  3. The school's better now, we're out of special measure and that teacher left, my friend is contacting some kind of board about the whole homophobia in the school so hopefully she gets something done about it.

I didn't go to my year 11 prom because I disliked so many people and I really didn't feel like trying to look pretty instead I sat listening to music and crying so a typical friday night really. I'm going to my sixth form one this year because there are some people I will miss and I am kinda forcing myself to socialise but if people try and make me dance I don't know what I'll do I can't even do the macarena right.
  5. I can relate to pretty much all this, I was bright in primary school then I became disinterested and my grades dropped. Plus the fact that our school went into special measures in my second year, we barely had any consistent teachers we had supply after supply in English and maths and I think in one exam I literally got 1 mark in the whole thing. We had so much fun just messing about and some kids would deliberately wind the supply teachers up then get their parents to complain and they kept getting fired and replaced whilst the lazy teachers were always kept safe because the kids loved not being set any work at all and being shown Bruce Almighty for the hundredth time. There was one RS teacher who would send people out of class for arguing about evolution and how they didn't agree with him about religion, basically any kind of debate or answer which contradicted him he wouldn't tolerate. He would rant about how the chavs were all scum and I genuinely can't work out why some of them were teachers in the first place. The amount of kids who shout abuse at the gay minorites is horrendous and the fact that the teachers just tell them to not stand out and that what should they expect if they are different is even worse. More should be taught about respect for others and definitely more debates and students feeling like they can question things.
  6. Yes this should definitely be improved The link was not what I was expecting though...
  7. I think private schools should be gotten rid of because I really don't see how it's fair that someone should receive a better education based on how much their family earns. In the UK we have GCSE's which are mostly pretty easy so long as you are good at memorising facts then boom you hit A-Levels and all the exams are really hard because you need to understand things really well and the exam boards ask some stuff which half the time you have no clue what they are asking so you give a vague answer and they want something really specific which is really obscure and ugghhh they annoy me. Basically the way we are taught it's such a huge jump up from previous exams that most kids drop out and it's really stressful and I feel like more should be done earlier so people are better at coping with A-Levels. Another thing that annoys me is how politicians claim they are 'too easy' when they were given some exams they mostly failed and that despite what all the specialists have said against it they still want to make them harder.

I just have my stacks of cd's and my Ziggy Stardust vinyl sitting on top, a few album covers stuck on my wall and a Hail to the Thief poster.
  9. meh ok I guess I have exams in just over a week and my friends are starting to piss me off, so if I fail and have to stay here another year and that will really suck. How are you Nick/Gregg?
  10. she has a life now she's one of them :(
  11. Do you like Wensleydale cheese? If the human race evolved into another species what would you call it? If a baby dinosaur was raised by humans could it become domesticated or would it just eat them when it gets older? How do you feel about politicians who never directly answer a question?
  12. Something drastically needs to be done about it, but my dad (a dairy farmer) agrees that culling all the badgers is pretty drastic and tb will carry on to spread with cows and humans to some extent between farms. The government doesn't want to spend money on vaccinating them and paying people to do so because farmers definitely don't have time for that. Maybe if tb was spreading around here my dad may feel different but I can certainly sympathise with the farmers losing their cows, it's heartbreaking.
  13. I think I'd rather do one not live on skype just answer the questions and film it myself because I get really awkward when I know people can hear my voice.
  14. you can't trust this guy's interview.... because this is a clear LIE.
  15. In love with Daughter's new album, also For Now I Am Winter, and the Broadchurch soundtrack by Olafur Arnalds.
  16. Coldplaying's album of the year obvs.
  17. I like it also, but I'd feel a bit weird having a public video of myself for non-cpers to see... idk how you would make stuff private or whatevs, it might be just me.
  18. and now I can see it coming .... but if it's as good as that story I read of yours it will be great.
  19. The Artist 8.5/10 really enjoyed this film  Amour - 7.5/10 it was kinda slow and I cried my eyes out and I don't think I could brong myself to watch it again, still it was beautifully made. Last Night - 5/10
  20. ok i am really happy right now
  21. I suck a dealing with it, I just take 10 minutes out with some music that chills me out and a cup of tea when I'm revising and it usually helps unless I then procrastinate/fall asleep and get even more stressed out.
  22. I agree working hard is important, but the issue is after all the hard work. The fact that there is such a small percentage of women in high positions in pretty much every industry there is, it's not because they don't work as hard as men or they are defeatist and constantly moaning it's the way society views women as a whole and gender roles especially ideas about having a family and the woman automatically staying home. I am working hard at the moment to try get into university to study Biology and I am very aware that a lot of the leading scientists in the world are male, I'm not moaning it just doesn't add up seen as around 50% of biolody students are female then why aren't 50% of those higher up also female?
