  1. but i have such an ego that i want someone to crap chat directly to me how are you?
  2. i'm drunk and i wanna chat crap. anyone wanna chat crap?
  3. well my music taste has changed recently. i've mellowed out a lot. i used to be into a lot of guitar music like early kings of leon, white stripes, the strokes, the stooges, the smashing pumpkins but recently i've chilled out and gone for things like antony and the johnsons, department of eagles (bad name but good band) and nick drake. then i've always been into things like beck, radiohead, bjork, portishead and massive attack. a bit of leonard cohen doesn't go amiss either. i've not heard too much of the black keys, though what i have listened to has been pretty decent. where would you recommend i start? and i know little about house music. i imagine the closet i get is aphex twin and the drum and bass he does. any recommendations with that genre?
  4. radiohead are my favourite band. they can create beautiful music, they can create sexy music, they can create angsty music. but it's all good. such a huge volume of work. everybody should be exposed to it, there is something for everyone and everything for someone. ah lyric writing is fun. i still do it today. i write quite a lot but when i read it back i get quite embarrassed. i rely far to much on writing about love. i hope to develop this soon. to say i do a history and politics degree i should be writing about something with a little more depth but i only tend to write when i am sad, and the only thing that makes me sad is love and isolation. but er yeah, writing lyris is good, nothing to be ashamed of.
  5. i just write with my friend. he's really good at playing things i can't play. like i can play something basic and then he can take it to another level, and then i can guide him to other places. we work well off each other. we don't actually write anything down physically, but we play music together that we make up and riff off each other then learn it off by heart. sorry it took so long to reply, i started writing this ages ago but me and my dad are watching old comedy clips on youtube and laughing our heads off. i'll be free in twenty to talk properly
  6. i've never actually seen a viola, are they difficult to play? i said what i can play in the previous post
  7. piano/synths/backing vocals. though i'm not particularly good at any of them. i prefer helping to write music with my friend. hopefully we will get chance to record together properly this summer. the album in my sig is more of a practice between the two of us. what music do you like if not coldplay?
  8. first two albums were very decent but i don't listen to them anymore. i just came here because i figured some of their fans would be decent enough to chat to.
  9. ah do you play an instrument? for me it is music music music. playing, listening. if not then listening to ricky gervais, karl pilkington and steven merchant talking rubbish and making me laugh. a little bit of reading but not as much as i should and also football. i also usually make playlists for random people too, which is why the mixtape exchange on this site is going to be perfect for me!
  10. i support blackburn rovers and half support england national team but i don't really care how they do. i wouldn't want them to win the world cup since i hate the majority of the people in this country and they would all get drunk and be annoying. what are your hobbies?
  11. valdes himself played down reports he may start at this world cup and said he wasn't expecting to be picked because casilas was an amazing goalkeeper.
  12. i've been listening to the rolling stones recently too now the sun is out again. i like radiohead, massive atttack, cocorosie (i believe they have a big following in france), antony and the johnsons and bjork. oh and beck, daniel johston and the flaming lips. mgmt are pretty decent too, saw them supporting radiohead last summer though i wasn't a big fan back then since i'd only heard one song. there song 'pieces of what' sounds like an ode to daniel johnston. are you supporting france in the world cup?
  13. ha, i know what you mean. i've just had six months without alcohol and i felt a bit left out. but there are always people around who seem friendly enough. gigs would be a good place to meet people. like-minded people usually too. what music are you in to?
  14. i was near hyde park when i stopped there for about five days. there always seemed to be horses going through the park, which was nice to watch. have you met many people whilst you have been enlgand?
  15. he's the fifth best keeper in the country behind the two who went with england, paul robinson and chris kirkland.
  16. no, i mean you should go to a park and read a book written by albert camus. i like his work and he is french (possibly born in algeria) so i've always wondered if he is even better to read before translation. maybe 'the outsider' would be a good place to start, or if you want something a bit heavier 'the myth of sisyphus'. if it's a bit cold then perhaps reading outside isn't the best thing. do you go to many gigs? i watched sigur ros in london about a year and a half ago and it was amazing.
  17. no but eventually i'll have shown others the amazingness of bands like cocorosie, daniel johnston and pluxus sq
  18. i think i will probably just say 'oh, it's my thousandth post' and that will be it. is the sun not out where you are? it's been quite nice here and it's usually nicer where you are than it is here. you should go to the park and read a book. i recommend albert camus as you will be able to read it in the language it was intended to be read in. today i spent the day with a few friends watching the football games and now i'm with my dad watching another football game! i'm also drinking alcohol for the first time in 6 months (apart from the other day) now that my body can tolerate it again.
  19. i still haven't been in the coldplay section of this board. i feel quite guilty about this
  20. i'm good thank you and yes it is and i'd be really happy if you did download it. listen to 'messenger' first, it's the best place to start. and don't worry, you don't need to give feedback. how are you?
  21. close to 5k posts! how will you be celebrating?
  22. Robert Green has shown a sharp improvement in training. Today out of 450 shots none hit the back of the net. Rumour has it Green and Heskey will be allowed to train with the rest of the England squad tomorrow.
  23. technically you'd be an omnivore
  24. ah cool. i studied psychology briefly and enjoyed it. i do a history and politics degree at university. i mainly enjoy the history side of things but i don't know what i'm going to do with my qualification when i'm done  i think i'd just like to work in a library for a few years, or a museum. then i don't know what. it's been nice to speak to you. i should get some sleep but i'm sure we'll speak again. goodnight!
