Maybe the inspiration for LP6 is themselves. They threw out Eno and Dravs(?).... maybe they're looking inside instead of the world around them?

I would love to see them put rhythm and instrumentation first... Build from the ground up. I felt like MX was a bit too hook-driven, where the chorus was the center of the song, and the instrumental were just supports. I want some heavy grooves, ya know?

C'mon now, they better win a Grammy for the live film. Well-documented look at the biggest band in the world at the heights of their performing career!

Option 2 is by far the most intriguing to me. And I'm starting to grow tired of how many times music journalists and writers name drop Achtung Baby. If I had a nickel for every time I heard, "this new album is like their own Achtung Baby."

These things always take longer than expected. Keep your pants on people.

It would be nice if they didn't release any singles this time, since by the time MX came out we had already heard over half of the album.

What you're describing is the result of them keeping it in-house again. Honestly, I think LP6 will be a nice complement to VLV and MX. With the previous two LPs being so experimental and adventurous, I can see LP6 as being more of a return to the core of Coldplay-- just emotional and heartfelt tunes. I think LP6 will still have some outrageous and odd sounds, but I think LP6 will be more straightforward than the last two.

Question: So I'm planning to see Arcade Fire in Mountain View, California @ the Shoreline Amphitheater this summer. Does anyone have any experiences at this venue? Is it worth it to get lawn seating, considering it's much cheaper than the proper seating sections? Can you see well from the lawn? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. This would be my first time seeing AF live, and I'm really really passionate about them, so this is very special to me. :) Thanks.
