Sigur Rós
Yeah, I was going to say Staralfur but so many songs would work for a baby or anyone to listen to while relaxing, etc. The songs are very calming. I wouldn't say they put you to sleep exactly, but they help me relax which helps me to fall asleep if I'm tired. I listen to them on the way to work too, because it calms me while I deal with idiots on the road and gets me in a good mood to put up with crap at work! I also listen to them before I go to bed a lot to help me relax...works anywhere! hehe...

Sigur Rós
I watched that Jools when it was on Rave in HD - it was amazing. Hoppipolla has always been one of my favs. This set also has some good live performances. I particularly like Staralfur and this version is wonderful... Stephenie Meyer - Twilight Series (may contain spoilers)
I agree - Midnight Sun was awesome! It was just like I'd pictured it...So now I'm gonna read Twilight again, but switch off chapters with Midnight Sun, one after the other. Since they are the same time-frame. Ugh..yeah, I was bummed that it ends right before the meadow scene!! Sigh...maybe she'll change her mind and get back to it soon. I hope. Maybe the movie will inspire her to finish it...or maybe not, hehe. One can only hope!

Who here is from the old "official" Coldplay forum?
i used to frequent that place...i think i finally joined when AROBTTH was released. don't know why i didn't join before that but i guess i really wasn't big on message boards until i finally broke down and joined... now i join so many boards for things i like hehe. i don't even remember my nick! but i did keep contact with a few peeps on msn messenger and yahoo messenger, etc. though i don't use those really anymore either. i joined this board shortly after joining the original cp board but lost my account somehow and had to rejoin. does anyone remember the little chat thingy they had on the original board? hehe...

The Official Will and Grace Thread
LOL...last night I watched the one where Grace and Jack go to the movies and Grace brings in a crapload of food (funny because Debra Messing was pregnant hehe) and then Jack sees Stewart there with some guy, so Jack goes over there to sneak a few peeks, all stealth-like...doesn't sound that funny now but Jack is HILARIOUS!!!! I love it when he gets all pissy and starts shrieking all high-pitched...LOL...LIke that time he got so loud only dogs could hear him...his mouth was moving but we couldn't hear the sound...hahahhaha...

Movie Scenes that shocked you

I go back to work tomorrow though...BOO! oh well...glad it wasn't worse. we took the boards off of the windows today. probably should've left them up...you never know!

Movie Scenes that shocked you
lol...yeah, I wasn't sure what to expect. I just heard it was a shock and hard to watch. But I'm a huge fan of much of the japanese films, so it was on my list of movies to watch anyway. Was still good, though! hehe...

The Daily Show/Colbert Report Thread!!

Movie Scenes that shocked you
hmm...don't want to give anything away...here's a very vague summary from imbd, which doesn't really tell you much hehe: A lonely Japanese widower whose son is planning to move out of the house soon expresses his sadness to a friend and fellow film producer, who becomes inspired to hold an audition for a non-existent film so that the widower can select a new potential bride from the resulting audition pool. The widower ultimately becomes enamored with and fascinated by one particular young woman...but first impressions can often be horribly wrong....

Airplane! (the movie)
I'm sure there are some people who still whine about it somewhere...hehe.

Movie Scenes that shocked you
How about Audition? YOWSAH...very strange, indeed and definitely shocking. I'll agree with The Others - was a good twist and rather shocking. Someone mentioned Trainspotting - yeah...the baby scene still haunts me. After becoming a mother, I can't watch that crap anymore, even if it's just a movie. Sickening... A Tale of Two Sisters - definitely had me guessing! The Sixth Sense - before everyone knew about the twist, it definitely got me! The suspense in that movie is so well done. I love M. Night! Pan's Labyrinth, as mentioned above - WOW. Not what I expected at all. There were so many shocking scenes. But I still loved it. Guillermo del Toro is amazing. The Devil's Backbone is also wonderful and quite spooky. The Orphanage (though not directed by del Toro) was really good, though heart-wrenching...had a decent shock there! I'm sure there are some I'm leaving out at the moment...

Stephenie Meyer - Twilight Series (may contain spoilers)
LOVE this series - I hope the movie doesn't come off too cheesy!!! Anyway, I went ahead and read the 12 chapters of Midnight Sun, since it sounds like SM doesn't plan on finishing it and went ahead and posted it on her site. Hopefully she will complete it (though it will likely be slightly different, since this was just a draft) and if so, I'll be looking forward to that too!! I hope she does it soon, though it doesn't sound like it's going to be happening for a while...BOO! Bad, bad greedy people leaking the draft!! Arrggh...

America's Next Top Model
hehe...I've watched ANTM since cycle 1. Still fun, I think, even though it can get cheesy. My hubby pretty much hates it, but sometimes still picks a favorite, lol. My fav right now is Elina, but I like Isis and one or two others that I can't remember the names of right now. Anyway, yeah, makeovers are so much fun!! hehe...

Hurricane Ike
We made it through Ike okay...I live in the Houston, Texas area. We should be able to go back to work tomorrow finally. Our house didn't get much damage - just a few tree limbs down and we lost power for like 6.5 hrs, but that's it. We were really lucky!!! Most of my friends/coworkers/family members still don't have power back yet!!
