  1. I'm pretty sure Rik and Markus will be back on the boat, Brian had a small participation on MX so I'm not sure if he wants to keep working with Coldplay, maybe Jon Hopkins will be more involved again as he seemed on Viva... let's wait :P
  2. Parachutes is a collection of 7 good songs and 4 I really don't care (Sparks, Parachutes, High Speed and We Never Change)
  3. I am waiting patiently, I'll wait for the sign
  4. I guess you could wait some days for the people you've sent PM's to answear why they are late, not everyone logs in here every day
  5. sent my tape yesterday, excited to receive mine :)
  6. I agree I'm done with the piano, but using acoustic guitar PLUS lots of other things seems good to me... I am not one of those who want them to go back, maybe you are right, I just think there aren't really more kinds of arrangements to test, they've done "symphonic" stuff with Viva, Paradise and Rainy Day, they went eletronic with ETIAW and PoC, they used "weird" instruments on Life In Technicolor and Lovers In Japan, I mean, there's not many things left to do with that, at least that's how I see it. I guess it's time to change the formula and not the dressing.
  7. So I was thinking a good way to go for the new album would be using a more stripped down aproach with lots of acoustic guitars mixed with synths and strings, things like Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground and U.F.O., but also using guitars like Yes or Cemeteries Of London, I think that's the way to go, more quite and introspective sound but still colorful and full of layers of different instruments.
  8. Well if it's a secret gig probably only the right people will know about it...
  9. Well, it's what they wanted to do and I think they did it pretty well, the thing is that they haven't made a OK Computer or anything because that's not what they wanted to do. If they like doing pop, let them do it... (and yeah, they probabley ALSO don't have the ability to do it :P)
  10. ^ They can, they are just not interested on doing it.
  11. God, look at this thread, aren't we bored.... btw love Hurts Like Heaven one
  12. ^ I think he meant that Green Day should be doing other type of music by now, singig pop-punk doesn't suit 40 year old man so well as it suits 20 year olds. And I kinda agree, you see after the more serious themed American Idiot and 21stCB that was a huge step back both on the sound and the lyrics. I do like Green Day but I guess you don't need to come up with comparisons with them so often too.
  13. Why the label wouldn't let them do it? Like, they are the biggest band on theire hands, they would let Coldplay release pretty much anything right now.
  14. ^ I've never been to a Coldplay concert but you can clearly tell by the live recordings he is struggling to sing Viva La Vida, ETIAW and other "jumping around" songs.
  15. YES, I mean Viva doesn't have the best 13 songs they recorded on that period, who would say Lost! is better than Glass Of Water or Rainy Day? Still that album is great because it all fits well, Viva and Prospekt mixed could have been a good double album, but Viva La Vida alone is a greater record.
  16. Green Day's trilogy is just OK, I think they could have done a single album with the best material from the 3 records, it would have been better. About Coldplay making a double album: no way this will ever happen, since Viva La Vida they have the rule of making albums between 42 and 45 minutes and around 9 songs long (although Viva had 13 and MX 11 btw).
  17. ^, it's just such a boring song, although a lot of people didn't like One Way Trigger at least it was different.
  18. ^ You haven't signed me up on the list yet, could you? :)
  19. Are we going to have this newcoldplay/oldcoldplay discussions forever on this forum? They are not doing AROBTTH part 2, just get over it people. Personally that's what I love the most about them, the ability to keep changing and sounding fresh over the years, each record has its own particular sound.
  20. Los Hermanos - De Onde Vem A Calma
  21. I really like Babel, but.... album of the year, really? Anyway, happy for them :D
  22. Haven't discovered or started to listen to many new things since the last one, don't know if I'm able to make a mixtape interesting enough this time
  23. Gonna have to agree, there are some great songs in there like While My Guitar Gently Weeps and Blackbird but things like I'm So Tired and Savoy Truffle aren't even album worth tracks.
