Hey Everyone, I've been publishing a daily journal about my (first!) trip to England to see these shows... with so much traveling, obviously they are lagging a bit - just got up on the one on the Newcastle show ("Day Five"). I also put one up about "Blacky" today for context... All can be found via this link - obviously Day Four (Liverpool) and Day Five (Newcastle) would be of the most interest to members of the forum... We just ran into Chris Martin while we were waiting for a taxi ride at the train station... (!) For those coming to meet at the Coldplaying get together tonight, the receptionist at our hotel said that Korova is shut down - so we will meet at a place nearby called Yates. If anyone is interested, some of us are planning a Coldplayer get together in Liverpool the night before the first concert (Saturday, 12/18). I spent the day with Oz in London yesterday (coming from California early in the morning, I hadn't slept for like two days!), and we will be meeting up with Amanda and Carrie, so thought it might be fun to open it up to more Coldplay fans. We were thinking about 6:30 or 7:00... Is anyone here familiar with Korova at 39-41 Fleet Street (korova-liverpool.com‎)? You can e-mail me at [email protected]... Jason

Oz, you are awesome! I'm so thrilled - extremely fortunate and humbled to be able to attend these special shows with so many great people. Looking forward to meeting Oz, Carrie, Amanda, and as many of you as I can. I've never been to the UK before, so this will be an amazing trip. So excited! Jason

I love both; I don't think I could pick one over the other. For me, musically, each have different "moments", but have a different pace and changes. Clocks is a little more mellow for me, after the intro, while SOS has more of an anthem quality (like you want to play it loud). I also think SOS showcases the full band's sound more while with Clocks Chris and the piano really feel much more prominent to me. I love the intro to Clocks though - for me, it just screams Coldplay... Jason

Congrats!!! That is soooo awesome. Life in Technicolor II is one of my all-time favorite songs. Great display too. :o Jason

Congrats, Amanda - that is awesome - great photos! I love that the songs are written on it - very cool (GPASUYF is one of my all-time favs!). So glad it all worked out and you finally have it safe and secure. Jason

Welcome, Douglas! I'm really glad another "new parent" made his way over to CPing. :) That is such an awesome guitar - congrats! I absolutely love that song, so it's really special that there is a specific guitar that is designed/tuned just for one song. And it looks cool too! Maybe its name is "Forty-Two-Y"? :laugh3: Jason

Hey Angie, I'll post a pic of the COA later tonight, and some better photos - I just had wall to wall busy from morning till night last night, and shot some quick photos as I opened up the massive bubblewrap package... :laugh3: Thanks so much to all for the comments! I'll also take a pic of the nameplate on the back - it's so cool and endearing! ;) Jason

I plan to have a display case made - I just wanted to get it in hand first to be fully inspired... I don't play, and since it is an important artifact, I would rather just work to preserve it in its current state. I also still plan to make a website about "Blacky", and also include photos and anecdotes from other auction winners, should they be interested. The flight case is really awesome. One of the latches is totally busted (it was taped shut), but this thing has had quite a journey! Jason
