I agree with the whole longer songs thing. Like mrkjhnwht, some of my favourite songs are over 5 minutes. Songs like Talk, The Scientist and Politik are just over 5 minutes and make every second of that as good as possible. And I agree that some songs drag on a bit. In my opinion, Low, Warning Sign and Gravity are good songs but could be improved by being a bit shorter. However, there are also songs which suffer from being too short. Up in Flames, Cemeteries of London and Violet Hill are examples of songs I really wish were longer. Basically this:
  2. I'd have to say Damon Albarn of Blur. I love Coldplay but I don't think I like any one member more than the others.
  3. I was at a Blur concert a little while ago and as we were waiting for it to start, my friends and I started talking about what music we liked. I said that I liked Coldplay, and one of my friends said her dad had been to a Coldplay concert recently and got given a light-up wristband which mysteriously started flashing in the middle of the night. I had to pretend that I didn't know what she was talking about otherwise people might have thought I was an obsessed fan :laugh3:
  4. Maybe Shiver? This sounds like the kind of question that The Oracle usually answers as part of Team Oracle Fridays. Have you tried asking the Oracle for help? (on coldplay.com)
  5. Only Superstition 17 Careful Where You Stand 3 ------------------------ Ladder to the Sun 7 The Scientist 13

 Only in Antarctica though. The rest of the world must wait another 3 years to hear it :(
  7. Only Superstition 11 Careful Where You Stand 9 ------------------------ Ladder to the Sun 9 The Scientist 11
  8. Animals 19 M.M.I.X. 1 ------------------------ Ladder to the Sun 9 The Scientist 11
  9. Animals 11 M.M.I.X. 9 ------------------------ Ladder to the Sun 9 The Scientist 11
  10. It's a picture of Chris throwing all the people who keep asking about Car Kids into a big hole.
  11. You know, there is an actual album called "Midlife: A Beginner's Guide to Blur" which is actually a good collection of some of their best songs. But I think it's more fun the way we're doing it :P
  12. As Coeurli said, I'm pretty sure Chris has enough common sense not to swear live on TV in front of thousands of people :laugh3: However, I was half expecting to hear "All the boys scream like your off your fucking face!" in GPASUYF
  13. Moving to Mars 16 Easy to Please 4 ------------------------ Your World's Turned Upside Down 2 Help is Around the Corner 18
  14. Congratulations Coldplaying on reaching another record number of users :awesome:
  15. Hey, that's a good idea! For Tomorrow The Universal Out of Time Trimm Trabb Chemical World edit: They don't have to be in a particular order do they? These were just the first 5 that came into my head.

I agree  Everyone's making a big deal out of nothing. And everybody seems to be forgetting: "You are you are you are" "A whisper a whisper a whisper a whisper" Simple repetitive choruses are hardly a new thing for Coldplay.
  17. WOW. Holy crap, 42 and Strawberry Swing. They've been practising them for ages and now we finally know the reason why :D How did no-one see this coming :laugh3: What an amazing show that was, not just Coldplay but the whole thing, just awe-inspiring. Blew that Olympic closing ceremony out of the water.
  18. I recommend Blur! Though if you like Oasis then you may already not like Blur :laugh3: Also try Snow Patrol. edit: I just saw the date of the first post so I guess it's probably too late to recommend bands here.
  19. I agree that Think Tank is not an ideal starting point. It's their last album, and definitely not representative of them because it's their only album without Graham on guitar. It's a great album but I wouldn't bother getting into it until you've listened to some more of their work.
  20. I asked the oracle ages ago what Chris was saying in Clocks on LRLRL and she didn't answer! It's a good thing someone bumped this thread, and that I decided to read through it, or I would never have found the answer to that question
  21. I actually wouldn't mind if they just carried on touring without releasing another album. The odd single every now and then would be nice, but I think they've got enough material to keep them going for a long time. Obviously if they did release a new album at some point I wouldn't complain, but I'm not hopeful for one.
  22. Unusual setlist? Seasons of the year? Does that mean they will play 4 songs, each representing a season? Maybe Charlie Brown for summer, Violet Hill for winter... can't really think of songs for spring and autumn
  23. Brothers & Sisters 6 Christmas Lights 14 ------------------------ For You 2 I Bloom Blaum 18
