From what I hear in early reviews/discussions about the song, it sounds like Rihanna's part is very understated, tasteful, and done well. Handled delicately. I've doubted Coldplay in the past with some crazy stuff they've put out, and they always exceed my expectations. So I'll give them the benefit of the doubt this time around. I just hope she's not the main focal point of the song, you know? When I first heard the news, I was like "RiRi you dumb bitch! GTFO my Coldplay album!" But now I'm indifferent. I'll judge when I hear it.

I just want to hear a member of the band pronounce it via video or radio, once and for all.

Something about Coldplay. The site is called "Coldplaying." For some reason, whenever someone says anything about Radiohead being vastly superior (especially when it's not topical in any sense), the conversation turns to bickering crap.

They always have repeated themes, or motifs, on every album. For instance the "Now my feet won't touch the ground" bit on VLV.

Fix You is NOT Coldplay's most well-known song besides VLV. Maybe Clocks or Yellow. But with Clocks your point still stands, I guess. It's not chart-topping in any sense but it is an instantly-recognizable classic. I think what people are frustrated about (I'm not really frustrated, I like the new stuff, but I totally get why there's people who hate it) is the fact that Coldplay is relying on the pop gimmick so much to get to a chart-topping position. They didn't used to feel the need to have to be #1 as far as radio play is concerned, but right now that seems to be the situation. Myself, I feel that it's a little premature to give a verdict on MX because it has a variety of different types of songs on it, and we haven't heard complete versions of most of them.

Sounds like "Now My Feet Won't Touch the Ground," from PM. It's really pretty, but it's missing something that gives it an extra pep. Kind of like Fix You without the loud part. I dunno. Maybe if Fix You and The Scientist had a baby UIF would be the product :P It's really nice though! I don't think we should give it a verdict yet since we don't have a HQ version. Wait for the concert stream tonight!
