’t know whether to put this one on my tape or not, if it would be ok because there’s such a musical twist to handle between track 12 and 13  . for me it was you know the kind of song that makes you think “that’s not just rap”…. The lyrics on this one is what affected me the most. Track 14 : Beach House - Take Care You are right, sorry I don’t know why the infos were still here :curtain: . A bit long indeed. Once again you described the song really well  Track 15 : House Rulez - City Lights N Seoul Best elevator music ever don’t you think ? I wanted the tape to end with that song from the start, I don’t know why …
  10. I'm done with my review, but I could have said many other things about what I've heard... The tape I received was very eclectic and so, so interesting to listen to ! I am a very lucky girl. That was a great experience *_* Yep, let me tell you mixtape partner that you have awesome music tastes ! I personally think the tape you have made is a gem. Oh, and don't worry mixtape maker, you were right to send me a massive tape, I do appreciate it ! :wacky: Firstly I'd like to apologize for my poor English :sweatdrop: I'm afraid it may be a bit messy and bad written from time to time (if not always :embarrassed: ). Well if you are not afraid of the length then ... here we go : Track 1 : Wooo what a start ! That alarm at the beginning and at the end and that “let’s go” feeling is just awesome and to put it as the 1st song of this mixtape was a brilliant idea, it’s very appropriate. It’s a very accessible song and nice to listen to, no matter what. The voice is a bit unclear, but relaxing. Good song to listen to while on a journey to me. I love the echo in this song. Track 2 : Oh that song, I’ve already heard it like a thousand times but I can’t get enough of it, very, very good choice !!! How can you not dance to this song? It is just so catchy from beginning to end, and has that classy sound/western style that I don’t know…sounds so right. The subtlety of the guitars, the beat and rhythm, the voices, everything is well balanced, this song is very fresh and has a young/bouncy side to it. I’d say it’s the kind of song you could easily play at camp, guitar/voice around the fire and sing with your friends. That crescendo at the end is :wacky: too. LOVE IT !!! Track 3 : This track sounds original/unusual to me but but there’s that surprisingly good association of instruments (violins adding a lyrical side to the song, xylophone, tambourine ? etc ) that makes it unique. At first I thought it was an instrumental. I found it very ”rich” at times without getting heavy, at other times very simple and sincere (due to the handover between the players and the singer all along the song). It sound unpretentious and it’s a wonder for your ears. You get that overwhelming emotion of adventure when all the instruments can be heard together and then when it stops, a lost/depressed voice is breaking through. Strangely enough It’s a continuity, the song doesn’t break up in several parts but has 2 sides to it. An unleashed side and a quiet one. Seems like there’s no beginning nor end to this song, it could go on forever, but the abrupt ending and leaves me with an empty sensation, as if it was left uncompleted/unfinished. I am not sure but is there any balkanic/oriental (Indian) influences here ? ...Dancing on the grass barefeet song, much ? Track 4 : Oh, nice beat ! That’s such an upbeat song (1st thoughts). There’s a slight groovy feeling to it and the singers’ voice is awesome as it is, it’s very light and truly leading the song and there’s no need to cover it with instruments (and they didn’t, which is a good thing, I like the subtlety in this song). Love the “clap clap” sound it in. Nice party song I guess, yeah that’s a nice summer song to dance to :D Track 5 : To my mind this one is sober, classy beginning, Carefree, no problems, very soft and there’s a good flow/vibe/atmosphere to it. Mhh Jazzy ! I love the piano parts. A perfect summer song to listen to on a terrace/to chill out and to forget about your problems. It has a pretty girly chorus , the trumpet is sick and that lovely and bold voice is kind of … reassuring :) . Loved the snaps in the end as well. Great song that has grown in me little by little. Track 6 : Nice association acoustic guitar/electric guitar and drums play an important part in this. As a result that rhythm makes you shake your head without even thinking ! :D Gets more and more intense as time goes by, great guitar solo too. Oh what a nice voice ! , I found it charming as it breaks from time to time, it fits the music well here. Although it’s a high pitched voice it doesn’t get annoying at all here as I feared at the beginning, here it adds something somehow wild and natural ?! It goes wilder near the end and that acoustic guitar still playing in the background is very pleasant to hear . Track 7 : Is this song from Florence+The machine ? Awww that deep and ethereal voice is so wonderful… very mystical and expressive and well, overall organic. Interesting beat… ethnical . Yep another very interesting tune ! Bit of a stifling atmosphere but the light voice makes the whole thing well balanced . Wow it sounds like many violins are playing in this song ? Moving song (my, the violins again !). You can tell by the lyrics and sound of it that we are being told about a story, with twists all along. Imagery comes easily to one mind (especially when wearing earphones), very easy to imagine because very expressive. That’s pure epicness in the end ! Track 8 : “This is a song for anyone with a broken heart”. Woa this song is so full of compassion and hope and … Wow I fell in love with it instantly, it “hits” you I don’t know… and it’s simply breathtaking, but you have to be in the mood. Fortunately I am every time I listen to this song (and I did that many times already). It shows the singers’ fragility (it’s heartbreaking as soon as he starts singing, really) but is filled up with determination. The echo all through the song gives an awesome strength to it and the piano/guitars sound magnificent. Add a trumpet and you’ll get something very powerful . It makes me think of living a brand new life, moving out concretely and look forward to live brand new experiences . Sadness and fear disappear little by little and this song is like the ultimate cheer up song. Track 9 : Very different from the previous one. Very surprising and unusual once again. Here you have unleashed people trying hard to transmit harsh