Hm. Hopefully you'll read this before you leave. Some tips for Rome (besides the obvious tourist attractions like the forum romanum and the Colosseum, the Pantheon, Villa Borghese etc etc, which you also must visit if you've got the time): - Capuchin Crypt, Via Veneto 27 This is a bit dark and morbid, but very interesting to see. It's a small six room crypt where Capuchin monks nailed bones of dead monks are nailed to the wall in various patterns. Each room has its own function and theme. It'll cost you half an hour at most and entry is by donation so if you're in the neighbourhood this is definitely worth a visit. The crypt is near Barberini square and it's more or less in the centre of the city. Il Gesu (close to the forum romanum and Trevi) and Sant'Ignazio (Piazza di Sant'Ignazio, near Trevi fountain) are beautiful baroque churches with frescos on the walls and ceilings that look as real as anything. Especially Sant'Ignazio is very interesting to visit, because one of the frescos depicts a dome and from certain points in the church (a lot, actually), the dome looks real, even though the ceiling is flat as a pancake. Santa Maria in Trastevere (Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere) is perhaps one of the oldest churches in Europe and probably one of the first churches in Rome where mass was openly celebrated. The mosaics are very much worth seeing. Oh, and they have a part of the holy sponge, which Jesus apparently used to.. drink from (no bathing). :tongue: Santa Maria in Cosmedin (Piazza della Bocca della Verità) - forget the church (I don't actually mean that, the church is lovely), stick your hand in the Bocca della Verita and hope you'll get it back. :D The Vatican Museums, the Capitoline Museums and Villa Borghese are also good places to visit if you're interested in the classics. If you're lacking time, go for Borghese. Pompeii is awesome if you have a good guide (it's a VERY big place). Keep an eye out for the whore house, it's funny. :nice:

Lemonwooooooorld <333333333 Go see them in small venues if you can. Their performance is better suited to those than to festivals and larger venues. Can't wait to see them again, next week and also in November. Both are festivals unfortunately, but I'm not really complaining about seeing them three times in half a year. :D Arcade Fire triumphs The National hands down (depending on the location, setlist and atmosphere of course) so it's a very logical choice.

Ha, that tends to happen. But how did you not get excited about them in 2007? I have to say that's pretty difficult. :D Whaa, so they are filming the audience/band members again? The way they did that really annoyed me last times cause I couldn't spot the cameras. :tongue: But the confetti looks pretty awesome. :nice: I listened to the album for the first time last night and while I wasn't blown away, it has potential (and my father agreed). At first I was afraid it might be too long, but luckily that wasn't the case. Actually I was kind of disappointed that it ended and I immediately wanted to listen again. A good sign. In a couple of listens I'm pretty sure I'm going to LOVE the album. The only thing that kind of disappointed me was the lack of Régine. I'd expected to hear her more and while Sprawls II is pretty good, it's nowhere near In The Backseat.

Actually, that was the same year and the episodes were only days apart. :nice: I remember because I discovered them a couple of months earlier through Bones (they played Somewhere A Clock Is Ticking in a midseason episode) and I was surprised to hear Snow Patrol three times (twice GA, once ER) in barely a week. Then I really became Snow Patrol addicted. :tongue: Um, yeah. I remember a lot of weird random stuff that's not really important. :')
