Tell me something about you that I don't know
I think I'm getting more self-conscious by the day, and it's starting to get really hard. There are lots of things that I would like to do, but I'm just too afraid. I seriously hate myself.

Have they lost their minds?
Whether it is a good change or not is a matter of opinion. That's not to say that I love the new stuff and will defend it to the ends of the earth; I still like the first two albums the best. But I also think that it's pretty immature for people to see Coldplay's new direction as personal attack against their fans. They can't tailor their music to what a handful of fans want to hear, they are going to write what they want to write and there's not much we can do about it.

Natalia Imruglia's "Fun" = Paradise Violin's!
Yes but at least he copied himself. :P

Have they lost their minds?
To everyone who is complaining about Coldplay moving in a new direction I have this to say: I totally see where you are coming from because I prefer their older stuff as well, however, if they had never changed their music and had played the same kind of stuff forever, you would all be complaining that all of their music is the same! People change, things change, music changes. Get over it.

SERIOUS OPINIONS
I like the song, but definitely will never be one of my favourites. It's fairly catchy, but more of a sad-catchy rather than a happy-catchy song (if that makes any sense!!). I love the instrumentals all the way through, especially the strings in the beginning. However I think that the lyrics could have been better. I like some of them, but there are others that I was kind of ehhhhh about. The "para-para-paradise" sounds like something that could be used in a tv-show promo, so I'm sure we will be hearing it somewhere. I don't think it will make it to the radio very often (at least not where I live, where only the top 20 charts are played!), and I can't see it being a huge favourite among fans, but it's definitely growing on me.
-
What do you think of the new song 'Paradise'?
Well I've only listened to it once, so my first impression is to give it a 7. It's not my favourite Coldplay song and it's not my least favourite. I'm sure it will grow on me as do most songs. I have to say that I like the "every tear is a waterfall" lyric, because I love how they also carry over certain lyrics between songs. I love the instrumentals at the beginnning.
