The 2024 leaks - Lyrics compilation
I'm hearing "Laser" too! Just can't figure out the context/words around it to make sense. But could fit - if it is then followed by "Phaser guns". "Bird or a plane.." is a great shout!

The 2024 leaks - Lyrics compilation
These two lines of 'The Only One' aren't sitting right with me, Got On A Plane, Yo, Set To Stone All These Are Reasons, Things Are Gone It's hard to make out, I might try to isolate the vocals somewhat and hopefully hear a little clearer. But just as examples of what I mean: I'm sure it starts with 'But', rather than 'Got'. It sounds like 'You're Set To Stun' rather than 'Yo, Set To Stone' I don't think the final word is 'Gone', there's an 's' sound at the end, it almost sounds like 'guns'. 'Phaser Guns', maybe??? Or I'm going mad. I can't really tell. ๐

The NEW 2024 Leaks Thread
Wedding Bells, after all these years, I have to admit is wonderful to hear a 'finished' product finally. Have loved it since watching the South Bank Show around the Viva days, so probably around 15 years ago. Same with Famous Old Painters, to finally hear it with vocals after all this time is just...wow. Wedding Song is beautiful as well, it's really growing on me. Same with Weirdo. Until The Water Flows Over has been beautifully reworked. Broken is fantastic too, tbf. And UFO ii I love. And Spanish Rain finally hearing a studio version... Okay I massively regret asking the question now, might need to be a Top 10 ๐ฌ

So! At this point, what's everyone's top 3? There's so many I love, it's tough, but I think mine's: Tomorrow The Race (GS Version) Love in a Lethal Dose/Lethal Drug (Feat. SZA) And one past song you're desperate to hear, eventually? I think maybe, Car Kids

I think my favourite is the GS version too. I love that it's so piano-driven. And I just think the 'make my heart start, you make my heart start, start to beat' is such a good bridge, it's a shame that was lost. I really like the added production and layering of the later versions but I dunno, it does feel like they've had a hard time finding its 'home'.

The NEW 2024 Leaks Thread
Hey! ๐๐ I think it was someone just compiling a selection of the leaks. The 'Good Feelings' clip was the old Chainsmokers version I think, not the Nile Rodgers collab

All I'm saying is I've seen hundreds of accounts say this exact kind of thing over the years and it almost always ends with the same outcome. So naturally you can understand if we're feeling a little sceptical. That's all it is, scepticism, nothing personal. I've also worked with record companies, labels, artists etc. in a number of roles for over a decade and some things just jump out to me as not 'adding up quite right'. But we'll all find out one way or another, right? If you're right, it's just a matter of time until you can say, "I told you so!" ๐

The problem is, it just feels like Deja Vu at this point. In 15 years of using these forums, it's the same thing I've seen around every album release and 99% of the time it's eventually proven to be BS. The only exception I can think of off the top of my head - was someone saying they met Chris on a flight and he told him about the next album being called Ghost Stories. That was cool when it was confirmed to be true. So almost by default everything people say at this point, unfortunately, is most likely untrue ๐

There are snippets?? Please may I have some snippets? <3

Everglow
To me, it almost feels as though they revisited their original ideas for Up in Flames and 'had another go'.. There's just so many similarities running through it. It was what I pretty much expected from hearing the little teaser clip but I quite like it. I think it's one of those tracks that'll be appreciated more in the context of the album.

[2016-06-04] Etihad Arena, Manchester, UK
Cannot wait! :D There will be lights, don't worry! The start of the show will be fairly light but in no time at all it'll be dark enough. Been the same for previous open air stadium gigs. Yeah the colour section thing confused me a little bit too. I got blue. But as long as the tickets are 'Standing & Level 1 Unreserved Seats' then it's all good. I'm sure there'll be more info very soon :)

Beyonce features on the album and 'had a hand' in some recording, that's very different from 'producing'. (Unless I've missed something announced more recently?) I see where you're coming from 100% but i still think it's jumping to conclusions too early. Beyoncรฉ is a funny one generally.. she's very talented but she divides so much opinion, I'm always surprised.

Okay. I see some people going slightly overboard here.. It's the lead single. Of course it's going to be more 'mainstream' and have elements of current chart music production/arrangement etc. It's just the nature of 'pop' album releases. Yellow came out on the back of brit-pop, lots of similar songs on the radio at the time. Same with a lot of subsequent tracks they've released as singles, album after album, it's just how it is. They're one of the biggest bands on the planet, their singles have to be commercial. (unfortunately?) You can't use one song to define the entirety of an unheard album. You just can't. We have no idea what the rest is like, c'mon. All things aside, an opinion is an opinion, not saying the people that aren't keen on it are wrong at all. It took a few listens, personally but it's rapidly grown on me. Not my favourite first single but it's promising..!
