^ I wouldn't be surprised if they did a little editing of the audio just to keep a little extra element of surprise for each of the songs--especially since that seems to be a rather common complaint with each snippet. Worst case scenario, we'll find out in nine days :P
  2. ^ Does Jonny not get a section on that  or does he show up in the bluish-purple sections in between Guy's? EDIT: Ah, there he is!
  3. x1001 this I just want to hear Guy's lovely Scottish accent :disappointed: The closest we've come was when he did lead vocals on that Apparatjik track
  4. Hmm, interesting. Thanks! Also, what's the point of a hidden track if they announce it to the world
  5. It took me an embarrassingly long time to hear Guy's bassline on Clocks, and it's arguably the second most important element of that song
  6. :surprised: Really? Did you catch any of the lyrics?
  7. I believe it's supposed to come after Army of One
  8. X Marks the Spot snippet on Facebook! I am actually going to resist listening to this one :awesome:
  9. ^ What I want to know is how much complaining went on here during the X&Y and Viva releases. Were there any Old-Oldplayers who swore off everything after ARoBttH?
  10. Okay, now the REAL wait begins. There is nothing else that Coldplay could possibly give us before the album drops unless they're going to stream it like GS (except apparently a single tomorrow???)
  11. aww yiss the snippet has Noel's solo in it EDIT: How sad is it that I can remember Noel's solo after listening to the song once three days ago lol
  12. wow the kaleidoscope on this one is really pretty
  13. The last 10 seconds as a really faint ambient intro fades out
  14. The detective work put in to finding out what the Running Man represented was insane Man, I'm so nostalgic today
  15. *clicks* *drags to desktop* i need this for reasons
  16. For sure. I've been off-and-on the forums myself for a few years now, but I remember a few people just up and left and have never been back. I used to geek out over the song ARoBttH with Tryptophan :bigcry:
  17. jfc Thalia, I just choked on my own spit
  18. oh god I had blocked that from my memory until now. The hype for that album was real, and the massive implosive backlash of letdown afterwards just made it so much worse
  19. It's a good thing "Yes" is the only dark, heavy, sexual, low-register-using song that Coldplay has done. If they ever included more than one on a single album I would just melt into a giant puddle of my own tears :dazzled:
  20. Is there a "best series of posts" award? Because I would like to nominate the above.
  21. Really, I think his middle range is very nice and I wish he would use it more often. On songs like Fix You and ETiaW, I can definitely tell it's getting harder for him to hit those notes nowadays. (This is really off-topic, but) that's why I really like the LRLRL version of Fix You--he doesn't try to use his falsetto for the entire song, and it winds up being a very powerful, very smooth performance. Surprised he doesn't do that more
  22. Yeah, I feel like the rest of the song will definitely have better vocals, they just chose to showcase a moment with a really hard note to hit. I could see this as being a song that really stretches Chris's range on both the high and low ends (like Moving to Mars) The forums are surprisingly pleasant and calm considering we're all getting our first looks at the new songs. After the MX and GS releases, I'm used to lots of despair, anger, and arguing
  23. This is shaping up to be the first Coldplay release I've been around for where I actually really like the resulting album :awesome: The only two songs I'm having doubts about are Everglow (not a fan of Chris's voice here) and HFtW (love his voice, but too much going on in such a short little snippet to tell if I like it or not)
