  1. ^ geez dude who gives a f*ck?
  2. Chris needs to stop writing songs with live performances in mind. Chris talked a lot about how he imagined how these songs would translate live, so as a result, MX was exciting but I didnt find the music to be as powerful as past efforts. I think Chris needs to stop worrying about how songs will sound live and just focus on the music. They're so good live that it really doesn't matter what they are performing live.
  3. ^yeah cuz mx sucked, right? Why so cynical? Its always fun to speculate about the future. People are flocking to this thread because MX has kinda run its course. MX does not suck, its just run dry for most of us-- for me at least. But I still loved every moment of this MX era. Its been a rush. I'm so excited to see what they put out next
  4. I wish there would be a "Best Live Act" for the Grammys, but that kinda defeats the award show because its all about the recording. MX Live: :dazzled: MX recording: not as good :/
  5. Paradise was the only big commercial hit in the states at least. The next biggest was PoC, almost solely because of the names in the credits -- ehem RiRi. Next next biggest was ETIAW, which got little to none recognition. So, all in all, these results don't surprise me. Again, MX is no VLVODAAHF or AROBTTH. Hopes are high for LP6!
  6. I don't know. Probably not. But I just don't think it would have been the right thing to do if Coldplay went to the Grammys this year.
  7. C'mon, Lonely Boy is a kick-ass song. So is Gold on the Ceiling and Little Black Submarines. The Black Keys caught lightning in a bottle this year, where as Coldplay just put out another solid effort. MX definitely was not VLVODAAHF
  8. Congrats to the Black Keys, though. They deserved both awards over Coldplay this year imho
  9. Well they were there last year, so I think they didn't want to take away from the other fantastic artists this year by performing another MX song. And also perhaps they privately received the word that they didn't win anyhting so why come? But yes, I'm quite sad we won't be hearing another classic Chris Martin exceptance speech.
  10. is best rock performance even televised? or is it one of those off-screen awards?
  11. Yes they're very good, indeed. My favorite bands are Coldplay, Arcade Fire, and Fun. :)
  12. ^hahaha. Ignorant fool. FUN is good and talented. And they appeal to all generations just like Coldplay.
  13. I thought I was first. Guess I should have checked a few pages back. I tried to out-Tash Tash!! I should have known better... *goes to corner and cries*
  14. they can still win for Charlie Brown I think :)
  15. Best Rock Album goes to.... El Camino -- The Black Keys Sorry Coldplay :( http://music.yahoo.com/blogs/awards/early-list-2013-grammy-winners-224530311.html
  16. lol nothing is gonna leak for another year or so. Question: do you think LP6 will be better or worse than MX?
  17. Its ok! I was quite excited for the song when I first heard low quality footage of it at Rock IM Park.... Ah, nostalgia... :dazzled:
  18. You don't call chocolate candy. You call chocolate chocolate. You don't call Coldplay soft rock. You call Coldplay Coldplay.
  19. Its interesting how much this list has changed for me personally over these 2 years... 1) MX/ Hurts Like Heaven 2) Major Minus 3) Up In Flames 4) Paradise 5) Moving to Mars
  20. I'm sorry but I fundamentally disagree with you. There are simply too many layers in MX songs. Especially Charlie Brown, Major Minus, and DLIBYH. Not a single song off MX sounds better in the studio version than live. MX just simply has a shorter shelf life than VLV or AROBTTH because of this. A song can sound great if there is a lot of complexity in little subtleties. Viva la Vida is an excellent example of that. But Charlie Brown, for example, just has a lot of unnecessary noise and production.
  21. ^there's still the comics coming up
  22. ^Exactly what I want too. LESS production: MORE guitar and piano. (and more Will)
  23. No. I will no settle for this. I want car kids so bad omg
