Radiohead
Chieftan Mews on Twitter has been asking a question every week since August 4th and the countdown ends this Wednesday. A nice summary here: http://thekingoflimbspart2.com/2011/10/06/chieftan-mews-tweets-11/ I think it will mark the release of Staircase/The Daily Mail as a double A-side single.

what is it with the tea-party?
......where on earth do you live? I'd much rather be in the United States than any of the places you mentioned - especially given the fact that the eurozone is on the verge of complete collapse.

Occupy Wall Street Movement
 And it's a shame because the protestors do have some valid points. But it gets lost in all the nonsense - I guess that's what happens when you form drum circles.

I've been listening to Biophilia since it leaked over a month ago - great record but not as good as Homogenic

What are you looking forward to the most from Mylo Xyloto?
Studio versions of Us Against the World, Up in Flames + UFO

Q Magazine: "First Impressions of... Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto"
Q magazine will probably give Mylo Xyloto 4 out of 5 stars.

Radiohead
I'll never forget checking Dead Air Space and reading this: "Well, the new album is finished, and it’s coming out in 10 days . . . We’ve called it In Rainbows“. :awesome:

Occupy Wall Street Movement
The protestors are already irritating locals in NYC, the very 99% they claim to represent: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/08/nyregion/occupy-wall-street-begins-to-chafe-its-neighbors.html I'm ashamed to be part of the Entitlement Generation.

Unless there's a studio leak I don't know about, someone ripped the audio from the radio stream. There's no way you can prevent that.

Coldplay Interview on Influences for MX (Hip-Hop, Dance, etc)
If that's the case, then as I've already pointed out to Kiame, my goal wasn't to say my opinion is more important and should be adopted by others. No, I was just curious if I was engaging in a conversation with a person who never listened to hip hop and wanted to talk about the merits of it. Because if that was the case, I wold have better luck talking to a brick wall.

Coldplay Interview on Influences for MX (Hip-Hop, Dance, etc)
Of course - the fact that you're a regular listener of hip hop certainly lends more credibility to your opinion than someone who never listens to it.

New Video = New Single?
This is really digressing but I'm not a huge fan of Sgt. Pepper - I think it's the most overrated album of all time... I'd certainly argue Revolver or Rubber Soul are much stronger albums. I guess I just prefer bands playing music and letting that speak for itself. You brought up Flaming Lips earlier - no surprise, I'm not a fan of their stage antics. And I've been to enough concerts to know that bands don't need lights + costumes to put on a good show. One of the best concerts I've ever been to was seeing Sigur Rós.... and they certainly didn't have elephant heads :wink3: To be fair, Yellow Submarine is a mediocre tune.... best not to let it speak for itself. :P

New Video = New Single?
If it fits with thematically with the music, then I have no issue. For example, one of my favorite artists is Björk and she has a different persona for each era and I don't really care because it definitely goes with what she's trying to achieve. In a more relevant example, Coldplay had the Sgt. Pepper-inspired look during the Viva era and I don't have a big problem with that because it fits thematically. But elephant heads are a completely different story.

Coldplay Interview on Influences for MX (Hip-Hop, Dance, etc)
That's not what I was going for at all. I've consistently maintained the view that it's great to have disagreement in opinions - can you imagine what the world would be like if everyone just agreed with each other? No, I was just curious to see if I was talking with someone who would be able to back up their opinion or someone who blindly supports all of Coldplay's musical ventures. For example, if the original poster never really listens to hip hop and then says something along the lines of "OMG, this is amazing hip hop," then it holds little value to someone who regularly listens to the genre.

New Video = New Single?
Are you all seriously defending this? Elephant heads? Really???? What happened to just playing music and letting that speak for itself?
-
Coldplay Interview on Influences for MX (Hip-Hop, Dance, etc)
That's fine but which part do you disagree with? Where I say it's ok that the band turns to hip hop for inspiration? Or the part where I say their efforts to incorporate hip hop elements sound amateurish? If it's the latter, I have to ask: do you listen to hip hop on a regular basis?
