Female vocal? ** UPDATED - It's Rihanna **
It's official folks. 'It's also been revealed this morning that another track from the album, Princess of China, features vocals by Rihanna (ooh!).' (On this post on the official website) Well, let's remain positive. She could really outshine herself here, she has potential to make the song even better than it already is. Let's see how it go- I'M KIDDING, IT'S GONNA BE AWFUL.

If this goes on the setlist...
If it replaces Shiver I'll be a little disappointed. I will thank the gods if it replaces In My Place. But I doubt it'll replace it. They might play it for a couple of shows, but I don't think it'll be a permanent addition to the setlist. For the festivals, at least.

What do you think of the new song 'Paradise'?
I really hope you're trolling. Paradise is pretty good, but 6 out of the 8 songs on TKOL are far better than this. The only two that aren't are Give Up the Ghost and Separator, and even they come pretty damned close.

Female vocal? ** UPDATED - It's Rihanna **
I think it'd be better if they chose a lesser known band/singer. I remember The Pierces were going to make an appearance before the old album was scrapped, which I think would have been a much better decision. Hopefully this is only a rumour. Or, if it isn't, let's hope she's declined.

The Way that Chris walked through, while becoming COLDPLAY
He's had different pianos over the years. Congratulations on noticing.

Bands that you can't stand, but respect?
I've never really been into Muse, but I respect the fact that they're all very talented and work incredibly hard at what they do. Perhaps I've listened to the wrong albums or something (The Resistance is a decent album, but not once have I ever been able to sit through Black Holes & Revelations)...

White Lies
Guys, the World of Music section is here for a reason. To talk about bands that aren't Coldplay. Perhaps move over to the White Lies' page on WoM and continue this conversation.

I'm in your codes, finding you unfinished projects.
Also, can I ask how on earth you managed to find this?

New Lyrics?
^At least change the title. And it looks like I get to keep my copy of X&Y. Pity, it was looking awfully delicious. But, uh, yeah, basically what everyone else has said. I find it incredibly rude to say that these lyrics are Coldplay's, and then once you get enough people's attention (many of whom didn't even particularly like the lyrics) say that they're actually your lyrics. And, to top it all off, then become horribly offended that someone might not actually like what you've written. At least have the decency to post this in WoM/Lounge, and get some impartial opinions. Because (like some have said here), the only reason most of us are being critical of the song is because you said it was written by Chris and Coldplay. I wouldn't have minded the song nearly as much if you'd just said 'Hey guys, I'm looking for some feedback here, so here's a song I've written, and I could really use some feedback'. Or words to that extent.

Charlie Brown time signature
Just had a listen to the Rock IM Ring version on YouTube. Sounds awfully like one bar of 4/4, then one bar of 2/4, then two bars of 4/4 again. Awfully similar to Everything in its Right Place (by Radiohead) :)

New Lyrics?
I'm sorry, but these are not lyrics written by Chris Martin. They sound like some sort of terrible high school poetry. I will eat my copy of X&Y if this turns out to be legit*. *Not an actual promise.

I used to adore them, and I have a huge collection of them on my computer (somewhere). But as a result, I've usually heard them before :/

I'd volunteer to edit the script, but I might be a little bit biased... ;)- Why are Radiohead so popular?
Last.fm is populated by people who aren't into mainstream music. Radiohead is not mainstream music. Also, I think it's because it's a little too 'trippy' for mainstream audiences. I mean, seriously, I don't know many people who would willingly listen to Bloom or Myxomatosis.- LP6: You heard it first
Two words - experimental reggae.- The Many Mystery Messages Of Mylo Xyloto
This seems like the most suitable place to put my findings. Well, as you all probably know by now, MX is being released on October 24. 24, of course, is the reverse of 42. Also, a quick countdown will reveal that the single Paradise will be released 42 days before MX. This is either a rather circumstantial coincidence, or the band have done a bit of thought.- The 10th Mixtape Exchange (Tapes due Mon., Aug. 8 @ 5 pm CST (GMT -6))
Well, here's my mixtape review (finally)! First of all, the album artwork - it's lovely :D Thanks! :) 1. Excellent song to start the mixtape; very upbeat, kinda indie folk/rock...and the singer has a nice voice as well :D I like this! 2. Hmm, can’t say I’m a huge fan of this one. The singer isn’t exactly what I would call overwhelmingly good. But the horn section is nice; redeems the song slightly :) It improves a bit at the end, but I certainly prefer Track 1 to this. 3. Can’t help but tap my feet to this one – the driving piano line behind it is cool. The techno sections of the song seem a bit out of place for me; I have to say I’m a little indifferent. Also a little bit too long for my liking. 4. The female vocalist sounds a little bit like Feist – it’s not, I know, but the voice is quite similar. And I don’t mind this one; the guitar part is catchy, if a little repetitive. 5. The guitar chords are amazing in this; beautiful jazz chords, which are very much underused and overlooked in a majority of modern music. I thought this one was wonderful – the guitar parts and vocals complement each other beautifully. The lyrics are good as well, though I can’t help noticing a lot of mentions to Jesus Christ ;D Oh, and I have to mention the last minute and a half of the song – it’s excellent. It goes brilliantly from very raw, mildly screamy vocals back to silence. And then, once you think it’s over, BAM another minute of music. I did really like this one though! Sounds a little bit like Beach House, perhaps...? 6. I know I mention the guitar parts a lot, but they’re certainly prominent in the songs so far. And these guitars are sublime – I have a particular liking for the acoustic guitar, and the electric guitar is a good balance with it. I’m interested to hear who wrote this one. 7. The acoustic guitar came in and suddenly grabbed my interest. The moment the singer started singing, I knew exactly what this was. The Decemberists; Colin Meloy’s voice is unmistakeable. I haven’t heard this song before, but I’m guessing due to the lyrics it’s from their album ‘The Hazards of Love’. I’m going to guess that’s the name of the song as well. I loved this one – The Decemberists are always a pleasant surprise. 8. Hmm, can’t say I was hugely fond of this one. The singer’s falsetto was a little bit too distracting for my liking. It got a little better with the harmonies, but I don’t think this will go down as my favourite song on the mixtape. 9. This one was a bit better. The baritone vocals are quite soothing, and they work well with the guitars and drums. I’m again indifferent with this one; it’s nice, but nothing spectacular. 10. The piano part in this one is nice. And the guitars that come in 20 seconds or so through the song also work well. And the vocalist is reasonable. I can’t say I’m hugely overwhelmed by this one, but it’s a good listen nonetheless. 11. I liked the synth-like vocals at the beginning of this one. And the lead singer is good too. I much preferred this to some of the other tracks; I’m inquisitive as to whom the artist is... 12. Hmm, this one was alright, I suppose. The synth parts of the song were a little out of place, I thought, and for me the vocalist didn’t really match with the other instruments. When the male vocalist comes in, it does improve somewhat; the style of this song seems quite similar to Track 4. Hehe, the male vocalist also sounds a little bit like Gary Lightbody (of Snow Patrol) ;D 13. This one’s a really nice acoustic/pop number – a great way to end the mixtape. The vocalist is good, and the guitar part sets it off nicely. Can I say that I've really enjoyed listening to this over the past few days, and I'm definitely looking forward to finding out the artist names of some of these songs :D Thank you mystery mixtape maker, and sorry it took me so damned long to do a review :)- The 10th Mixtape Exchange (Tapes due Mon., Aug. 8 @ 5 pm CST (GMT -6))
