Christmas Lights vs Green Eyes

After MX, I feel a bit worried. Usually, when I am anticipating the next album, I can't wait to see which direction they'll go in next. This time, I fear that the music, the production, and the lyrics will remain similar to MX.

Of course they gained fans. MX is the most approachable and pop-friendly album they've made. A casual listener can't tell the difference between any of the first four albums. Take it from my sister who said, "All their songs sound the same." But MX is the most different and the most mainstream, which is why it gained fans.

FUN. really deserves AOTY. I have family ties with the pianist, Andrew. I met him before a concert, and he was super down to earth and is just amazed and so grateful that they've got their huge break with Some Nights. I'd be pissed if Mumford and Sons won, because Babel sounds exactly the same as their first album. I expect the Black Keys to win. At least here in the states, I here them all over the place: commercials, radio, TV, everywhere. And El Camino is a great album. The 2nd Law is garbage. There's even mediocre dub step in one of the songs. It's just awful. As for Coldplay, I'm surprised Charlie Brown got nominated, but I don't think they'll win anything. By the way, are they planning on performing again at the Grammys?

All I want is less over-production. MX is sooooooooooo much better live, especially Major Minus and Hurts Like Heaven. *edit* oh, and more Will please.

Whenever I listen to Live 2012, I'm reminded of the best concert I've ever been to at the Hollywood Bowl. Plus, HLH, MM, and Paradise are so much better live! (I love the knew coldplaying color scheme too)

If you keep hoping for an acoustic album from Coldplay, you will probably be disappointed.

Totally. I don't care if they get any nominations if at least HLH gets nominated. But thats a LOOOONG shot for sure.

How soon will this album be dropping? I assume the promotion will start heating up a few weeks after the comic book series wraps up?

I wouldn't call what Chris does "dancing." Its more like... very passionate flailing of arms and legs.

I think coldplayers a being too modest. MX is a great album, and I think its got a great chance to be nominated for best rock album. However, I don't think Charlie Brown did well enough commercially to be nominated. Its a long shot. Princess of China, unfortunately, has the best chance of any song to be nominated, which is sad cos it is the worst song on the LP. ETIAW and Paradise are off the table if you didn't know... Or at least I think.

Don't understand all the hate. :/ First of all, this is lightyears better than both the PoC vid and the CB vid. Second, it gives us much more insight about the story Coldplay has promised us over the past year (erm, we actually know what and who the almighty car kids are now). And finally, I don't understand why people are being so cynical and saying "Bahh Humbug! They're just promoting the comics!" In a sense, you guys are right, but saying that this vid is exclusively serving the purpose of promoting the comics really degrades all the hard work put into it. While the CB and PoC vids seemed uninspired and bland, this one I really enjoyed because it actually told a story. And I loved how it ended with little mylo in his room realizing what his purpose in life is. And the little hand print ----> awesome!

I may just end up liking the live album over the actual studio release!

If we do get music, it will probably be released with the comics. So... everyone is going to have to be patient.
