[3-Aug-2011] Coldplay @ Samsung AT&T Summer Krush Concert Series, Los Angeles
I was offline most of the morning, but just checked Ticketmaster (out of curiosity - I got my tix yesterday)... Looks like all but single tix are sold out? Looks like even the VIP tix are now sold. Will be interesting to see how many more are made available tomorrow. Seems like the bulk of them are getting resold through StubHub... Hope some of you had more luck today if you were still trying to score some. Jason

Not too much info from my e-mail asking about the VIP tix... Jason

Is anyone interested in having a Coldplaying get together after the concert at a restaurant or something? I lived in LA years ago... Isn't there a Jerry's Famous Deli near UCLA?

I don't know what the retail price was on the GA-PIT tix, but they are different from the VIP ones. It looks like the GA are standing tickets right below the stage, and everything else is seated behind it. Jason

Thanks, Dianne. I obviously did not hover my mouse, but "roll the dice". :D Thanks for the info! Wow, there sure are a lot of tickets on StubHub! Jason

[3-Aug-2011] Coldplay @ Samsung AT&T Summer Krush Concert Series, Los Angeles
Well, that didn't go very smoothly... I had two PCs on two networks and got on both right at 10am (kept hitting F5). Tried to get two tix with each of the two promo codes. Nothing. All I could find was the periodic single ticket. Then I tried the VIP Experience... what the heck is the VIP Experience? Anyway, I figured if I'm going to go, and maybe there is a chance at a meet and greet or something... well, I bit the bullet. I am in Section 204, Row 1. I don't even know who I'm taking with me yet. :laugh3: I called Ticketmaster and asked what the story is with the "VIP Experience". I finally got in touch with someone with some details. He read off a list of things - VIP parking, early access, a special lounge, a "pre-show", no host bar, special souvenirs... still not real clear on this though. He did give me an e-mail address for more info, so I just sent off an e-mail and will let you know if I find anything else out. Ticketmaster does have a three day return policy on this event, so if you buy tickets today and maybe find better tickets tomorrow or Friday, you can get a full refund. I had bought one single ticket (and not a very good seat) before buying the VIP set, and they gave me a refund without any problem. Jason

Promoter Goldenvoice has their own pre-sale, so that is their code. It is lesser known, so worth trying... (I assume it is also for use on Ticketmaster) Jason

If you buy through Ticketmaster, you should be able to resell them to someone else. I would just recommend you get the eticket/PDF/download version. Here's a recap of the pre-sale codes... Wednesday 10 am Pre-Sale Codes: MAJORMINUS TEARDROP Thursday 10 am Pre-Sale Codes: FOUNDATIONS KROQWATERFALL Jason

Given the size of the venue, it looks like every ticket should provide a good seat/spot. If you miss out on the public sales, you can always try StubHub as a back-up. I would hope if you are right on the site when it goes live, you should be good at getting some kind of ticket (maybe not your first choice but something). Since this was only announced today and on sale in the morning, I don't think a lot of people are aware of it, so that is in our favor. Much thanks for the additional pre-sale code. :) Jason

Awesome! What does it say if we are more excited about tennis courts than Vegas? :laugh3: Jason

Funny, a friend just sent me an e-mail about this with a different pre-sale code for pre-sales starting Thursday... So the official Coldplay site: Goldenvoice e-mail: Since pre-sales only release a set amount of seats, this gives you an additional chance prior to the public sale of the tix on Friday. Jason

My thoughts exactly. I will 99% for sure be going to this show (I'm in Northern California, so short flight for me). Still tempted to go to the Vegas show, but this one is closer, Coldplay-only, and likely a longer set than Vegas, so looking forward to seeing if I can score some tix tomorrow. Jason

Glastonbury to be shown on US TV
If you Google "Coldplay: Live From Glastonbury, Commericial Free 2 hr Palladia Special", you'll see that is how Palladia and VH1 were originally describing it on their respective official webpages... though now it doesn't include that language. Would be awesome if it is commercial-free. I've watched the Viva Tokyo show countless times and the commercials definitely get in the way... (I wish they'd release a full blu-ray of that show). Jason

EMI stars launch charity for Japan Red Cross
Thank you! I do feel lucky! I have never played the VIVA guitar though - I plan to just preserve it in the same condition that it came to me in. I don't think that the Gibson seen in Violet Hill was sold off in the End of the Decade Sale, at least based on the photos. There were four Gibsons attributed to Chris, sold on the last day of the sale, and each are painted in a different style from the one seen in that video (and an assortment of earlier publicity material, like Q magazine #264). So I'm guessing it is still with Coldplay or at some point it was repainted? Of those four Gibsons sold, two of them went to the underbidder on the Johnny "Blacky" guitar that I had won: Lot 40 – Gibson used by Chris Martin in Viva La Vida tour - hand painted by Chris Martin himself Lot 43 – The most used and recognized style hand painted Chris Martin Gibson used in the Viva La Vida Tour I don't know who won, I had just looked at the bidding history at the time and saw that the same person who was the underbidder on mine won those two auctions as well as Lot 33 – the white teardrop-style guitar that Chris used in playing "Yellow" during the X&Y tour (then handpainted for Viva). Whoever it was, they were a brand new eBay user and bid on those four pieces only (mine was the only thing that they bid on that they didn't win). I thought maybe it was the Hard Rock Cafe or something, but who knows? When you say lucky, you really have no idea... I won the auction for my guitar by a margin of only 14 pounds... Jason

Oz was the winner ("lo&loud" here on Coldplaying). You can read about some of our "Hidden Gig" (mis)adventures on my blog (LINK) along with Carrie (posted as "NumbersGirl" just above). :D Jason

Congrats, Oz. Still laughing about the bid... one second snipe. Yikes! Mr. Roadie 42, knowing the winner very well, I have to concur with the sentiments of my friends above - he is stubborn and determined, and tremendous fan of all things Coldplay, especially iconic artifacts such as the jacket. In any event, a big "hello" from another fan here... :) Jason

[20-Dec-2010] Crisis: Coldplay in Newcastle (JOURNAL TYNE THEATRE, WESTGATE RD)
Awesome review, Carrie. It was especially cool for me to read as you filled in some bits for me that I didn't know. :) I had such a blast and really enjoyed sharing the experience with you and Oz, and the assortment of fellow Coldplayers we encountered along the way. Jason

Awesome review, Carrie! I enjoyed reliving it through your story. :D I totally forgot about the "magic" being canceled until I just read it now. :laugh3: That cracks me up. I'll be using that with people all year now... ("I"m sorry sir, all magic has been canceled!") Can't wait to read the next one! Jason

Wisna, I've got Politik from Newcastle here: [ame= ] [/ame] I've also got a bit of it (under 2 mins) from the Liverpool show in higher res, but would need to scale it down, etc. :) Jason

Hey Everyone, I've been publishing a daily journal about my (first!) trip to England to see these shows... with so much traveling, obviously they are lagging a bit - just got up on the one on the Newcastle show ("Day Five"). I also put one up about "Blacky" today for context... All can be found via this link - obviously Day Four (Liverpool) and Day Five (Newcastle) would be of the most interest to members of the forum... Nice to finally meet some fellow Coldplayers! Jason
