Coldplay for special interview and concert on Sky Arts Coldplay have announced plans for a one-off Sky Arts special. The channel will broadcast an exclusive concert on the same day as the band's latest album Ghost Stories is released on Monday, May 19 at 9.30pm. Coldplay: Ghost Stories was filmed by Grammy-nominated director Paul Dugdale in a custom-built amphitheatre in front of 800 fans. The performance will be staged as an in-the round gig, with cinematic vignettes and 360-degree projections. Coldplay performed all nine tracks from the new LP, including the singles 'Magic', 'Midnight' and 'A Sky Full of Stars'. They also played classic tracks including 'Clocks' and 'Paradise' among others. Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland and Will Champion also speak about the album and the one-off gig in Coldplay: Making Ghost Stories at 9pm. Sky Arts will also broadcast Coldplay: Live 2012 from the 'Mylo Xyloto' tour at 7.45pm, How We Saw The World Pt. 1 from Toronto in 2006 at 6.30pm, and Coldplay Live in Sydney from back in 2003 at 5.30pm. I think chris' zane lowe interview gives more credence to this story. he mentioned that coldplay had sessions with madeon and some other producer I can't remember. and that coldplay wanted ghost stories to be personal and quieter and the songs from these sessions didn't fit the album. also he mentioned how a lot of songs were written but the songs in ghost stories were selected carefully to fit the overall theme they wanted for it,i haven't heard of the band making songs in an era aimed for a different release intentionally and they always talk about the importance of putting everything in to the album they are making. so i think there is a high possibility of getting the follow up album sooner than later. BUT based on the producers chris mentioned in the interview, the album MAY not be the cup of tea of those who hate/dislike ASFOS coz the sessions seem to have been with more DJs..

got to say, the live version is pretty awesome. wasn't that impressed with the album version. but live! that's a totally different story.

this is crazy good! and to think it still so far away!my hype threshold has reached it seems. i have a feeling it will be better than MX and X&Y. possibly better than parachutes. but have to wait to listen to the album as a while and let it sink in for awhile. the first listen is not always the best to judge an album for me.
