What you should know about the picture of sleeping Chris. He was coming back from his uncle's funerals, fell asleep on the ferry, and the paps took that picture. He's aware of it and is very disgusted and bitter that some one would violate his most intimate and vulnerable moment int that way. Knowing that, as cute as he looks, I cringe every time I see that picture.

I reluctantly have to move to Viva La Vida. I find I need more than a day to go through each album. So I'll do it on my own time when this challenge is over.

Another tidbit about White Shadows. It's Abby Road Feb 13, 2006, the band has just performed White Shadows. Chris is having a little conversation with the audience, he tells them his mom is in the audience and that he would be very grateful if they acknowledged her. Then he goes on to say: if she hadn't had 3 whiskeys that night and let my dad have his wicked ways, the world of ballads would never be the same. LOL

Finally there was this silly bet that if Moyles promised to be nice to a poor person, Chris Martin would sing some Michael Bolton lyrics during Coldplay's performance at the Brits. Lo and behold, if you listen at 3:39 on this clip, Chris says: how can we be lovers if we can't be friends (these were the lyrics he and Chris Moyles were talking about 2 days earlier). This guy is simply crazy. LOL

Phew! I had forgotten what a long album X&Y is, then I had to replay some tracks 2-3 times. I really love White Shadows ending, live. Jonny does his thing, then lifts Chris from the floor. Sometimes I just spend the time watching different clips of White Shadows from different concerts. I love how Chris added the exclamation please, please, please! in live shows.

I had a very grand old time with AROBTTH well into the night. I listened to lots of interviews and live sessions around the time the album was released. I so loved the In My Place acoustic version with just 2 guitars and a voice, the way Chris holds the harmony line is fantastic. BTW, Chris said Phil is the one who suggested the title Politik (with a k).:) It was nice to see the boys enjoying themselves even more than during Parachutes, Chris and Jonny getting more animated, and Will hitting the drums a lot harder. About to start X&Y now.

TY Jason! Though I wouldn't pay attention to Rihanna if she weren't associated with Coldplay, some of the posts about her here are just ridiculous. She's obviously a very talented person and deserves to be on the same stage with Coldplay. The band certainly think so or they wouldn't have invited her to sing on that track. As you said, everyone is entitled to their opionion, the band always have the last word and will do as they please. Oh, and how was the duet with Jay-Z a flap? According to who?

So Coldplay were part of the Dick Clark's New Year Rockin' Eve 2002 where they performed In My Place. I can't find a video though:-(

About to hit the gym in about an hour. I'm preparing a setlist + interviews to listen to while I'm working out. AROBTTH simply has way too many hits.

I really tried to like it, but helas. It has to be my least favorite Coldplay track. There are b-sides I like better.
