Let me tell you our story of this latest concert. First we met up with friends who live very close to the Olympic Stadium for a pre-concert drink. My husband asks the brother of his friend who got a ticket only the week before, if he has seen Coldplay live before. His answer was, I was even once on the same wedding as Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin. I must have sat there with my mouth wide open. He continued and said "I was actually trying to get a backstage pass yesterday but when they said, it is a bit late and guest lists have to be with photo and stuff I said, don't worry I do not want to cause a hazzle" He added that had he known that I was so keen on it, he would have tried harder. He even said, I did not call Chris Martin directly but the people where we were on the wedding. Can you imagine! He kept up close on who these people were and on my question if he HAS Chris's phone he did not answer. He only said that he really is a nice person in real life and that they had a nice talk. I guess the fact that he does not talk about these things even if asked, is the reason he is friends with this "these people". But now knowing what I know I will try to get a backstage pass out of him the next time they come to Munich. The concert itself was fantastic no question, with a great atmosphere. Even the weather behaved and the rain stopped just long enough before the concert for the rain pavilions to disappear. However I also think the setlist could do with a few changes. And they could have planned an encore. It is strange to have no encore on a concert. They never have done proper encores where they disappear and re-appear as far as I can remember (or maybe at my first concert in the VLV area, I remember they even changed their clothes). During the last concerts they always said "Do you have time for one more song" or so. I was very pleased though that they played almost a full 2 hour show not like the last tours (Mylo Xyloto) where they finished after 80 minutes. Special was that Chris asked a guy on stage to play piano for him on Everglow. You can read everything about it in the media. First I thought it is real, then I thought it was staged and now I think again it is real. What do you think? Also looking forward to the Video and which footage they used from the concert. Regarding the security we had no bad experiences. No big queues and since our tickets which we had bought eight months before stated that no bags and backpacks are allowed we did not bring anything. I found it strange that not even umbrellas where allowed which were small and collapsible especially with the rain before the concert. I found the mail saying this only today as they had sent it only on the day of the concert at 4 PM. But somebody else from our group had read it and told as so. Problem was with the catering. I stood almost one hour in a relatively small queue (15 people) to get my Fries. The stall had about 5 such queues and the fries did not get ready fast enough. I was surprised because at this venue there are regularly 70.000 people who are hungry so I have to make sure to offer food that I can deliver quickly. On the way home we had a 2 hour delay to get out of Munich due to roadworks at the motorway junction. Nice fact on the side: In the traffic jam we got passed by the very stage truck shown in one of the first pictures in this thread. Looked exactly the same and had British reg. I think I even saw it later again in the first truck lay by. So they first had their deserved sleep before heading on to Lyon. I did not intend to write such a long comment, but here we go. By the way, I am still wearing my new AOAL heart t-shirt which I bought at the merch stand. It is super cosy and looks gorgeous. Have fun wherever you are!

When does the first support act start? Are they any good? Never heard of them!

Hi, Am I the only replying? I am going to the Tuesday concert too and I am from Passau. We got seats opposite the stage. Have you got standing tickets or seated as well? I really hope we have no bad surprises in terms of attacks or bomb warnings. I also hope they play All I can think about is you again. Mortilorie

Finally found time today to listen to that new song. And I knew it was great from just the intro, hoping it would not disappoint. But no, I think it is so great, that I had to go onto Coldplaying and say so. It reminds me much of AROBTTH. It is great to hear Jonny and Will again so clearly. Chris' voice even drops a bit to the back. After all the pop which is nice and feel good music, this is a great proper old style Coldplay song again with a few new twists. Simply great!!!

