I'm glad I'm not a girl
Of course we are lucky compared to other parts of the world nobody is denying that we are just discussing issues we have within our society and things we can relate to.I am so grateful that I am able to get an education and go to University and I have so much respect for those campaigning for the right of girls to get an education and risking their lives.Just because we have it better than others it doesn't make it equal and that doesn't mean we just stop. I see a lot of arguments like this on the internet where one side downplays the other's problems and tries to make a point out of only a few instances and it kind of reminds me of the reverse racism argument. basically I agree with Gregg.

- I'm glad I'm not a girl
My gran and my mum to some extent believe in gender roles, it's always me asked to do the dishes or do the cooking but my brother doesn't agree with this bullshit and we take turns (unless I bribe him with cookies).- What are your favorite movie soundtracks?

I'll occasionally drink but I don't feel like I need it to enjoy being with friends, I've never really been drunk just to the point of being tipsy and I kinda like that feeling. I really don't know how I would be drunk though I sort of know what a hangover would feel like seen as I've had quite severe migraines as a child and I've found that coffee triggers them so I avoid that, plus I know that I would probably puke everywhere if I drank too much. :awesome:- I'm glad I'm not a girl
Recently I heard a girl saying "why does he bother, I am way out of his league" it does irritate me and also reminds me how glad I am that I don't stick around with them anymore. It irritates me more that they contradict that they've said looks aren't important before.- I'm glad I'm not a girl
I've had that problem before like boys talking about the "perfect body" and they'd go on to use me as an example of somebody who they thought was too thin and my friend got accused of being anorexic, then other times they joke saying "you're so fat" but fuck it eats away at you and sometimes I'd actually start to question whether this is true and be weighing myself several times a day. I was never anorexic or dangerously thin, but it scares me to think how easy it is to spiral into becoming obsessed with your weight. It scares me the kinds of images on the internet people aspire to be like and it crushes me to see such beautiful looking girls thinking they are ugly when often I'd envy how pretty they were.- Broadchurch
me and my mum think there's something odd about Ellie's husband and how their son acts around them, so yeah he knows something and the boy is scared idk.- Gwyneth Paltrow and her crackpot diet may be laughable – but it's pure genius
The only problem I have is that these kinds of books although say "researched" usually aren't actual scientific fact or really very reliable and people think it must be true because it's in a book about food.- Bookmarks
typical stuff like tumblr, facebook, email etc. then lots of film links, stuff i want to buy then forget about, biology courses, ucas shizzle and a ton of pages about from revising psychology- I'm glad I'm not a girl
that sounds painful.- DRUGS!!
I would definitely consider doing weed, but as everyone says around others and small amount to start. What I think would be so cool is being out in the country like where I live on a starry night and with music only problem would be getting drugz...- The first/most recent song/album you bought/downloaded
I didn't buy singles on their own... First CD I got was S Club 7's debut I also had a B*Witched cassette tape latest album I bought would be The Next Day by David Bowie. latest album I downloaded was 20/20 Experience by Justin Timberlake.- I'm glad I'm not a girl
The big question here basically is whether wearing little clothing is their decision or whether this is all a marketing ploy to sell records? I don't know how I feel about this, to me Nicki Minaj is portraying a character who she calls "Harajuku Barbie" and along with this barbie character she dresses like a barbie would, people assume this is the real Nicki and judge her for this. Whether this character is purely to sell records is debatable. People view Beyonce as a strong and independent woman though she also tends to wear less clothing, probably because of the message portrayed in her song lyrics and unlike Nicki she is consistent in interviews. On the other hand there are people who criticise singers like Taylor Swift who portray this image of being girly and "pure" and singing about love and heartbreak. The issues seem to stem from stereotyping women, those who wear less clothing + more makeup are generally considered to be less respectable, those who cover up more + wear less makeup are generally considered to be more respectable. I believe women need to judged more on their achievements, personal qualities etc. but this is more difficult to do because there are fewer women in highly ranked positions, the main women role models we do see are through the media and through this outlet these things are rarely put across, beauty is seen as the most important thing.- I'm glad I'm not a girl
I love you too  and girl you are beautiful, I don't believe you need makeup but at the same time I can completely understand you, you are at an age where peer pressure is so much greater than it is for me right now. I was the first girl to wear trousers in our tiny primary school class and I got made fun of so much to the point that I just gave in and went back to wearing dresses and skirts. I think makeup is fine to wear, it depends on the person, some people feel that it makes them more confident and for some it's their way of expressing themselves. That thing you said about girls trying to make you more girly annoys me so much, it reminds me of this episode of hannah montanna where she tells her best friend she is gross and manly and needs to look like her to get a boyfriend because she is embarrassing her.- Explosions rock Boston

