The 10th Mixtape Exchange (Tapes due Mon., Aug. 8 @ 5 pm CST (GMT -6))
Sent mine a couple of days ago. Sent it before I found any new bands that I wanted to add...seriously, I've found a few in the last week or so that I've added in there :P And to whoever is making my mixtape - go wild! I'm looking forward to it! :D (And my Last.fm is in the signature below)

Haha, mine's certainly better than my last one...it was alright, but it didn't have much flow to it. And don't worry dear Rudy, I'm sure yours is fine

Just giving mine the final listen now. Then I'll do the organising/removal of information/uploads in the next couple of days :) I must say, I'm quite proud of this one.

[31-July-2011] Coldplay @ Splendour In The Grass festival, Australia
Hmm, it would appear that Triple J aren't broadcasting Coldplay's concert. Sorry everyone.

[31-July-2011] Coldplay @ Splendour In The Grass festival, Australia
Oh, and Triple J also have internet radio, so I daresay anyone not from Australia should still be able to listen to the show (hopefully) :wacky:

[31-July-2011] Coldplay @ Splendour In The Grass festival, Australia
Hey, not sure if you guys are aware, but Triple J (alternative rock station we have over here in Aust.) will be broadcasting Splendour acts this weekend as the festival develops. I'm not sure when they'll be broadcasting the guys, since I don't know when they're on, but I'm guessing it's pretty much guaranteed that Coldplay will be broadcast, since they're probably the biggest act at the festival. So, might someone not going to the festival (and will be home whichever night Coldplay are performing) be able to record the gig? It'd be a nice treat for whoever goes to the shows (ie not me) :)

EMERGENCY!!!
I think when Roadie #42 said 'Sydney' he meant they might be making a brief stop in Sydney before going to Brisbane, or leaving from Brisbane. Usually international flights go out of Sydney rather than Brisbane, and so if they're going to LA next, it's likely to be a brief stop (probably a couple of hours, maybe half a day). And they'll probably be staying in the airport from which they're flying rather than going into the city itself.

Chris should make a solo album?
Chris has said himself that it would never happen. I agree with him. He needs the rest of the band to make what he writes great.

Portishead's Geoff Barrow: 'Coldplay's fireworks ruin festivals'
I understand where he's coming from, but he's being a bit...elitist, I suppose, by saying that 'we were booked on the same bill as these bands, we're better than this.' Truth is, most people haven't heard of Portishead. A vast majority of the first world population would know who Bruno Mars or Coldplay are. I can't help but think, 'he should just be thankful for being on the damned festival bill'. But I can see where he's coming from with the fireworks thing; it could be distracting. But that's the nature of a festival.

The Snow Patrol Thread
Hmm, can't say I'm sold on it yet. Not a huge fan of Gary's vocals in this one. But I agree, I'm glad they haven't attempted their own ETIAW.

Never never never trust a... little android man
Aww man, that really sucks. I hope things get better for you soon :)

piano songs
I really like Regina Spektor, Jack's Mannequin, Something Corporate, Keane, Thirteen Senses, and I don't mind The Fray either. I also love the works of Chopin.

LP5 announcement in August?
I think it's probably called Zyrgyflyrbl. Or oifuhrewoifwh.

Math
Maths is awesome. Some people hate it, but I really like it; it has so many cool theories and stuff (LIKE FRACTALS ) that really appeal to me :) And come on. Who doesn't like pi?

ETIAW Video out now!!
The video redeems the song so much. I like it; it's kind of a mix between Strawberry Swing (with the whole stop motion thing) and LIJ. I like it.

Rate 'Moving To Mars' now!
This. This a thousand times. My biggest regret of the past month that I gave it 10 :/

Rate 'Moving To Mars' now!
I'm so disappointed with this. I've only just had my first couple of listens now, and all I can say is that if this is what LP5 is going to be like, I'm not going to be listening to the album for long. I can't quite put my finger on it - it's so different to Major Minus, and I really do like Major Minus. But MTM... Chris' vocals aren't that brilliant, when the rest of the band comes in it's really low-fi (and not good), and then it becomes so underwhelming it's not funny. And it sucks. If all of LP5 is like this, I am probably going to cry. Or at least be very depressed for a time. Because I have been waiting for this album for years. And if the songs are like this... D:

Clocks Single cover art question!! (important!)
Then again Reece, I remember you once telling me that the Clocks cover was an explosion.

The Polyphonic Spree
Bump. Because this band deserves a lot more interest. [ame= ] [/ame]

is the song Don Quixote going to be in the next album?
Oracle was pretty definite. I believe the words 'not a chance' appeared in the answer.

Oren Lavie
Really surprised this guy doesn't have a thread. He's from Israel, and currently has one album (working on a second one currently, I believe), and also had a song featured on the Narnia: Prince Caspian soundtrack. He has some truly brilliant acoustic/indie folk songs that I think some of you might like :) Some of my personal favourites: [ame= ] [/ame] [ame= ] [/ame] [ame= ] [/ame] Brilliant stuff :)
