OK, so after the recent Top 15 songs by The Beatles thread in which Mike and I put forward a youtube playlist of our top tracks as part of a drunken (on my part) challenge to him, which people voted on (and I won ), we decided that this could be done on a wider scale. Rather than a one on one battle we think it would be more interest to include a larger number of posters, probably around 5. It will not be the same 5 for every band as we will be trying to cover a range of bands to suit the majority of peoples interests. Mike, Briggins and I have come up with 8 bands to get the ball rolling and we would like you to vote for which band you would like to do a top 15 for out of those suggested. This thread will also be open to suggestions for other bands to be included for when these ones are completed if you feel that none of the above match your tastes, although it will be good to name something that a wide range of posters are familiar with, then the results can be as accurate as possible when it comes to peoples choices. The three people mentioned in this thread will have first dibs on if they want to participate in the playlist making (although I have only put myself forward for three of the eight and I imagine the other two will put forward a similar number too unless competition for places is dwindling), and then it will be a first come first serve basis (when the individual thread is created, not in this thread - apart from if you specifically suggested a band yourself) for who gets to contribute. You also stand a better chance of being able to participate in the thread if you voted for them in this poll to see what the interest levels are for each band. You can vote for as many people as you want, but only your first 3 votes will receive a possible preferential treatment when it comes to which bands/artists you will be able to contribute to (so that you can't just vote for everything to spread your bets, so vote wisely), and the bands/artists will be listed in alphabetical order. We do not want more than six contributors for each band ideally, as then it becomes hard to distinguish between playlists, but for the more well known bands it is possible that allowances will be made. We will decide at the time though. We shall begin with songs and will move to albums later, unless people disagree with this at any point. Judge them on one game Mark. Not reactionary at all. Player of the season is harder. Young player between Wilshire and Caroll, especially after that goal. His injury means I give it Wilshere though.

And as for every team underperforming, explain how either of the things above, plus Bolton and even Newcastle's league positions have not been higher than anticipated? Actually, Pardew would get it before Moyes and Hodgson in my book given the stick he got when he started and the fact they have been under no pressure at all recently, whilst also managing some hot heads and losing his star player. This is their first season up remember.

Well I wouldn't give it Chelsea if they finished third, regardless of their European performance. United, Bolton and possibly City IF they get third and win the FA Cup and United don't win the Champs League. If United only win the league and Blackpool stop up then give it to Holloway, but I can't see that happening. If Blackpool do go down and United only win the league then an outside chance of Coyle but you'd imagine it would go to Fergie. Aside from that I'd give it Bruce before Hodgson and Moyes (two of my favourite PL managers) and Sunderland haven't coped with Bent's departure at all. And I will count my chickens, since the very reason a top four club will win is because one didn't win the League Cup so they won't be over-cocky.

Birmingham knackering things up ad winning the League Cup. I do apologise. They should still be in a position to get 7th by a comfortable margin (and I mean a comfortable margin), pushing for 6th given Liverpool's start to the season and recent problems. They've been very disappointing and won't make 6th purely because they were abysmal at the start. Rovers beat them ffs. This was their season when you consider Villa also slipped.

Everyone needs to chill out and smoke some weed/fuck/listen to An Ending (Ascent) by Brian Eno, dependant on age. Everyone in here seems pretty fortunate in comparison to the majority of the world.

More reactionary stuff from Mark. Only interested in the here and now. Everton fans aren't impressed with this season because for the first time they actually had a few extra players at their disposal since their injury crisis wasn't as large as usual (they had some strikers to choose from). Just because a manager or team does shit in the first half of the season then pulls it back doesn't mean they deserve manager of the season. At least with Bolton they were pretty much certain for bottom half. Everton were expected to qualify for Europe.

I'm not scared of the things I control. And those I can't control aren't worth worrying about as I have no control over them.

Looking forward to seeing the new Portugese guy then. As for Blackpool, second half of the season some of the new boys get found out, particularly the defensively naive. Hull (who just survived but went down the following year) two seasons ago, Burnley last season and now the Seasiders. All went through long spells without wins. The main hope they can hold on to is that those around them fail to perform and it stays as tight as possible so they can claw back some optimism. I for one hope they go down, but that's for the sake of my own club.

Long way to go yet, but if they do stop up he should get it a million miles ahead of the owl. I don't think they will stop up though. Their heads have dropped and at this stage of the season that could be critical.
