  1. Please don't leave. You're the only person here who makes any sense :(
  2. You're probably right, but maybe the audience just isn't mic'd up.
  3. looks great!
  4. Technically they only said that the new album's artwork was not on the new website. I think they just meant that the album cover isn't on the timeline.
  5. Wow I'm excited. I feel like it's the lead up to "LP5" all over again. I see the resemblance to the MX era in terms of clothing, but I feel like that jacket seems more toned down. The patches are reminiscent of both Viva and MX, which makes sense if this is supposed to be the end of an era. This style seems to fit in with their more recent albums' styles. And I like the upper patch. The purple and orange is cool. Seems like Chris' shirt is also orange with purple lettering (I think). I like that color scheme. Makes this album seem less flashy than MX.
  6. Makes sense for this one to be a surprise release. If it's coming out this year and if they're going to have new material for the September gigs, then they'd usually start building hype pretty soon.
  7. It's possible that they're past their prime (too soon to say) but from the looks of the last two albums Chris can still pump out hit singles if he wants to. Coldplay ain't going anywhere anytime soon if they don't want to.
  8. Why? Not sure what's poppy about Magic though. Seems to laid back to be poppy. ETIAW/Paradise/ASFOS are the poppy ones to me. ETIAW is alright, Paradise is good, and I really like ASFOS.
  9. You all have stated in the past that you weren't completely satisfied with X&Y in retrospect. Is there anything about any of your other albums that you guys have your gripes with?
  10. Yeah. Isn't he, like, a huge asshole? I suppose he's a huge asshole with a lot of teenage fangirls though...
  11. I think it was over-hyped for one thing. People expected it to be even better than Arobtth (which is a difficult thing to be) especially after the delay of its release dropped EMI's stock. Lots of hype there. It's also probably a couple songs too long. Get rid of The Hardest Part and Twisted Logic and it'd be a far more concise album. Disagree about A Message and What If though. The former is great and the latter is good.
  12. It's one of the better ones as far as I'm concerned. Although I understand that you have to be in a particular mood to get into it.
  13. The first youtube link in one of the first posts leads to a video that got taken down. I believe it's the interview where AHFoD is referred to as the day to GS' night. Any way of getting that corrected?
  14. That's actually a great point. I think people here (or me at least) have been worried that AHFoD will be MX part 2, but that's unlike Coldplay.
  15. I believe Anchorman only said that the AHFOD album cover wasn't present in the new website since somebody asked if the symbol they use to represent the pre-Parachutes era was the new artwork for AHFOD. And I agree that there will eventually be a big reveal of an even further updated site, but I'm just making the argument that it might maintain the artistic style present in the website currently.
  16. How do you know? Obviously they changed updated the site primarily to bring back the timeline, but there's a consistent artistic theme to the site that may have come from somewhere. If the album is as closed to being finished as we hope it is it seems likely that the artistic themes present on the website currently reflect the artistic themes of the album as well.
  17. Obviously it'll be a happier, probably more upbeat album. But if we look at the style of the website right now and assume that it's representative of the art that'll go along with AHFOD (which isn't necessarily true), then this doesn't look like it'll be a pop album. The look of the website during the MX era telegraphed how poppy MX would be with all its neon and spray paint. The website now is much more understated.
  18. It's definitely Coldplay's.
  19. How reliable is The Sun though? I mean their mention of Stargate makes it seem like their source for that was probably Coldplaying. This doesn't look like the most reliable story.
  20. You guys are all blowing this out of proportion. We don't even know that it's Stargate, they might just be working on one or two songs, and they helped make Miracles (which isn't MX-esque at all and is quite liked by a lot of us). Calm down.
  21. Anyone know what Fearne's reaction to the song was?
  22. This is extremely impressive and cool.
  23. If they're all Game of Thrones references then "Still Going Strong" could be about House Tyrell since their saying is "Growing Strong" and "Closer to Home" could be about any of the Starks basically. Really looking forward to the single "Hodor" with its catchy chorus of "Hodor, hodor hodor, HOOOOOdor." Brilliant.
  24. Agreed. At first I was like "wow why didn't they use this?!" But then I realized that about halfway through it stopped being interesting because it was just repeating what had happened in the first half of the video.
  25. JackZ replied to HowCouldIForget's topic in Coldplay
They actually seem to be happier than ever as a band. Guy specifically said today that they don't think they'll ever break up. I'm pretty sure Chris saying that Jonny was mad at him was just a joke.
