  2. Fantastic show! Wow! What a way to introduce their LP5 stuff to the USA. The crowd were amazing and huge, and full of life. The lighting was possibly the best it's been all season and the boys looked and sounded great. It's hard to believe they aren't seriously jet lagged and tired - but they sure as hell didn't show it! Highlights were Charlie Brown, I loved the fleshed out guitar riff with the keyboard layered over the top. The crowd were amazing during Viva La Vida and Every Teardrop is a Waterfall gave me shivers. Looks like it was a fantastic night for everyone!
  3. Haha, yeah I agree - it looks that way. I don't really know why a deaf person would be in the crowd, or why they'd really care about the lyrics! Surely a deaf person there would be doing what everyone else is doing. Taking drugs and tripping out to the lights and Jonny's shredding skills. :P
  4. My god, Charlie Brown sounds AMAZING! I love the keyboard chords over the top of the guitar.
  5. I love the bass and the low piano chords towards the end of UATW. So simple and powerful.

  10. Do you guys think Coldplay still get nervous before gigs like this? I'd be shitting myself, but they have played so many shows would it just seem like routine? What would they be feeling right now?
  11. Can't wait! I haven't seen a live stream of any of Coldplay's gigs this season so I'm very excited. Although the fact they play the same set list every time makes it a little less exciting!

  14. Hi guys! Sorry if this has been done before. I know there is a best of track listing thread, but I'd be curious to know what you guys think would be the perfect live track listing. So here's the scenario: You have to design Coldplay's tracklisting. You have to be considerate of tone and keeping the flow of the show consistent and natural, so it can't just be sixteen of your favourite songs! :P It has to be entertaining for both neutral fans and hardcore fans.   15. I. Adore. This. Song. I've been a fan of Coldplay's since Parachutes, and I've been an obsessed fan since A Rush Of Blood To The Head and this is my favourite. I love everything about it, but I love the change in beat and the burst of the song after the "waaaaaaaterfall" part. It makes me want to dance like nothing else.
  16. I've seen a few people claiming they could write a song just as good as this. My advice would be to do it and make lots of money. This is a fantastic song that completely alights bars and nightclubs and parties in a way I've never seen before. From anyone. So yeah, I would recommend they go ahead and do it if they can write it. I personally think they're just saying that because they don't like the song. Nope. I don't think that at all. I was trying to understand what she meant by progression. She seemed to imply VLV is a masterpiece and ETIAW is crap from an objective point of view. I wasn't trying to give an objective argument. I don't care about that. If I don't like a song, I don't go around telling people that the song is shit and it takes no talent to write it. The reason I mentioned the complex and changing beat in the song is because I thought she was implying the song is simple and easy. It's not. Bottom line is you can't give objective reasons as to why this song is "bad". She's only say that because she hates the song. edit: Not to mention Jonny's guitar in ETIAW. It's off the chain! I think anyone who claims they could write that riff is talking shit.
  17. With utmost respect, I think you're talking out of your backside. You're using weasel words. Anyone can say what you just said about any song, because there is no empirical way to measure "progression". What does that even mean? Progression in terms of what? Lyrical content? Melody? Drums? Bass? Message? What really confused me is when you called Viva La Vida a good pop song and Every Teardrop is a Waterfall a bad pop song. You are trying to argue objectively but you can't do it. And just so you know, Viva La Vida has less chord changes and is less intricate than Every teardrop is. I love both songs, but objectively, ETIAW is more complex than VLV. "Complex" meaning more chord progression and changes. The drum beat even changes in ETIAW. VLV is a very simple song. I love it, but if you're trying to argue ETIAW is objectively the worse song, you plain can't do it. Really, all your post is saying is "I don't like ETIAW and anyone who disagrees with me is objectively wrong because ETIAW has not progressed".
  18. Every teardrop is a waterfall is my all time favourite Coldplay song and I've been in love with them since Parachutes. So yeah, different strokes for different folks.

  20. He sounded like he was mean spirited at first, then when I read the stuff he said about Bruno Mars it kind of confirmed it. I'm not a fan of Bruno Mars either, but to slag him off and belittle his music whilst sounding awfully smug and superior isn't a very good thing to be doing. So yeah, I don't really care what he has to say!

  25. We get it! None of us are talking about criticism. Read the opening post :) I'm talking about sheer hatred. Insulting the band personally. I'm not calling it "hate" when someone says they don't like Coldplay. You're talking about something completely different to what I made the thread about.
