It really makes me wonder why some of you even call yourself Coldplay fans. You are claiming they have changed their sound to "top the charts"? Really? And you say you like and understand the band? Coldplay do their own thing. Yes, they have changed. Name me one legendary band that never changed their sound. Look at the Beatles for christ sake. They went from this: to this And yes, there were thousands of "Beatles fans" crying about the change back then too. I personally love the new stuff. I think it is inspired, unique, groovy and hard hitting. I love the old stuff too. I guess what I'm trying to say is that we should all know that Coldplay aren't the type of band that would give a toss about reaching number 1 in the charts. They have amazing integrity, they are extremely private and personal and they make music they want to make. The audacity some of you must have to suggest they are selling out is mind boggling.

I think the album will end with ETIAW, but there will be a hidden track that is a variant of MX that actually closes the album off. It'll be similar to what the Killers did with Sam's Town - it ends with a full circle. That's just a feeling I have.

That's because it's the unknown. We don't know what the track list will be, but more importantly we don't know what songs will be on the album. It's exciting! It's always a big moment when Coldplay release the tracklisting because all the speculation about what songs are on and what songs are off comes to an end. I remember when X&Y came out everyone was panicking about Talk. No one thought it would be on the album and when it was there was a huge relief.

It will leak as soon as they ship out hard copies. The only way you can prevent a leak is to release it digitally before you release the hard copies. Which Coldplay aren't doing. So yeah, once the record stores and thousands and thousands of people get their hands on the album in early October it will leak. Instantly.

Yes, of course it will. They'll include a lot more MX material. Paradise will certainly be part of the set, as will a few others. I think they'll ditch Life is for Living. But I love that song, it's one of my favourites so I hope they don't! Coldplay will never open any festival ever, in any era, with Charlie Brown. Not a chance.

I mean no harm in this, but why are you even on the forums? Every post I see from you usually involves either you explaining why Coldplay are bad now or you ranting about how much better Coldplay was in the past. Bands change. You don't know enough about MX to judge it. Even if you did, and even if you didn't like it, you still have no point at all and I don't see why you need to project the opinion here. I liked the Beatles earlier stuff too. Will it make a difference if I go into a Beatles forum and start slagging off their stuff? Or will everything stay the same? What are you accomplishing in this?

Relax. Just because they have a backing version with distorted vocals does not mean the main vocal track on the song will sound like that. Jeez, you people are so twitchy.

Viva and Rush of Blood are my two favourites. So I guess I like both eras.

Hi all! Let's make a list of all the changes Chris makes when he sings live as opposed to the recorded version. 1. Fix You - the lyrics "could it be worse?" become "what could be worse?". The lyrics "When you're too in love to let it go" become "when you're to in love to let it show". Chris also does melodies with his voice that differ from the recorded version. I love them! Also, in Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall, the line: "Maybe I'm in the black, maybe I'm on my knees, maybe I'm in the gap between the two trapezes" gets quite a long pause after "trapezes" and he doesn't directly follow on to the next line like he does in the recorded version. Why is this? So, what do you make of the live alterations of songs? Are there any changes you love? What about changes you dislike?

The boys are getting old now, and Chris has made comments on the longevity of bands and how at 30 things change. What do you guys think?

I'd rather see Chris' dancing during ETIAW than see him on the synth the whole way through the song.
