After about 5 full listens it is a great album, but only met expectations. It isn't Coldplays best, nor is it as full of life as mylo. The best description really is the day to ghost stories' night

I hated princess more than any other coldplay song and I actually like where this is going :)

I still feel like it would make sense to hear it before the festival so that the fans there for coldplay would be familiar, but who knows anymore. They do what they want

For quick reference, A Sky Full Of Stars was released the Monday or Tuesday before it was played for the first time that Saturday on Saturday Night Live

Nope! Just the audio the day they performed it live for the first time. I think we'll get the audio this week. At least it's possible

I'm also pretty certain they will play something new. A place like iheart would be perfect to debut something, even if the album isn't entirely finished for another month or two. Otherwise it's a waste of time for them to stop and fly to Las Vegas. By now most people who go to music festivals like that know who Coldplay is, so they wouldn't be gaining any large amount of new fans doing it. It's definitely a promotion, although I would also say 2 songs at most from the new album will be played.

I can't see that being on the cover without at least a little piece of info inside, possibly a review of the publicly unreleased first single?

Every album they've made has been different from the last and had a distinct style. A Head Full of Dreams won't be any different. It's going to be its own thing, not trying to go back to any sound they had before.

It's disappointing that nobody has mentioned The Desired Effect by Brandon Flowers. Far and away album of the year so far
