After I listened to it a few times, I like it :) It was just SUCH A SHOCK at first. Not at all what I expected!
  2. Well, I'd say Paradise is better than Give Up The Ghost. That song was the worst (though the title is awesome). But better than Lotus Flower? No.
  3. I'm an old fan. I think it's good. The lyrics aren't great. 7.5/10
  4. Good, not great. Not as bad as I thought it was after the first listen. It's just....I dunno. I'm confused. The shock I guess.
  5. I pre-ordered the album. I don't even know if I want the pop-up version anymore.
  6. It, and the album pre-order, is on iTunes. US at least.
  7. Okay. I just want to start this off by saying that I love Coldplay. I discovered them at the age of just twelve when "Yellow" was on the radio. Since then, I've basically followed their every move. I owe them everything from my awkward teenage years to my success thus far in college. They've maintained their position as a huge part of my life for quite a while. That being said, when I hear this song I feel a lot of mixed emotions. Instrumentally, the song is very well-thought out (almost too much so), from the grandiose soaring strings, to the hip-hop pounding of Will's drum set to the faint tinkling of the piano keys in the outro. I love the epic feel to the song and it even gave me chills at some points. So the sound of the song, in my opinion, is great. So we get the analyzing the lyrical content. This is some of the weakest poetic work coming from Chris, and I'm disappointed. When I reflect on songs I've laid on my bed to with my oversized headphones from A Rush of Blood to the Head with deep, relatable lyrics (Politik, Shiver, Clocks, etc), I'm a little heartbroken when I hear this. It's lazy lyricism. Plain and simple. It's kind of like hanging around in the shallow end of the pool...Just....LAME. I know I should take these songs and interpret them without comparing them, but it's really hard when Coldplay (the OLD Coldplay) has cemented so much of itself into me, and made me who I am today. Oh yeah...and when he said "Every tear a waterfall," I wanted to vomit. Please don't let that be this album's "my feet won't touch the ground." In short, it's not great, it's good. But I've grown to expect so much more from them.
  8. I haven't listened to it yet. I'm kind of afraid to. :uhoh:
  9. Pardon my French, but fuck that.
  10. This makes me want to put a bullet in my head.
  11. Yes. :waffle: And I'm going to work out now. I'll be back in 2 hours so I can :waffle:
  12. You've GOT to stop trying with images! :waffle: So so clearly fail at them.
  13. Well too bad it doesn't come out for me in the US until October 25 :( :sad waffle: ^ I know that's not a thing, but still.
  14. Yeah! I have to go work out in like 20 mins for a couple hours but then my :waffle:ing will commence. Feel free to :waffle: without me.
  15. I remember I thought the waffle was hilarious that morning (which was exactly a month ago). Probably because I had basically NO sleep :waffle: But seriously I'm glad we can use the Coldplaying countdown waffle again :waffle:
  16. What? I hate broccoli! :freak:
