  1. Ah! Just a quick google search and got this goop newsletter Judgement Often times, when we occupy the space of 'I'm right and you're wrong' it keeps us from seeing our own responsibility in matters. When we judge others' foibles and personality traits, what does it really say about us? What can we do to identify and get rid of judgment in ourselves... http://goop.com/category/be
  2. It's not so much the accent than the vocabulary. They laughed at him for using oftentimes. Where do you think he learned that?
  3. Exactly! Me too!
  4. Don't get me wrong, while he has lost his Devonian accent, he hardly has an American accent. In fact, he still sounds very English to an American audience. It's just that you can detect his American influence when he speaks or talk through the years. The other 3 don't have that problem. As I type, I remember an interview where Gwyneth says it's a challenge communicating with her in-laws sometimes. She constantly has to explain herself, no that's not what I meant. LOL It was hilarious.
  5. Maybe! But he belongs to the world now. We all want to claim him.:) Everyone wants a piece of Chris Martin.
  6. Celine is my little sister's name. I'm Veronique.
  7. As brilliant as he is, he might have copied that one from his American family member. We say that down here a lot. In fact, his accent is no longer pure Devonian, he speaks American quite often.
  8. Hmmm. I know Moses was the 1st ever new-born baby Jay-Z held. Chris is officially off tour until April, so who knows? I'm sure the paps will let us know very soon. Ivy Blue! Haters are going to have a field day with that one.
  9. No, I only remember Chris talking about it in an interview. If I find the clip, I'll post it.
  10. It speaks volume for the band that we all have different favorite albums. It means they are not a 1 trick pony. They've grown as musicians with each album and their audience is diverse. It's a very good thing.
  11. I can't quite totally remember the explanation he gave. Something about passing drumsticks among each other during a performance. When Chris' turn comes, sometimes he misses and it hits him in the face.
  12. When you dig up Coldplay related articles by remembering their quotes.
  13. Yes, I just remember these quotes from past articles I've read and dig them up again. Chris is just a stand-up guy all around. Yeah, we were just hanging out. LOL
  14. This Goodhousekeeping article is an oldie but a goodie. I like reading it a lot, especially the part where Chris gives the kids cookies and yogurt before dinner time:laugh3: Gwyneth Lets Her Guard Down By David Hochman By Brian Bowen Smith Managing the Mommy Guilt Just as Paltrow wrestles to keep her marriage out of the media, so, too, does she struggle with raising kids in the spotlight. For instance, she recently found Moses sitting in the garage playing toy guns with an invisible opponent. Paltrow closes her eyes tightly at the memory and explains: "He was like, 'Take that, paparazzi!' It was crazy. I thought, What I have I gotten these children into?" It's moments like those that make Paltrow and Martin work extra hard to keep daily life as grounded as possible. They are determined to attend every assembly at school, every sports event. But togetherness alone isn't enough; their beliefs also bind the family. Faith, she says, plays a "huge, huge role" in their lives, with Paltrow drawing from a few religious traditions. Her mom has Quaker roots, and her dad was Jewish. "We're kind of a mix of everything in our house," says Paltrow, who says she goes to temple more than church and feels it's important to teach children about each great figure who defines our religious landscape, be he Jesus, Muhammad, or Buddha. "I believe in God, and I pray with the children every night," she says. Usually, she helps Apple and Moses remember what they are grateful for and what they wish they had done differently that day. Often, the prayers get very specific: "Apple likes to pray that she'll never get another cavity," Paltrow laughs. As lunchtime ends, Paltrow sits back in her wing chair, sipping a cup of green tea. "It's weird, because we're famous people, but I think our values are primarily family-oriented. We're not swept up in the whole thing of it," she says. If it sounds as if she's trying to convince herself of something, perhaps she is. Paltrow is the first to admit she doesn't have all the answers on how her doubly famous marriage is affecting the children. As much as she tries to shield the kids (she hasn't let them watch her movies, for instance), it's impossible to sidestep the fact that she and Martin aren't quite like other parents. "Apple's getting to the age now where people in her class know who we are," Paltrow says, looking genuinely mortified. "The other day I said to her, 'What do you think I do?' She said, 'You're a movie star.' I was like, 'Who told you that?'" No doubt, it's in Paltrow's nature to (over-)analyze situations like these because she's an involved mom and she knows from experience what an impact a parent's professional life can have on a family. She recalls how complicated it was for her when her mother went off to act on Broadway, in films like The Great Santini, and in TV movies. "When [i was a child and] my mother had to work, I felt her guilt, and that it caused a lot of chaos for her," says Paltrow, who sees her mom several times a year (Danner spends much of the summer with Paltrow and her family by the beach). Paltrow's decision to cut back on her workload when Apple was born had everything to do with wanting to stay present in motherhood; it goes right back to that focus on mindfulness. She refuses to miss many of the everyday joys like snuggly bedtimes ("We're reading James and the Giant Peach, and I can't wait to read them Danny the Champion of the World," she says of the Roald Dahl classics) or "when all of us are cuddled up together, watching Mary Poppins." Not that every day goes down like a spoonful of sugar. Careers need tending, hard choices must be made — and even the best explanations for why Mommy's out of town can ring hollow to tender ears. "I came back from Hong Kong and tried to make it about bringing back this rich experience for the kids as well," Paltrow says, but she knows how tenuous that sounds. She tears up a little. "I do feel so guilty and, like, What am I doing? but I also want them to know work is really fun for me — 'Hey, look what I get to do!' As opposed to feeling like, Oh, I'm a terrible mother. Because that really just doesn't get you anywhere. It doesn't get them anywhere.'" As a foil to Paltrow's mindful nature, there's the relaxed Martin. Very relaxed; his wife paints a portrait of him as something of a pushover. "I think dads in general are like that," Paltrow says. "They just do things you [as a mom] have to wonder about. I'll say, 'Why did you just give the kids yogurt and cookies? It's almost dinner.' And he'll say, 'Oh, sorry. We were just hanging out.'" But Martin is no spacey rock-and-roller; he definitely steps up when it counts. When Paltrow was in Hong Kong, Martin had to prepare Apple for her weekly spelling and math quizzes. She had to learn 15 vocabulary words and her 13-times tables, and Paltrow was delighted to return home to see Apple had gotten them all right. "I shouldn't have been surprised," she says. "He's a really good dad." 15. When you turn a tennis match into a coldplay discussion. LOL
  16. From those who have already voted, no one's mind was changed as far as number 1 album.
  17. Parachutes was definitely great for a Freshmen album. I feel a little sad b/c I imagine the boys would probably want to hear that MX is their best work. I like it a lot but can't just put it at number 1 if I want to be honest.
  18. Well, I'm ready to vote as well. Apart from my number 1 choice, the rest is very difficult to rank. 1. AROBTTH : Too many great songs on only a sophomore album from such young musicians. 2. X&Y: if only for Fix You which was my entry point to Coldplay. I don't know how such a classic song never hit number 1 in the charts? 3. Parachutes, Viva La Vida, MX. These 3 are equal #3. I have no idea how to rank them.
  19. This impromptu UATW performance from the Ed Sullivan Theater was just epic. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-0bJhSt8y0]Coldplay Us Against The World Live at David Letterman - 20 Set.2011 - YouTube[/ame]
  20. Today is the easiest of the 5 days. I just listened to the MX playback on Exposure XFM with Jo Kennedy where Chris, Guy, & Jonny were explaining the whole album track by track.
  21. Well, I don't even feel like starting MX yet. Perhaps b/c I know it all too well?
  22. A healthy way to diet... or a load of Goop? Gwyneth Paltrow reveals her New Year cleanse By Tamara Abraham Last updated at 12:28 AM on 6th January 2012 Comments (38) Share Gwyneth Paltrow Clean-living: Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed her New Year cleanse to readers of her lifestyle website, GOOP With her slender Tracy Anderson-honed body, we're not exactly convinced that Gwyneth Paltrow is they type to overindulge at Christmas. Nonetheless, the star is embarking on a New Year cleanse, and thanks to her lifestyle website, GOOP, we can all follow suit. Lasting 21 days, her fans may be relieved to know that it is not an extreme juice-only cleanse - rather a healthy-eating plan that is low on fat and sugar, so perfect for dropping pounds. Named Clean, it is the brainchild of Dr Alejandro Junger, who the actress regards as something of a guru. It comprises two 'tasty' protein shakes for breakfast and dinner, and a lunch made from any combination of prescribed foods. These include plenty of vegetables such as salad leaves and kale, as well as brown rice, chickpeas and butternut squash. And GOOP even lists a number of recipes according to Dr Junger's diet, including wild salmon collard wraps, pumpkin coconut stew and a salad by Jamie Oliver. In addition to the shakes, the package includes a combination of supplements including probiotics, fibre powder and 'liver support'. Ms Paltrow is clearly an eager fan - she reveals on her site that she followed the cleanse last year and is keen to do so again. She wrote: 'Next week, when it’s back to the grind with work and the daily school run, I’m starting off with Clean, my go-to cleanse from Dr Alejandro Junger... 'I’ve used Clean in the past with great results, losing a few pounds and kickstarting a healthier and more energetic New Year.' More... Is fatty food heterosexual? Dr Junger, who warns followers to consult a doctor before embarking on the cleanse, boasts that 50,000 people have done the programme so far. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2082730/Gwyneth-Paltrow-reveals-New-Year-cleanse-diet.html
  23. One wonders how long it took for the band and crew to get out of the venue then.
  24. OMG! That angle is very funny. That's all I'm going to say though I could say more.:D
