Singles from Mylo Xyloto
Sounds about right to me.

Impossible to listen to HLH without MX
I'm definitely glad they're on different tracks. If I've only got a short time to listen to a few tracks (ie a 10 minute drive or something), it's hardly ideal to have about a minute of build up.

Song rollout effecting enjoyment?
Yeah it's definitely a good point but it still doesn't solve the overproduction at some times. I've listened to the album quite a few times now and while I'm able to get used to it, the vocal effects on HLH are still really unnecessary as well as other things like this on the album.

Charlie Brown - Studio cover full song
Hmm this guy was more or less spot on even with the piano outro..

Give your revised track list
I'm glad the interludes/build ups are separate tracks because when there's only time to listen to a few songs, a 10 minute drive or something, the last thing you want is a minute of instrumental build up. Overall I'd say it's good enough as it is although Moving to Mars fits quite well on the end.

If Moving To Mars Was On MX...
End or beginning is fine in my opinion. Kind of fits well as a transition if you wanna hear the album on repeat

Rate HURTS LIKE HEAVEN poll!
I really love the song itself but the production of the studio version massively lets it down in my view. The song itself (and from live versions) is nearly a 10. What I've heard from MX, I'd give about a 7.

THIS IS NOT THE FINAL VERSION OF MYLO XYLOTO?
LOL since when did the genre matter?

The 'Thank you Brian Eno for ruining a potentially brilliant album' Thread
Except I'm 42.. It's not judging it like we're saying this is our final opinion of it and we'll never listen again (at least I'm not saying that) it's just that these are our first impressions. What did you expect the forum to be dead when the album released?

Viva La Vida vs. Mylo Xyloto
You just can't compare DLIBYH to Chinese Sleep Chant. And A Hopeful Transmission is what 30 seconds long? Anyway.. Life in Technicolour Lovers in Japan (but HLH live) Paradise Violet Hill Viva la Vida Strawberry Swing Lost! 42 Us Against The World UFO DLIBYH Escapist Death and all His Friends So that's 9-4 to Viva and I don't even particularly like VLV much as a whole album

THIS IS NOT THE FINAL VERSION OF MYLO XYLOTO?

Meh HLH is just as badly produced lol.

THIS IS NOT THE FINAL VERSION OF MYLO XYLOTO?
Just a few tweeks will make it much better IMO. The start of HLH and Chris Martin's vocals on it are horrible. As are the vocals in Princess of China.

THIS IS NOT THE FINAL VERSION OF MYLO XYLOTO?
The guitar slip up in UATW is interesting I'll give it that I still can't see how it'll be much different though. If they've "fixed" the opening vocals on HLH I'd be well pleased

A Note On Chris' Voice
So they've overdone his voice so much in the hope that people won't notice it? =\
-
Biggest Disappointment and Surprise of Mylo Xyloto
Disappointment - the complete destruction of Chris Martin's vocals on HLH Surprise - Princess of China isn't quite as bad as I feared
-
Live vs. Studio
It's a decent point but before the studio versions came the basic idea of the songs. I doubt Chris Martin sang like a **** when he first wrote HLH.

Rate Mylo Xyloto
My quick review. 1. Mylo Xyloto - Decent intro. Preferred the faster versions from live shows though. 7/10 2. Hurts Like Heaven - Still a good song but far too overproduced. Chris Martin's vocals are ruined, as is the guitar in the intro (which you can barely hear due to about 50 over sounds. 7/10 3. Paradise - Good catchy atmospheric tune. I can see the idea but gets a little too repetitive. Like the piano outro. 6/10 4. Charlie Brown - Again loved the live versions but I feel this is again overdone in production terms. The vocals should be much simpler but the special effects let them down again. 7/10 5. Us Against The World - The chorus is too simple for my liking and again the production ruins what could've been a really good listen. 6/10 6. MMIX - Pretty pointless build up for the next track when you think about it but I've heard worse interludes. 5/10 7. Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall - I liked it before and still like it now. The production is big but fits ok here. 8/10 8. Major Minus - Didn't particularly like it as a b-side and not sure why it's in the middle of this album. Again the vocals are ruined and the live versions were better. 5/10 9. UFO - Like it. Once again bad production but it's a good short Chris Martin song. 8/10 10. Princess of China - This is bizarre IMO. Rihanna doesn't do a bad job but it just all seems a bit pointless. This is a Coldplay album and Chris Martin can sing just fine by himself. 4/10 11. Up In Flames - Would be perfect if it was less produced but again Martin's vocals aren't trusted enough and strangely autotune is used at times =\ 7/10 12. A Hopeful Transmission - Good interlude 7/10 13. Don't Let It Break Your Heart - Best song of the album. The only track where they properly let Coldplay be Coldplay. The drums are allowed to stand on their own as are the vocals for the most part. 9/10 14. Up With The Birds - A bit like two songs in one but overall it's a good track and a good finish to the album. Again finally they let Chris Martin sing on his own.. shame it takes over half hour for that to happen. 8/10 Overall 7/10 but the over the top production and killing of Chris Martin's voice that stops it being a 9 or a 10.
