  1. i think it's more how revolutionary the music of the 60's was and how it evolved so greatly from previous decades. it also has much more of an influence on the rest of music that followed which only the blues seem to be able to rival from earlier eras.
  2. well thats the end of that then should have had a hattrick too
  3. i remember when i first got into them. my mum and dad played me dummy (the album) when i was like 13. it was amazing!
  4. i'm going to make my own thread tonight to show you the top 100 albums of the decade according to braddock. obviously whatever i say is fact so it will be interesting for all of you to see something definitive instead of this watered down democracy which saw muse actually get a mention :P i'm sure you are all massively excited
  5. argentina game has been relatively interesting so far and it's still wide open with 25 minutes to go. come on south korea!
  6. true, and i understand you, but i'm guessing you feel so negative towards it because you feel unattractive to the opposite sex or different from the other girls around you. hopefully over the next few years you will be able to accept yourself and find somebody who likes you for both your body and your personality because people tend to care a lot less about other people's body than they do their own. for example i have a huge dislike for my body and i'm very self conscious, but when it comes to girls i get close to i like girls with all sorts of different body shapes and sizes. it's just about meeting the right person. there's a whole package and other peoples faults seem more palatable than your own.
  7. good night people. i enjoyed chatting tonight hope you are all well
  8. you all know if there wasn't such an emphasis on their appearance there wouldn't be the same following. i've still never seen a discussion about their actual music. it's all about cuteness from what i've seen. and then a massive defensive when people mention the fact people only care about their appearance where people go 'oh but they are amazing musically'. shame people only seem to mention it when people mention the fact the fans only like the cuteness :P mew are a girls band good night
  9. ha, it always comes down to physical appearance with that band
  10. it's the same for guys too body issues wise or at least some guys the key thing is to work on being happy inside out. something like surgery is for gratification from somebody else. trying to change for another person, even if that person is none specific and simply the opposite sex this is not a good thing and as soon as you start trying to be something else you will find more and more flaws. the human body is a beautiful thing in all its forms and personality is what prevails. we all grow old and lose our attractiveness to an extent. if you are looking for something deeper than superficial simple physical then making such a massive change to your own body is a bad idea. on the other hand i had surgery so i can't talk
  11. the fact you don't like radiohead and like muse means i don't like you (only joking)
  12. from a different time with different influences before them and different resources available to them. a totally different world to fit in with too, the beatles wouldn't be as big if they were released now, they were of a time. they'd be huge, but they wouldn't be world beaters. the fact they influenced most that followed aside from that statement.
  13. yeah, that's what i should have said
  14. the beatles are amazing and i love them but they are limited to an extent (simply by the lack of technology that was available when they were around). with regards to songwriting it's hard to argue against their amazingness but in my opinion radiohead are the better band. that's not based on anything concrete though just the overwhelming emotions i get from listening to so many of their songs. the bealtes are the biggest band of all time, and will be forever given the way that nostalgia further enhances their impact and memories make them bigger. if radiohead had been around in those days (whilst impossible to properly gauge hypothetically) it would have been interesting to see what they would have created.
  15. well if you would like i will make you a playlist of music i like and bands you may not have heard of. listen to it in your own time there is no rush, and you don't need to reply to it, just listen to it at some point that is all i ask. and hopefully you will be turned o to some music that you enjoy. for some reason i only get inspiration from when i'm down. there always seems to be a bit of a dark side to the things i create though i wish that wasn't the case. i really like the flaming lips who are a really positive and fun band. you should download my album from my sig (you don't have to obviously but you might like it, you never know)/ this thread could be of help to me actually. not yet but in the future. i have always wanted to write a song in french but can't speak the language. one day if someone could do a translation for me i would be massively in their debt!
  16. i'll listen to some of that album tonight, thank you for the pointer. and i'll listen to that clip in five minutes, just listening to a track right now. but thank you again.
