Looking forward to hearing The Brian Jonestown Massacre's "Aufheben" in May. That name is so crazy :P

And some countries have great cultural periods while others get stagnant. That could be another reason someone might like another country.

Viva La Vida is one of the greatest albums ever and is extremely different than most albums out there. Still, it's often to compared to Sgt Pepper and the like. That's high praise but I can't think of one album that I would say MX is noticeably similar to, and I think that makes it so important.

I guess whoever produces could be leaders. Just for conviencance sake. Speaking of which, I have Garage Band on my iPad. I'm not very good at mixing stuff, but I can do it if the need arises.:)

For me, it's because the U.S forces you to think it's the best and it's not. We're tought by our culture that America is the only "free" country, which just isn't the case. Our culture, for the most part, is money driven. You guys not only have great bands, but a great history with roots in many other cultures. It seems to me that in the U.S cultural traditions are swallowed up by one mass culture. British culture is very imaginative and creative when compared to our cookie cutter culture. In my opinion at least. I'm sure people in the U.K may feel that way about the U.S. Might be one of those "Midnight In Paris" situations?

We could also break off into groups (there are enough of us) and do a couple of songs, if that strikes anyone's fancy.

Sad to hear the news about Blur. I just recentally got into them (I guess I still have some stuff to explore in their catalogue). At least we'll get Under The Westway, and in many ways it's sort of...I don't want to say good, but it's sensable I guess, that Damon's ending it. 9 years without a new album is a lot of time, and at least their not having us, the fans, waiting at the edge of our seats for something that probally won't happen. Again, it's sad it has to end, but every band comes to this point eventually. And it looks like we might have made it, yes it looks like we've made it to the end:) Thanks for the music guys!

I think MX will be remembered actually, if only cause it's so different from other stuff. I think the albums that make the biggest impact on future artists are the ones that break boundaries. That's the same reason I think Viva will be so important later on. MX broke a lot of boundaries IMO. That may be one of the reasons it's so controversial.

I went to the local garage sale and picked up some Star Trek and Lord of the Ring action figures for like a buck. Cause I'm a nerd. Plus they should look good in some future TV production/YouTube project...

Was this ever done on here? I mean, as in a couple of users form an "online band" and email each other bass riffs, guitar solos, vocals, beats, etc and actually write a song. I think I may have read something like that on here once. If not we should do it. Maybe this is a little to ambitious but it's getting late over here in the states and it seemed like a cool idea.
