  1. I really like the song Kinetic; but for some reason my iTunes labeled it as The National Anthem. No wonder I was so confused for the past few months.
  2. I've been tempted for awhile to make a thread about my annoyance of the term "African American". I understand it's meant to be "politically correct" terminology, but there's something about it that irks me. For example, I work with a guy that came from South Africa (interesting accent too... if you've seen District 9 it's exactly like that). Technically he's an African American. But do you think he's "allowed" to use that term when referring to himself? Of course not. It's almost like he has to deny his nationality, which is a shame.
  3. ^ Kind of creepy... Bigger Stronger was the first song that came on shuffle on my iTunes this morning :wtf:
  4. Not every country's public education system is like the U.S.
  5. omg then what happens to the bet? :uhoh: We'd both be wrong.
  6. :smartass2: We shall see... I suppose we'll all "win" though because we'll see them performing it FINALLY.
  7. No, I won't be jealous, because in a couple of months I'm going to win our bet and get a copy of your music signed by you so that will be super duper rare, everyone will be jealous of moi. :charming:
  8. random page search pic... from Nettie
  9. But there will actually be 2 signed copies now that I think about it... one person who bought the newspaper album will get one, and one person who only bought the digital copy (early) will get one. So that makes me think it would be in a separate package.
  10. Oh, yeah I suppose it would probably come in a different package anyway, because the signed 2-track vinyl is supposed to be 12" (the two TKOL ones are 10"). So that means there's still hope for us if it's supposed to arrive in a separate package. :D Another thing, what part of the vinyl would be signed? They wouldn't actually sign the vinyl itself would they? Because then you wouldn't want to play it to see what the music sounds like. I would hope they would sign the label on the vinyl instead of the vinyl itself.
  11. Is it wrong that I felt more "at home" in England (even in the short amount of time that I was there) than I do here? :uhoh: my ancestors came here from England on a boat in the 1600s so maybe that's why
  12. no no no no no no NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO that's what Taco Bell is for
  13. Yokay so I got my newspaper album today. Frankly I was a little miffed though because it's rainy and extremely humid outside; even though I got home relatively early and it was sitting on the covered porch, the box was still damp because of the humidity. Argh. But because of the inside packaging, it's not a huge deal (won't go into detail for those who haven't received it yet). I didn't look at it in too much detail, just for shiggles wanted to see if I got the signed vinyl...
  14. Kanye West's current (teenage) girlfriend was born in the same little town as my dad
  15. This snippet is from a Roadie #42 blog back in December for the two live shows that month: As much as anything else, getting from the beginning of the set to the end is a stress reliever for everyone concerned. After most of a year off the road, the doubts as to whether you can actually hold your end of things up the way you used to are natural. Pretty soon though, it all falls back into place. One noisy and excitable run through is all that's required to decide that it'll be fine. After all, there is such a thing as being over-rehearsed... "One run-through is fine, don't want to be over-rehearsed." That was for all old material. It seems they are rehearsing oodles for the live shows / festivals right now. Granted these will be larger crowds, but why would they not want to over-rehearse a few months ago, and then all of a sudden change their tune now? Oooh, ooh I know... because there will be new material peppered in with the old.
  16. Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Well, at least in Engerland they use real sugar instead of all this fake arse corn syrup shiznit. IF ((corn_syrup + processed_food) .eq. real_food) THEN we_are_doomed END IF
  17. our first softball practice scheduled for tonight has just been cancelled; it's been rainy, and it might thunderstorm
  18. And this is what happens when a midget has to put up with a giant. 4:40-5:27, particularly at 5:23; and that's even after the giant lowered the microphone a bit.
  19. Critics say it's time to hang up the yellow jumper NEW YORK (AP) - Ronald McDonald is having a midlife crisis. His floppy shoes, painted-on smile and flaming-red hair may be a harder sell to today's kids who are trading in their dolls and trucks for manicures and mobile game apps at ever younger ages. He also seems out of step with McDonald's Corp.'s new efforts to appeal to adults. The 48-year-old spokesclown has fallen flat in new ads this year, according to Ace Metrix, a group that tracks TV advertising. http://www.wxyz.com/dpp/news/critics-say-it%27s-time-to-hang-up-the-yellow-jumper __________________________________ Man Eats 25,000th Big Mac, 39 Years After His 1st A retired prison guard ate his 25,000th Big Mac on Tuesday, 39 years to the day after eating his first ... nine. Don Gorske was honored after reaching the meaty milestone during a ceremony at a McDonald's in his hometown of Fond du Lac. Surely McDonald's most loyal customer, Guinness World Records recognized Gorske's feat three years and 2,000 Big Macs ago, and the 57-year-old says he has no desire to stop. "I plan on eating Big Macs until I die," he said. "I have no intentions of changing. It's still my favorite food. Nothing has changed in 39 years. I look forward to it every day." http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/WaterCooler/wireStory?id=13624305
  20. I agree. And I think a lot of other Americans would agree with that.