other rumours it's north korea I just hope this doesn't spark yet another muslim hate campaign- I'm glad I'm not a girl
I stopped wearing makeup as well, I started around year 9 to try and fit in and eventually gave up because I hated it, I'd constantly be worrying if it had smudged and I still considered myself ugly with it anyway so I thought why bother plus acne. My boss at work one time kept asking me why I don't wear makeup and saying all this stuff about giving me a makeover and acting like she is this perfect life coach and how else will I get a boyfriend, honestly it made me feel so small and I just wanted to cry. I choose not to wear makeup because I feel less self conscious without it, I know I'm no Scarlett Johanssen with flawless skin but I wouldn't want to be around people who choose to judge me on my looks anyway.- Nicki Minaj ♥
I think she's a good role model in the respect that she is a successful woman and in some instances she does discuss working hard not being defeatist but she does completely contradict herself which annoys me like where she says shit about sticking your chest out.- Rate the latest movie you've seen
Cracked Actor 9/10 brilliant documentary about Bowie and he gets all deep into his thoughts about his characters and relates himself to being a fly in milk :awesome:- Describe The Evolution Of Your Music Taste
Pre 10 Listened to S-Club, Atomic Kitten, Steps, Britney Spears so much throughout primary school and was introduced to the likes of ABBA and 80’s mainstream stuff that my dad liked and would play on car journeys. 11/12 Went through a phase of listening heavily to anything in the top 40 and would spend ages just flicking music channels. Also started liking more stuff of my dad’s like Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, Stereophonics. 12/13 Focussed my attention on R&B music, fell in love with Beyonce, especially B’day and Dangerously in love which I’d just repeat over and over on my cd player. Also stuff like Nelly Furtado, Rihanna, Ne-yo and general mainstream R&B stuff and for ages my favourite song was Waterfalls by TLC 14/15 I went all indie, sometimes I would try and listen to stuff people talked about in class a lot like Paramore but I guess it just wasn’t really my thing. I went through this phase where I would scour youtube finding all these songs by unsigned bands and fairly unknown ones and I thought they were cool. Then I got into stuff like Kasabian, Arctic Monkeys, Oasis, Snow Patrol and of course Coldplay who I obsessed over for well over a year. That then lead me onto Radiohead. I went through a phase of being obsessed with TV and I loved all these 80’s mainstream stuff like OMD, Duran Duran, Ultravox. 15/16 Continuing on from my TV obsession I fell in love with a show called Life On Mars which is where I thought this David Bowie guy ain’t half bad and before I knew it I listened to barely anything else. I remember the first time I heard the Ziggy Stardust in full on a journey to Carlisle and I just instantly loved him. Also I continued to explore Radiohead’s music as I’d only really listened to In Rainbows and Pablo Honey before as well as exploring my mum’s Cd collection and discovering the likes of Morrissey and The Cure. I got to liking other stuff as well from this forum because after a while I'd become accustomed to certain artist names and I’d listen to them. 16/17 Became really interested by indie folk stuff like Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes , Frightened Rabbit etc. also widened my horizons massively started listening to Sigur Ros, classical film scores, Kanye West, The Shins, Beach House etc. 17/18 I started listening to Morrissey again and The Smiths more so, I went through a phase of listening to The Beatles constantly because at times I felt like their love songs totally got me with like butterflies and shit (I know laame). Got into Frank Ocean and the style of his music reminded me of the R&B stuff I used to like so I started digging up a few of my old cds and also I appreciate Hip-Hop more now and ambient electronicy stuff which I found really great when I’ve had stressful exams and revision to do.- Should music fans stop filming gigs on their smartphones?
If it was a rare one off new song being played then I can understand people might want to share it but I do think it's incredibly annoying when they are blocking your view and I can't understand why people continue to film them when they are being professionally filmed for TV or livestream because phone quality sucks.- Ólafur Arnalds
I've listened to And They Have Escaped The Weight Of Darkness a few times and I really like it, it always makes me feel sleepy. - I'm glad I'm not a girl