emotions (frustration, pain… The singer is cryng out with such strength, that’s very impressive). Unlike track 4, instruments (esp. the drums) and singer are complementary here. Once again I loved the piano part (haha the piano player is going crazy at times… :D ). Track 10 : Here are my very first impressions on this track : Wash of sound, audacious, a bumpy ride but still very aerial and free. Several complementary, beautiful voices that are. Very deep, electronic . A song to get lost in easily. Very “clear”. Track 11 : 80s ? Although I’ve never heard it before, nostalgy comes to my mind when I hear this, and it has a bittersweet feeling to it. Lovely “Oooooh” s by the way :wacky: . It’s all victorious and the synthetizer/guitar effects are make it well … almost magical haha :) In a retro way. Track 12 : What a surprise ! That’s Placebo right ? Again it’s very different from the previous song. Mhh that’s a rather depressive song that hurts you almost physically and make you feel down. But I like how solemn and heartfelt it sound and you can imagine something important is going on, a kind of inner fight. I also like how the woman’s voice sounds very discreet. Both of the singers’ voice go well together. Loved the line “there’s a thunder in our heart”. Track 13 : Rock’n’roll ! This song makes me go hyper. Awesome guitars here and low (sexy) voice ! :D It’s not very well “organized” but that’s what makes it sound right actually. The refrain with the electric guitars and the drums is wow … excellent. Track 14 : This one made me smile, haha it’s a funny one. Waa it sounds… psychedelic, full of surprises to me ! Funky, but not too much. :D Anyway OH the bassline is insane !!! That’s all I can say, it makes you want to get up and dance like crazy. I call it communicative joy xD Track 15 : This is the only song I didn’t really find attractive . I’m sorry, I mean it is ok to listen to but a bit basic. It is really short too, I wish it was longer ^^. Does it have country influences? I can hear they worked hard and managed very well with guitars. But I didn’t really like the singers’ voice … still it’s not bad ! I don’t hate it. Track 16 : Oooh The Corrs ! Reminds me of Ireland and my beloved Brittany too haha, with these celtic influences…I can see images of wild nature, windy fields of grass and cliffs when I listen to this song :wacky: . This is the reason why I feel so at home while listening to this. Plus it’s energetic, infectious, typical, it feels so good. :awesome: Track 17 : Ok I love you for choosing Wake Up from Arcade Fire (acoustic) and including it to your tape, I truly do. This song usually makes me cry but this version is even more touching, it’s nearly unbearable. That’s definitely my favourite song from your tracklist ! There’s so much despair in it and the lyrics are just… eye-opening, I don’t know what else to say, nothing compares to this song. Track 18 : Wow wow wow, as weird as it may sound I flew far away with this song. It is subtle and dreamy, so genuine, in a good way and it makes me want to go and discover things around me. I’m travelling without moving in a way, and that’s mind-blowing. The fantasy in this puts me in an excellent mood. I’ve never heard something like this before. That’s why it’s hardly possible for me to describe it … It’s like … from another world. It makes you realize so many things at once, it’s so… full of life ! The orchestration is marvelous in this song (the flutes :awesome: ) . I don’t know if it is but could be used in a movie. Thank you so much for this !!! Seriously, I can’t stop listening to this song. Track 19 : Well that’s without a doubt the perfect way to end this tape, so intimate and nostalgic, those square and fair memories the singer mentions . And he is here, singing alone with his acoustic guitar yet there’s nothing to add, it’s just perfect as it is. What a soft voice ! Singing that serenade, “oh mon amour, à toi toujours” etc … You made me cry so hard with this  . Well done haha ! It reminds me of Paris and old films… -sigh- You can just imagine the wooden horses of a carousel being here in front of you and children laughing . What’s more it’s romantic and …filled with love, it may sound cheesy but I kept smiling and humming all along the song. :D Nice, nice little tune. But it’s sad in a way, for it's about a lost memory… Thank you mysterious mixtaper, I had a great time listening to your tape, thank you so much  I will keep it with me preciously and keep on listening to it for a long time^^ Thanks for those who took the time to read this as well . That was such review a long review for you to read, right ? :sweatdrop:
  11. Am downloading mine, I just can't wait to listen to it  . It is most probable that I'll take my time to review the tape I've been sent though... I just don't want to rush through it, so I apologize in advance for my lateness in reviewing it :sweatdrop:
  12. ! But yeah wow, that's scary :stunned:
  13. Ladder to the sun. Yesterday my favourite one was Rainy day and the day before, it was Low.
  14. I hated this moment right before sending the tape though, when you know you can't go back... and you have that 1 second of hesitation full of what ifs and doubts.

  16. I'm done with mine :). I had no idea I could be this picky and give so much attention to the tracking order ! :stunned: But I'm glad I could have a go with a final tracklist in the end. Anyway it was a great 1st tape making experience for me, I put all my efforts in it and I hope I made at least a fine tape . :uhoh: ...Now waiting.... 62 mins = nice lengh then ?
  17. One more for me please : The Fix You lamp. :wacky: Thank you
  18. From what I can see on the 1st page Chris' laugh hasn't been claimed yet ?! :stunned: Well if not then ... I'm claiming it :wacky:
  19. Oooh thanks David for adding me to the list ! Thanks Sofia for your help ! I'm such a lucky girl. Got my partner as well !
  20. Have Chinese Sleep Chant and Reign of Love already been claimed ? If not, I claim both songs.
  21. It used to scare me a bit but not that much anymore... it looks cheap ! I guess they are proud of what they've done  . "No hemos borrado nada" = They just want to show off...?
  22. I may be (very) late but ... what if I wanted to participate ? :curtain: Applying 2 days after the deadline is not fair but well ... I'd love to give it a try :)
  23. http://www.louvre.fr/llv/pratique/plan.jsp?salle=402&niveau=3 I hope it'll help :). I heard Shiver today on the radio :stunned:
