  1. "I've never seen a man get so excited about a Mexican food order as Chris Martin." This is the greatest thing I have ever read
  2. jfc can we get just one line of good lyrics on this album
  3. ^ Three squirrels chittering on a telephone wire are better than PoC :blank:
  4. I'm so tired of crap lyrics :bigcry: At this point, I'm not even sure what "universally Coldplay" means lol. Big stadium anthems with crappy lyrics and lots of "whooaas"?
  5. Great idea! I can post the transcript of that article if anyone wants, since the picture is a little small :) --- "Fun, featuring Tove Lo, is more moving than anything on Ghost Stories" Well, I was not expecting Fun to be a "moving" song
  6. :awesome: Getting it during my week off during Thanksgiving rather than my thousand-mile-an-hour dead week would be great. It might actually allow me to study for finals!
  7. I don't know if "inspired" is the right word--I just remember Chris saying he was starting to listen to Rammestein as they were finishing up the latter stages of the album. Whether it was too late to have an influence or not, I have no idea :P noooo
  8. As well as songs inspired by Flo Rida, (apparently) Rammestein, Indian culture, a 13th century poem, 80's funk, and possibly classical music. I literally have no idea what to expect. I've decided that I'm either going to absolutely love this album, or absolutely freaking hate it
  9. My hope for this song has dwindled into a tiny speck of cold dust floating out in infinite space. God, I'm scared to listen to it at this point
  10. ^ You're right in that she probably won't have a very prominent part, but I have sort of a Pavlov's dog response to collaborations--even minor ones. I don't like Lost+, PoC, or ASFoS. It seems like collaborations always entail a very pop-y, Top-40-sounding track.
  11. I'm really trying to keep my expectations at a manageable level--not super high, not super low--but honestly for every bit of news that sends them soaring, it seems like there's one right after that sends them tumbling back down again. Noel Gallagher on the album? Heck yes I want four HFaW being at least indirectly influenced by Flo Rida? wtf no Obviously, a lot of Coldplayers share my opinions. It seems we're all being put through an emotional wringer and it's making all of us a little vitriolic. Yes, AHFoD will probably have some low moments in the eyes of some, but even Coldplay's worst albums (whatever they may be in your eyes) have all had their high points as well. Do I particularly like MX or GS? No, but I do like Major Minus, DLIBYH, UWtB, MtM, Oceans, Midnight, Another's Arms, and Ghost Story. Do I love ARoBttH and Viva? Of course, but I don't particularly care for IMP, Green Eyes, Lost!, or Reign of Love. There will be high and low points for all of us, and while some of us may unfortunately experience more of the lows than the highs, Coldplay always delivers on a song for everyone. I understand that it can be frustrating when a band that you love stops doing things that you love, or when it seems like some people will never be happy with post-Viva Coldplay, but let's try not to take it out on the fans who are on the other side of the line. We are, as some have been saying, all in the same boat.
  12. ^ Wasn't there some source that said they wouldn't be returning to England until 2016? Granted, that's probably for a tour BUT MY EP SENSES ARE TINGLING ANWAY #ephype
  13. Can't we have just one song on this album that is just Coldplay :disappointed:
  14. Come on, random radio or Internet person, leak it on my birthday
  15. The real question is not whether the album will leak, but whether this thread will reach 1,000 pages before the album either leaks or drops
  16. ^ You have to remember though that X&Y was the most hyped-up, I-need-to-get-my-hands-on-it-now album of all Coldplay's releases (at least, that's what I gather from all the articles and stuff written about it, plus the stuff with The Fir Trees). It followed ARoBttH, the out-of-nowhere masterpiece that did well both in number of sales and number of awards. After three years, people were ready to explode about it. Of course, there has been similar hype since for all of Coldplay's albums, but I think X&Y was still the biggest :P Where was I going with this . . . oh yeah. Anyway, I can definitely see us getting the album in the days before the official drop date. Theoretically, since AHFoD is following really closely on the heels of a not-very-heavily-promoted album, the world may not be as hyped up about it and the security may be a bit more lax than the X&Y days.
  17. Supposedly her songs are a bit darker than your typical pop song, though, which makes me excited. Dark songs are my jam.
  18. I remember us getting a really crappy version of PoC somehow in the few days/weeks leading up to the MX drop (I seem to recall the whole thing leaking only like a day or two before the drop, but I might be remembering that incorrectly). With GS, it was only a few days ahead of time because some store started stocking it early. I believe they streamed it on iTunes a few days ahead of time also? Album leaks are just big bundles of fun and craziness on the forums :awesome:
  19. ^ I'm starting to think it's reaaaal likely that the little snippet is actually from Everglow. For some reason I remember a bunch of us deciding that "the falling of snow" phrase on Chris's shirt was part of that song, and I could see "the falling of snow" fitting in with the lyrics from the snippet. "Snow" is also a slant rhyme to "rose." . . . Or maybe I just really want this little thing to stay the same as it is *clutches snippet to chest*
  20. This is going to become the next Car Kids for the next three weeks, isn't it
  21. ^ I'm beginning to feel there's a decent chance that this isn't "Birds," since, as we know, "Birds" is supposedly more up-tempo. Maybe this is a coda of some sort? Or this is the beginning and the whole song builds into a big crescendo like 42 or DaAHF (that would be cool)? If it isn't Birds, I'm willing to bet it's Everglow. Did we ever have the original setlist for the concert? That would definitely narrow the choices down to three at the very least (since we were supposedly getting 4 new ones, one of which was AoaL). That's what I'm wondering as well. I can't imagine whatever this song is being any better played in a faster tempo. I've never been the biggest fan of UAtW, but these lyrics work so beautifully with it that I almost hope it doesn't change
  22. lel I appreciate the effort in getting a shortened link so we wouldn't get tipped off
  23. :wideeyed: That makes me feel the opposite #leakhunt2015
  24. ^ Worst rule ever :disappointed:
