Which Coldplay Album Would You Consider the Band's Masterpiece?
I would say Viva was their creative peak (along with Prospekt's March), but I love Mylo Xyloto more and more every listen, definitely an underrated album. Those are my favourite. (oh and I love Princess Of China and don't get all the hate)

A Head Full Of Dreams (Title track)
Very U2-ish, reminds me of All That You Can't Leave Behind album, which is a very life-affirming one. Gonna wait until the studio version cause I feel it's gonna sound a bit different, I like it at first but let's see.

Up&Up
God I missed a piano/guitar driven song like this. Feels very Beatles-Oasis like.

I liked at first, now I'm loving it really. Great riff and amazing bass line, Chris is not at his best here, but the rest of the band is just so well on this track.

Fun (feat Tove Lo)
^ She had her first hit single last year, Habits, a nice pop tune

Doesn't feel like Coldplay. AAAAAND THAT'S GREAT. Like, if Chris wasn't singing this could be Daft Punk or Two Door Cinema Club, that's the first time I feel like they've released something that doesn't sound even a little bit like themselves before. My first post in ages btw

Coldplay's companies
It could be something like Gentleman of The Road for Mumford and Big Brother for Oasis though
-
Coldplay's companies
Maybe the companies are not for Coldplay, just owned by them for others to use it... I don't know, but it doesn't fit with the whole "last album in a while" stuff. Why to make a label to release just one album for the next 5 years or so?

What was your first encounter with Coldplay
My dad would eventually hear Clocks when I was like 10 or something, I really started to get into the band when I saw the Violet Hill video on TV somewhere around May 2008 when I was 12-13, just after that I heard Viva La Vida on the radio and became a fan. I think I bought the album on August 2008 and heard it every single day for like six months. Still my favorite album ever after 7 years.

Now Idolator defends X&Y! Is it finally "cool" to like Coldplay?

LP7 FACTS Thread - WE KNOW EVERYTHING NOV 6
Do we have any song title confirmed? If the album will be out in less than a year, by this time on the process of Viva and MX we had some hints alredy

Pitchfork defends X&Y and Coldplay!
I love how Pitchfork is trying to be nicer with Coldplay since MX, I think most of theire work will be better seen in some years (except Ghost Stories, thats a forgetable album)

BEST GAP SINGLE?
So since Viva the band has been releasing a one off single between albums that don't have much conection with what's next. What's your favourite single released on these album gaps? Christmas Lights, Atlas or Miracles? (I'd go for Miracles with Christmas Lights as a close second)

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Miracles is a nice track with some fine production. I really like how the bass sounds, specially when it comes in on the begining and the "heyy floating up..." part. For me its better than most of GS (except Midnight really) and feels like a band track while GS doesn't have that band feel on most of it.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
YES YES YES But Ghost Stories is just meeeh 7 Up In Flames + 1 The Escapist and an Avicii song

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I have always been the kind of guy that would say "they won't do AROBTTH 2, deal with it, they like to change" Now I'm scared I don't want Maroon 5's Overexposed Please make it stop

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Not really liking the Stargate thing, missing Ken Nelson, Brian Eno and Markus Dravs quite a lot.

Mumford & Sons
Love the new album, there aren't riffs and really developed intrumentantion, but the songs are full of baeutiful melodies. Its not perfect, there some tracks that sound like fillers (Cold Arms and Mosters), but overall its better than Babel. The formula of the songs is pretty much the same of previous albuns, the just managed to keep it fresh with electric guitars, drums and background synths. In the end it's all about great songwriting, really.
