  1. Doesn't surprise me. That will be lovely for any relatives to read. I don't think too much detail is required in this case, a woman has been beheaded, you don't need much more information. It's only to sell papers. Pricks.
  2. I like these live versions too: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8FenkXbKJg]YouTube - Other Lives - For 12[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dx3eEm4vPAc&feature=related]YouTube - Other Lives - Dark Horse[/ame]
  3. So are you just streaming it at the moment Mike?
  4. Doesn't look like anything anyone can plan for on first impressions.
  5. Fair enough, that's where difference of opinion comes in, and that's fine :) I do think if you'd followed The Strokes from the start you might have a different opinon on them though. We'll never know though.
  6. It does make sense yes. And there are plenty of bands where I agree with you. The Strokes, Kings Of Leon, The White Stripes. I don't like their newer material generally. On the other hand, they did have to evolve, otherwise they would have gone stale. There are few bands I can point out who can release five albums without changing, otherwise they always seem to water down. The true iconic bands are the ones who change and stay good, minus a few blips, unless of course their approach is radically different and therefore an album or two can inspire whole genres and sub genres etc.
  7. I don't think I'll be there till evening. My Dad is mates with a couple of United fans so we are going for a drink with them after the game (Rovers are at home), then I'll be going to my mates and he'll be driving there later on. Probably have our tea before setting off. Hopefully I'll miss any trouble, and hopefully there won't be any.
  8. I forgot the final was on the same day too. Ridiculous. They complain about managers taking the magic out of the cup and then the schedulers do a thing like that. Yeah, that will make things even tastier I'd imagine. I think I'm gonna go though.
  9. Everyone else in the thread must suck :shame:
  10. Just because it's nice when you set off running, doesn't mean it will be when you finish. Set off in just a t-shirt, shorts, trainer socks and trainers, and by the end it was raining so much the roads were flooding, I had to keep wiping the water out of my eyes, I had snot in my beard (don't know how), my penis was an eighth of it's normal size and I got joggers nipple (literally nipple too, since ones an inny and ones an outty - the outty bore the brunt) with all the rubbing against my wet shirt. Hot stuff.
  11. Fair enough. But they are going to have to do something different next time around. You can only listen to an Irish accent and a banjo for so long. Their songs have already started sounding the same. Like The National, though at least they have plenty of songs.
  12. Regarding Mumford & Sons, it will be interesting to hear their second album. They'll have to release it soon if they want it to be as big as the last one (and they strike me as the type who would want a commercially praised album, which is fair enough) as their genre will not be as 'mainstream' next time around since you can only fool people that you are different simply because of a banjo for so long. Their fans who don't have a deep rooted interest in the genre already will be onto whatever the new flavour of the month is by then.
  13. Animal Collective on the other hand seem to revel in sabotaging some of their work in order to seem cool. Overproduction and too many layers pad out some of their lesser works, but people still lap it up. Now that is hipster. Good band though.
  14. MGMT are too mainstream to be considered hipster. Mumford & Sons haven't done anything new at all. They are just like a million pub bands in Ireland, they just got a little lucky. The new album will be the same, and if it isn't then people won't like it. If they do it will be a new group of people and it will be even worse. Florence & The Machine stand a chance of creating something more unique and long lasting but it's early days and they haven't done anything spectacular yet. Certainly one who might do though, for their fans anyway.
  15. I'm gonna catch up on this thread now. In the meantime, I honestly think Martin Grech would have a much bigger following if the right people heard him. Not too many have unfortunately. Here's his more recent folky stuff: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbRrZdXPX00]YouTube - Martin Grech - The Giving Hands[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfG1oHPzNbo&feature=related]YouTube - Ruins - Martin Grech - March Of The Lonely[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtYz4iwzI3w]YouTube - Martin Grech- Ashes over embers[/ame] And then his most famous song from his first album which was often used as advert music: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xja7UXSZmps]YouTube - Martin Grech - Open Heart Zoo[/ame]
  16. I saw my friends in full.
  17. Mark, do you have any irl friends?
  18. I can't believe people don't know about the diva cup.
  19. Animal Collective are a hipster band. So are Deerhunter. Doesn't mean I don't like some of what each do.
  20. She's too diva for me.
  21. If it came to the stage where it was the law then you would.
  22. I've never considered it. I didn't think I'd get away with five brags in my sig for so long, so I suppose so.
  23. It just got some company as of about three minutes ago, just before I saw this.
