  1. i wonder if i make it to 1,000 posts without posting in the coldplay section of the board
  2. i think once people understand the futility of life and take themselves less seriously and just try to concentrate on staying happy in themselves rather than trying to search for happiness through the validation of others, things become a lot easier. if you try and fit into what other people want you to be and worry what they will think you will always find something in yourself to change without being true to yourself. if you understand that your musical taste doesn't actually matter to people and that if you like a certain thing it really doesn't matter as it's an opinion of an artistic concept which bares nothing into the sort of person you are and doesn't make you a better or worse person then things become easier to accept and show in front of others. it doesn't matter if people don't like your music, because you do and you get what you get from it.
  3. you all need to be less possessive and share music. music affects people in such a specific and personal way no matter how intense music may be to you it shouldn't matter if others listen too because they will not be feeling exactly the same as you.
  4. is that referencing the shit music she likes or just her music?
  5. the forum would be much better if you were all me
  6. it bothers me that there is so much shit music
  7. and it's touring where all the money is made anyway
  8. his drums on tomorrow never knows are amazing also listen to tomorrow never knows and then setting sun by the chemical brothers. such a rip off.
  9. i used to worry so much. i kinda wish i still did, i seem to have lost all care. if things don't go right they don't go right.
  10. i was against downloading until my friend did his dissertation on the effect of downloading on the music industry and the results were negligible. also i use it as a quality control method. there is so much music to be missed out on because you haven't been able to buy it since you are only half sure if you want to hear it. also if i like something i buy it anyway even after downloading. also i like how some artists are really pro downloading. the likes of bowie have been saying how excited they are for the future of music since everyone has access to all this music when back in their day they bought like two or three records a year and that was it, and if they were to listen to it they didn't have ipods or anything so once they were out the house that would be it. however with the likes of spotify and youtube i can't remember the last time i downloaded, there isn't too much need. i have enough on my ipod already and anything new i want to listen to i can just do that on my laptop. when i become a rockstar () i won't mind people downloading my music. there's too much money in the business anyway.
  11. i used to feel like that too, but the more people you meet the more idiots you meet and if you keep clinging onto all of their faults you end up getting wound up too much given the trivial nature of the mistake. (not saying what you said to me was wrong to do because it's good to catch them things early so people know - but you should worry about it less and just state it. if people still don't catch on try feeling superior rather than worrying about people misunderstanding as it's their loss and you know you are right)
  12. yellow submarine is the second worst beatles song, just behind what goes on. they both have the ringo connection, and whilst i like his drumming i wish he'd just stick to that. i play i'm only sleeping most mornings on my way to uni. i really like i'm only sleeping through to she said she said (minus yellow sub), and then tomorrow never knows is genius. trivia for you is that the bassline for taxman is used in both 'the new pollution' by beck (a very very good song) and 'start!' by the jam (a very decent song).
  13. summer. easily. time off, decent weather, festivals, friends back from respective universities.
  14. ha i remember in my first visitor message to you i spelt your name wrong and you jumped on it straight away asking if i had done it on purpose :laugh3:
  15. i'm just discussing the tracklisting of that album with my friend right this second. (i presume that's what you're talking about) which are your favourite songs off it?
  16. i very rarely get called gregory. i hated it when i was younger but now i don't mind. it always makes me smile when i see it written down for some reason. it's a little bit of a ridiculous name and i always read it in a shrill voice. what's everyone been up to?
  17. the key is not to tailor your mixtape for anyone and just force music on people like a nazi. if they don't like it shout at them and question their intelligence then post on the board in full view of everyone, specifically a thread the person you gave the mixtape to posts in a lot, that they don't understand or feel music like you do.
  18. oxymoron hello people, don't fret, i'm back.
  19. yeah. wasn't a bad but everyone here is really depressed by it because as usual they hyped it up too much. i'm not a big england fan so i don't care how well they do. i'd like them to go far but i wouldn't want them to win it because i hate most of the players and the majority of the people in this country  right, i'm heading out in ten. i'll be back on later. and sorry to hear about the fish too!
  20. i'm pretty good. gonna head over to my football mates today to watch the matches, then this evening perhaps see my college mates for the first time in a few weeks and just hang out. i have different sets of friends for different situations haha. i'm such a floater.