Hi Moniru, yes I knit and I crochet and last year I made a few things at Christmas for other people as well ... and these are not Lebkuchen, these are "Zimtsterne" but they are similar as they contain no flour and lots of almonds, but the spice is only cinnamon and they have got an eggwhite/sugar covering. Diogo_Sg got Lebkuchen this year :)

Since Santa said we should post pictures of Gifts that have not arrived and I have just come across a picture from last year's secret santa on my mobile, I am posting a photo of a gift I had sent to California to the user in December 2015. I have never received a note that it has arrived and there was a note from another user that had not been able to acknowledge her last year's gift. So maybe it has arrived then after all ... Here it is: The teddy jumper was hand knitted, and it only says CP as Coldplay did not fit ... Happy New Year everybody

Your secret santa gift has quite some story. I have sent you the details in a PM. The short version is: It is all down to Moniru, my husband and a few lucky "coincidences" (which I do not believe that really exist ...) which made this gift as special as it is and since I do not believe in coincidences, you might have just been the one to need that gift. My gift from Moniru is also very special to me, @Moniru I have even used your flower of life ornament as decoration in my yoga classes recently. My first ever secret santa gift that I sent by the way was just a hand made card. Everything starts small ... Feeling so happy now. As somebody else said: Giving is even more rewarding than receiving.

My parcel should have arrived too. Since I have sent it as registered delivery I have asked postal services of the relevant country now to update me. On their website it says the same since almost a week. But maybe it is only me be being German to expect exact updates and punctuality?

No, they are not mutual. You send the gift to one person and get a gift or card from another person if you are lucky :). This is part of the excitement that it is totally open and focussed more on the giving part than the receiving.

I bought myself a chocolate Nikolaus and put it in my boots with the chocolates for the rest of the family, and I made the adventkalender for my kids too. This is how it gets when you grow up... And for Christmas we do not do gifts between adults this year. We refurbished our cellar to host the table soccer that Santa is bringing to the whole family :). So, Secret Santa is the only proper surprise gift I got this year, and I am very happy with it :)

Isn't it nice that Secret Santa brings love and joy to stressed out people all over the globe?

We love Secret Santa here in Germany, but Coldplaying was there first. Now it is everywhere and is called "Wichteln" (at least in Bavaria). When I tell someone about what we do here, I usually call it "Internationales Wichteln"

Regarding this beautiful photo - I saw a video of Coldplay from 2006 yesterday and I have to say Chris looks much better aged :). Lets hope this accounts for us too !!!

I have finally sent my parcel today! It should arrive in about a week anyway. The post lady even said, that she heard that some cross europe parcels arrive in two days. But I think to assume a week is safer. I wanted to take a picture of the package in the "post cage" as it looked kind of nice - ready to go, but I was not allowed due to data protection issues ...

Hi Coldplayers, Hi Moniru! I got my parcel this thursday, and it got to me in my busiest week since a few months .... I was like, who is ringing the door now! I have no time at all ... and then it was the postman - with a parcel - for me! "I have not ordered anything" I thought to myself and then it slowly dawned on me that it could be my Secret Santa gift! I had to wait to finally find time to open it, but then I was absolutely overwhelmed! It just did not stop ... so many beautifully wrapped and handcrafted things. It is from Mexico, which is exiting enough, but the content was really special. I am really sorry that you had to wait for my reply, but as said, this week was tricky. So thank you so much Moniru! I absolutely love your gifts! And I really did think, that you must have had a lot of time on your hands ... Already tried some tequila chocolate. Very yummy!! I will of course put the card onto my tree and I will take a picture of it once it is up. The wooden flower of life ornament will also get a very special place as will the beautiful notebook. It is great that we have such cool website to connect and Secret Santa makes every Christmas extra Coldplay special. <3 (Similies do not work for me at the moment, only question marks I am afraid) And to whoever asked about the avatar ... yes it is a picture from the beautiful 3D card that Moniru made. I sent my gift to the US, if any of you in the US are still waiting you can ask if me if you are my match. I do not want to pm my match just in case he/she still is hoping for a surprise.

I was wondering if I should contact my match as it seems that nothing has arrived just to let them know that I sent something. I did not send it registered, just as a normal international XL Letter, so no tracking or refund I am afraid.

Now I just need to know when my treat will safely reach the States. I have posted it almost 4 weeks ago.
