Last year my friends (the ones who do like Coldplay) and I were at a Starbucks (as usual :P ) and we were celebrating a birthday. The birthday girl opened her present ( a copy of "X&Y Latin American Tour Edition") and just when she was thanking us for it one of the girls who worked at Starbucks approached us and started "Um, excuse me girls" We thought she was going to politely ask us to leave cause the place was full and we had already finished our orders but she surprisingly asked "Is that a Coldplay CD?" she said she was a huge fan and couldn't help but noticing the CD and we started talking about Coldplay and their music, if we had seen them live and how we were all friends who liked them and she was really happy to have found people who loved Coldplay as well. She had to go back to work. Sadly, we couldn't find her when we left and we never saw her again, but it was quite a nice surprise.

I agree, Rock in Rio is too ahead in time, if they're working on new material, it would make sense for them to wrap up the MX era in the first half of the year, but apparently there are no plans, at least not yet. I just wish they said something regarding this.

According to a Facebook page which usually has reliable information about upcoming gigs and negotiations for future gigs in Argentina and South America months in advance, there are no rumors or talks about new Coldplay dates (or even negotiations) for the time being. The guy who runs the page said people from Rock in Rio might try to get them for RIR 2013 but that also is not something certain. :sad: I'm losing hope they come...

I don't know how true what the journalist said is. He later said Coldplay "owed" a decent explanation to the producers (the local ones) So I don't know if he knows what he's talking about. Exactly! Most fans I know feel disappointed because this was something they had waited and dreamed of for a long time, it was finally there, everybody was happy and making lots of plans and then it was snatched away three days later, which is something very weird for Coldplay to do. They have cancelled and postponed concerts before, always with a good explanation but not an entire leg with little details as to why. Believe me, I know they don't own us an explanation (who am I to ask that of them, really? ) but people can't be blamed for feeling confused about what happened and needing to understand it either. That said, again, I don't think bombarding them with messages demanding one is a wise move. Well, peronally, I'm glad this did not happen further in the process when everybody would had already bought their tickets, had already asked for days off from work and had already bought their train/bus or plane tickets. Then, I would have felt ripped off.

Last thing I heard was a Brazilian journalist saying something about Coldplay finding out how Lady Gaga and Madonna's concerts had not sold out and deciding to back out because of this for fear of playing in front of an empty stadium or something along those lines. I don't know how true this is or how reliable that journalist and his sources are. However, imagine for a moment this was the reason they decided to postpone, they wouldn't say it, even if -for them-it is good enough.

I also feel very sad and disappointed and I even admit of being guilty of sending them the occasional tweet telling them how much we still love them and we wait for them here, but massively demanding explanations will only make us come across as annoying and rude. As much as I'd like to have one, to at least try to make sense of what happened, I doubt they will give us one since they haven't done it til now and the Oracle hasn't said anything at all regarding the whole postponement business ( and it would be a safe bet to say she got hundreds of questions about that :P) and by being impolite we won't change that. I guess the only thing we can do is keep waiting and hoping they solve whatever it was that caused this.

I think he might have just refering to Australia cause he tends to say that thing of "We're not be touring here for three years" in lots of paces. The article might have just omitted the "here" part. Anyways, they do deserve a break, but it would be lovely they re schedule the La tour first, if not we'd have to wait for another 5 or 6 years for them to come back and I don't even want to think about it :(

^^ It is. I'm very disappointed in them at the moment I can't even listen to their songs. It's sad but true. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate them or anything and I still love their music and I know in a few weeks hopefully it'll be back to normal, but their music doesn't offer much comfort atm. I know they may have good reasons to "postpone" - hoping postpone is really the term and not cancel- the tour but why would you announce tourdates and take them back three days later with no hint of an explanation? That's just not fair, if there were problems with whatever it is there are problems with, it would have been better not to announce anything. I'm sorry I'm ranting, but I had been waiting for this for a long time.

I already know that! I don't live under a rock! That's precisely why I don't want to watch it again, all the thoughts and feelings I had when watching it for the first time ended up being a lie but I still have a nice memory of it. (and the fact that it came out on the date they had announced the tour made it extra spercial)Watching it now will only make me feel bad. Does it make any sense?

I feel a bit hesitant about watching again Live 2012 because when I saw it last week at the cinema I kept thinking "I'm gonna see this in 3 months time, finally, for real" and it felt so wonderful and I'm afraid if I see it now I'll just be sad and ruin the experience and the good memories.

What you put in the spoiler wouldn't count as "unforeseen circumstances" I guess.

People have different tastes/opinions. I appreciate the fact Coldplay are trying to create something different or new. It's always comforting to see your favourite band in a creative mood. The story seems cohesive and the plot seems strong, they match with the songs and all, but I can't just find the connection to it. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. I like MX the album, but comic books is something I never really liked. The HLH video is intrinsically related to the comic, therefore, I don't really like it. It doesn't mean it's bad. As with any other video, some people will like it, some people won't. Take the Paradise video for example, I love it cause I find it cute and funny, some other people hate it cause they find it childish or whatever, it's just a matter of taste, that's all.

I never cared about comics all that much, so I'm not thrilled about the comic book, but I was hoping something better for the video. If that one is the actual HLH video then I'm really disappointed. I mean, the animation is well done and all but I don't know, maybe it's not my cup of tea, maybe I'm too old for this :shrug: . I still love the song, though.

:( If that's the case, then I wish they would just say there won't be any Latin American tour this time, they and their people are clearly aware of the rumors. I'm still hopeful though, cause that guy from Brazil who met them claimed Chris told him they would be coming in March, so my hopes are still up.
