  1. How funny... a shot of him live and on the "Terryvision"!
  2. Really? I'd be interested in seeing that video too, I didn't know about it. I would think that would be kind of hard to see, since there was that curtain thingy in front of them when they had the sparklers, but I suppose people in the front rows would have a good view of something like that.
  3. Whoa, that sounds just like our "spring training" when I was in high school! Our team was pretty hard core. We went to Florida during our school's spring break and had practice for 8 hours each day in Ft. Myers. I did have a bit of a sunburn my first time at spring training, the sunrays are more direct there than in Michigan, and I wasn't used to that.
  4. Okay, so here's the little update. 3 days later it's still bad and actually getting worse, super red, and now there's really bad swelling in my lower legs. The swelling is so bad that my shoes wouldn't fit. I had to stop by Kmart on the way to work to pick up some black slippers, one higher size, and even they were a bit tight by the end of the day. It got to the point that I could barely walk because my lower legs were so swollen and the skin was so tight, so I couldn't really bend my knees and ankles. I went to the clinic to see if there was anything else I can do, and it turns out that I have borderline second degree burns. They gave me 2 shots (one steroid to reduce swelling, another one for pain). Then they gave me an antibiotic prescription (in case there's an infection, and the steroid reduces the immune response), and also an oral steroid prescription. And that's on top of continuing with aloe vera, cold compression, and ibuprofen, ugh. They told me if it doesn't get better in 3 days to come back again. I'm not sure what they would do at that point, though. It sucked because tonight was our playoff games in softball, and I obviously couldn't play. :bigcry:
  5. I had mine removed a couple of years ago. I had avoided it for a long time, I didn't think I needed to since I never really had any problems other than an occasional sore throat when they would go through a growth/shifting spurt. Even though they didn't hurt, my bottom ones were growing in toward my other teeth (forward), so even though they weren't causing me problems at the time, it would eventually lead to decay and all sorts of other nasty stuff because things would get all jacked up. So anyway, they took out all 4 at once. They gave me the laughing gas stuff, then numbed my mouth, and then started an I.V. for conscious sedation (if that is offered, DO IT). The dentist that did it was pretty awesome because on top of that, they had a tool that was like a tiny vibrating spatula, which they could slide between the gums and tooth to easily loosen the teeth, which decreases the "shock" to the tissue (i.e., no chipmunk mouth). They had difficulty with one of the teeth and I was aware of them yanking it out, pulling to and fro. It was funny because I knew what they were doing even though I was sedated, but I didn't care because I didn't feel any pain. I was like, "yay, go dentist, pull pull pull!" Of course I could only say that in my head. After I got home (hubby drove me because of the sedation, obviously) I had to change the gauze on all 4 spots as they instructed. Of course blood starting gushing everywhere on my shirt and in the sink and I was like, "wweeeeehhhooooooo, awesome!" and my husband freaked out, but he's just a wussy like that. They prescribed a concoction of Vicodin and something else that had to be taken at certain intervals, although I hardly took any of the Vicodin because a) my pain wasn't really that bad imo, and b) I just plain don't like taking stuff like that (on the odd chance of becoming addicted). It sucked that I couldn't really eat solid food for a few days (since all of them were removed at the same time), so I just had nutrition shakes for awhile. I must say I had a better overall experience compared to my sister, she dealt with the whole chipmunk thing, dry rot (eeewww), etc. I would say if you have to have them out, do them all at once instead of 2 at a time. Might as well get it over with instead of going through it twice.
  6. * runs to cupboard to bathe finger in Nutella jar * om nom nom
  7. Time. Because I don't always know exactly how far away places are, so it's just easier to say, "it should take you x minutes/hours to get there."
  8. Oh but you see, they already did go to Walmart... and this was the result  :freak:
  9. I couldn't really get a good perspective on my legs since there was no definitive before/after spot. So instead I just took a picture near my shoulder from the bathing suit line. Keep in mind a) the lighting here doesn't really show how red it is, b) my legs are worse than this, and c) this was worse yesterday. Ugh.
  10. I'm mostly right-handed, except when it comes to swinging a softball bat. I'm not sure how I turned out to be a left-handed batter, although I do have a theory. When I was a babeh and my dad was teaching me how to bat, I was facing him, so when I modeled him it was kind of like a mirror. He was probably too excited to correct me and so I just ended up swinging the bat left-handed from that point on.
  11. Yes, my name is Carrie :nice: Don't worry about too much plugging, I'm sure many people would do the same if they were in your shoes. I can kind of relate based on my own squee-iness back in January and February, so it's okay. ;)
  12. I'm sorry, this just made me laugh. I suppose this means a) she was laying facing the ground, and b) her butt was exposed (for a significant amount of time).
  13. Yeah, I can't wait until it peels. I'll probably have big sheets of dead skin, enough to make a nice lampshade. If I think about it later when I get home I might post a picture of the skin color difference.
  14. LMAO... the wal-mart comment! :laugh3:
  15. So this weekend, as a result of my own momentary lack of judgment, I got a really bad sunburn. I'm talking BAD. Lobster bad. I went tubing on a river for 5 hours without sunblock, so the front of my arms/chest/legs are all fried. My arms and chest hurt a bit, but it's the legs that hurt the most since they typically don't get much exposure to the sun. The pain on my legs is SO intense. I could barely sleep on Sunday night because of the pain. And yesterday whenever I tried to stand up, it felt like my legs were being torched. Plus I had this odd, even more painful, sensation that my legs were being crushed by a ton of bricks and they were about to snap like twigs. I'm not sure what that's all about. Anyway, I'm interested to hear your stories... do recall your worst sunburn?
  16. Lore's back! :nice: coo...
  17. ^ Craig, maybe you should just buy another one for reading purposes. I'm sure Matt wouldn't mind the extra sale.
  18. I'm out of town and borrowing someone else's computer right now... sorry this couldn't be more exciting but HAPPY BIRTHDAY WILL!!! :awesome:

  21. velcome :vampire: How many years is "many many" years?
  22. Are ALL of them in NYC? I thought only Chris and Jonny were there? Of course, I haven't exactly been following the details... and are they still there, or back home? I imagine at least Will is home, since his birthday is tomorrow.
